MIF Offers Fully Funded Fellowships In Japan, Details Here

SRINAGAR: The Matsumae International Foundation (MIF) in Japan is offering a fully-funded research fellowship program for six months, starting from April 2024 until March 2025. The program will provide about 10 fellowships in the areas of natural science, engineering, and medicine.
Interested applicants must hold a Ph.D., be currently employed in their home country, and be below 49 years of age. Required documents include an application form, a research plan, a CV, a list of publications, a recommendation letter, academic certificates, and an invitation letter. All documents must be submitted in PDF format via email to MIF.
Successful applicants will receive a monthly allowance of JPY 220,000 (equivalent to INR 1,37,171) and an arrival fund of JPY 120,000 (equivalent to INR 74,784), including travel insurance with medical treatment.
The deadline for submitting the application is June 30, 2023.

SRINAGAR: The University of Bilkent is offering fully funded scholarships to both national and international students who wish to pursue a master’s or doctoral degree in Turkey. The University provides a wide range of courses in Art, Design, Architecture, Business Administration, Administrative and Social Sciences, Humanities and Letters, Science, Economics, Music and Performing Arts, Engineering, Applied Technology, and Management.
To be eligible, all national and international students must have a BSc degree or be current MSC students with a total CGPA of 2.80/4.00, and the GRE General Test score is required to be 153 (quantitative) for international candidates. Additionally, a minimum score of 87 points in TOEFL is required for English proficiency, or the candidates must submit an IELTS score of at least 6.5 bands. In addition, the Bilkent COPE grade must be at least C.
The required documents for the application process include a degree that will serve as proof, the candidate’s recent official transcript, two letters of recommendation, an IELTS/TOEFL Result, and a GRE Score.
The Bilkent University Scholarship 2023 for students is fully funded, covering all expenses related to studying at one of Turkey’s top-ranked universities. The selected Ph.D. candidates will receive a monthly stipend and housing of 5,500 TL per month (23,000 INR). Similarly, MS candidates will receive a monthly stipend and housing of 4,400 TL (18,000 INR) per month with private healthcare insurance.
The application deadline for the Bilkent University Scholarship is May 31, 2023.

SRINAGAR: The University of Simmons is offering a fully funded Kotzen scholarship for female undergraduate students for the academic year 2023-2024 in the United States.
The University offers a range of undergraduate programmes in various fields, providing women with a unique perspective on society, preparing them to be future leaders and changemakers by supporting their education and building their confidence.
Female students who are incoming freshmen and have a minimum of 28 scores on the Simmons test on the ACT, and at the same time, a score of 1300 or above on the SAT can apply for this scholarship. Moreover, candidates whose native language is not English are required to submit English proficiency test scores such as TOEFL, SAT, or ACT.
A college preparatory curriculum should include an advanced-level math course, with a record of taking honors, International Baccalaureate, and advanced placement courses also required.
The application process for the Simmons University Kotzen Scholarship in the USA is online. Applicants must answer short questions with a maximum of 250 words and receive an essay topic from the university, which they have to submit in PDF format, comprising no more than 500 words.

Saudi Arabia: First 13 days of Ramzan fully booked for Umrah

Riyadh: In the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), the booking for performing the Umrah during the holy month of Ramzan at the Grand Mosque in Makkah Al-Mukarramah are fully reserved for the first 13 days of the month, local media reported.
The bookings made on the Nusuk application to perform Umrah rituals has witnessing a great turnout from inside and outside the Kingdom.
As per a report by Arabic daily Okaz, a breakdown of booking made so far via the app shows 13 days of the month, including the last 10 days of Ramzan, have already been fully booked,
Earlier, undersecretary of the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and Assistant for Umrah Affairs, Abdul Rahman Shams, stated that the number of people registered on the Nusk platform for Umrah from outside the Kingdom during the month of Ramadan reached nearly 800,000 people until Monday, March 13, 2023.
Ramzan is usually the peak season for Umrah.
Umrah is a pilgrimage to Islam’s two holiest sites in the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah and can be performed at any time of the year. It differs from the Haj, which takes place once a year.
