Hyderabad: Hyderabad is soon going to see a new concept of playgrounds under flyovers. The Telangana Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister, KT Rama Rao, on Monday, proposed the idea of building playgrounds under flyovers in the city after being impressed by a viral video of people playing cricket and other sports under a flyover in Mumbai.

The idea of utilizing the space under flyovers is not only innovative but also practical. It not only utilizes the otherwise neglected space but also turns it into a vibrant area for recreational activities. Though, it is not a new concept as it has already been implemented in various cities across the world, it is going to be new for the residents of Hyderabad.

The proposal of playgrounds under flyovers in Hyderabad is a step towards providing better facilities to the people of the state. Apart from promoting sports and fitness activities, the playground will also serve as a social hub for the people. The initiative will promote a healthy lifestyle as people will utilize their leisure time in a constructive manner.

Thinking of the benefits of playgrounds under the flyovers in Hyderabad, KTR tweeted his proposal and wrote, ‘Let’s get this done in a few places in Hyderabad @arvindkumar_ias. Looks like a nice idea.’

This tweet has received a positive response from netizens who have appreciated the minister’s quick response and willingness to implement innovative ideas.

Hyderabad: Telangana MA&UD minister KT Rama Rao (KTR) on Sunday slammed the union government for the delay in the completion of Uppal, Amberpet flyover works in the city.

KTR made the remarks as a response to a query from a Twitter user over the subject.

@KTRBRS Sir when can we expect completion of uppal flyover. Works are going at slow pace. Lot of problem for daily commuters from narapally,” Sandeep, the Twitter user asked the minister.

As a response, KTR said that the works of both the flyovers are ‘unfortunately’ being executed by National Highways.

“Uppal and Amberpet flyovers are unfortunately being executed by National Highways. Both progressing at snails pace even though GHMC has completed the land acquisition as committed While we have completed 35 projects they are unable to complete even 2 !! That’s the Difference between KCR Govt and Modi Govt,” he tweeted.

Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is going to increase the green cover in Hyderabad by installing oxygen parks under flyovers. The aim is to convert vacant spaces under the city’s flyovers into beautiful green spaces, also known as ‘Oxygen Parks.’

Recently, Telangana State Minister for Panchayatraj and Rural Development, Errabelli Dayakar Rao announced the move to convert flyovers in Hyderabad into green spaces. One of the first such facilities is coming up under the Kamineni flyover in the LB Nagar zone.

Under this initiative, authorities will plant saplings with the capacity of releasing more oxygen compared to other regular species.

Vertical gardens on pillars of flyovers in Hyderabad

For more beautification and an increase in green cover, the corporation will install vertical gardens at the pillars of the flyovers in Hyderabad.

The oxygen parks under flyovers in Hyderabad will have a play area for children, comfortable seating arrangements, parking areas, fountains, and sculptures. In the future, more facilities like provision to exercise, walk, or jog are likely to be added to these parks.

Oxygen parks to reduce air pollution in Hyderabad

Apart from increasing lung space in Hyderabad, these oxygen parks under flyovers will also help reduce air pollution in the city. The green cover under the flyovers will help absorb pollutants and provide clean air for the people in the vicinity.

The GHMC’s initiative to convert flyovers in Hyderabad into green spaces is a step in the right direction. It will create a sustainable and healthy environment for the people of the city.

By utilizing the vacant spaces under the flyovers, the city will not only look greener but also be more livable for its citizens.

    Beautification of Hyderabad

Even since the formation of Telangana state, the government is undertaking various works to beautify the city. These projects include the construction of parks, reviving of steep wells, the improvement of tourist spots’ condition, etc.

In order to ease traffic congestion, the government has constructed various flyovers, and model corridors in and around Hyderabad.
