SpiceJet flight returns to Mumbai airport after ‘cabin pressurisation alert’

    [ad_1]

New Delhi: A SpiceJet flight flying from Mumbai to Kandla returned to the Mumbai airport on Saturday due to a ‘cabin pressurisation alert’. The airline said that the aircraft had landed safely and neither passengers nor crew members reported any discomfort.

“SpiceJet Q400 aircraft was scheduled to operate flight SG-2903 (Mumbai-Kandla). After take-off, a cabin pressurisation alert came. The pilot-in-command decided to return to Mumbai. ATC was apprised and the aircraft landed safely at Mumbai,” said a Spicejet spokesperson.

Recently, the Ministry of Civil Aviation in a written reply in the Parliament informed that total 1,090 incidents of technical snags have been reported in various aircraft during 2021 and 2022.

The reply said that technical snags are experienced during operations of aircraft. These may be due to improper functioning/ malfunctions of systems or equipment or components fitted on the aircraft.

“Some of the technical snags may require the flight crew to take actions such as air turn back, aborted take-off, or go around keeping safety of operation in view and are usually taken to avert serious incidents/ accidents. Operators take action to rectify the technical snags based on the guidance provided by the manufacturer before further operating the aircraft,” it said.

Taliban grants flight certificates to three pilots who didn’t see the skyscrapers while flying above New York

    [ad_1]

A photograph of three men holding ‘pilot licence’ with a picture of helicopter embossed on certificate has gone viral on social media. The three bare-footed men wearing traditional Afghani attire can be seen holding certificates in their hands while sitting in an office. A journalist Asaad Sam Hanna shared it on Twitter. He wrote, “Taliban grants flight certificates to the first three pilots in Afghanistan”.

Speaking to The Fauxy, Afghanistan journalist Kabul Khan said “Their final exam happened exactly like Guru Dronacharya took exams of Pandava and asked them if they could see a bird sitting on the tree. However, the result was different in this case. Those who answered yes to – if they could see the skyscrapers while flying above NewYork – were rejected and only these three who didn’t see the skyscrapers were selected“.

Reportedly, the pilots are trained only for take off and mid air fly and not landing so that they perfectly deliver on their mission. Details awaited.

  • Air traffic resumes after flight delays amid snowfall

    [ad_1]

Srinagar, Feb 11 (GNS): After morning hiccups due to snowfall and reduced visibility, flight operations to and fro resumed at Srinagar International airport. While there were no cancellations, the morning delays caused some congestion in the afternoon, officials said.

“Our peak hour passenger capacity is 950. That is 450 arriving and 500 departing passengers,” Director airport Srinagar Kuldeep Singh Rishi said in a tweet, adding, “A slight weather disruption with a few delays results in bunching of several flights and consequent congestion.”

Earlier, he said, visibility at the airport increased from 500M to 1000 M, allowing resumption of the air traffic at the airport.

The operations resumed with the arrival of Vistara (UK643) and SpiceJet (SEJ8963) at the airport, he added.

In the morning, as per GNS, the authorities had to divert a few flights due to reduced visibility amid light snowfall this morning.  (GNS)
