Kathmandu: Flydubai flight FZ 576 from Kathmandu Airport (KTM) to Dubai International (DXB) experienced a bird hit during takeoff from Kathmandu.
After following standard procedure, the flight continued as normal to Dubai and arrived at DXB at 00:14 local time, flydubai spokesperson said.
The aircraft reportedly caught fire after the bird hit. Fire tenders were scrambled at the airport.
Nepal’s Minister of Tourism, Sudan Kirati, too, confirmed that the flight had landed safely in Dubai.
According to the minister, all passengers were safe. Officials said the plane flew on one engine after the bird hit

Recently, a Saudia Airlines cargo flight made an emergency landing at Kolkata Airport after its windshield cracked mid-air, airport officials told ANI.
The aircraft landed safely at the Kolkata Airport at 12:02 pm.
Before the landing, the airport had made all the necessary arrangements.
A full emergency was withdrawn after the flight landed, according to airport officials.
Earlier, an Abu Dhabi-bound Etihad Airways flight returned to the Bangalore International Airport shortly after take-off due to a technical issue.
The airline said the aircraft did a normal landing at Bengaluru airport.
The flight inspection was done and later took off to its destination.
Firefighters try to extinguish the fire in MIDC Nagpur
Nagpur: At least three workers were killed in a major fire that broke out in a factory in the Hingna MIDC in Sonegaon-Nipani area of the district, officials said here on Monday.
The incident occurred around noon at the Katari Agro Pvt. Ltd. plant and teams of firefighters rushed to battle the conflagration.

Plumes of dark smoke were seen billowing out of the factory complex that was visible from long distances, said eyewitnesses.
At least three workers were charred in the blaze, while another three sustained severe burns and were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.
According to unconfirmed reports, some more workers were reportedly trapped inside the blazing factory premises and efforts are on to rescue them, though the cause of the fire is not known.
Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis expressed grief over the tragedy and has directed the Nagpur Collectorate and other agencies to take immediate rescue and relief operations.
He has asked the officials to ensure proper treatment to the injured workers and was monitoring the situation from Mumbai.

Amaravati: Construction material purchased for development of Andhra Pradesh state capital at Amaravati were gutted in a huge fire on Friday.
The incident occurred near Nekkallu village in Thullur mandal of Guntur district. The fire destroyed plastic pipes and other material dumped in open land for various works as part of development of the state capital.
As the material was dumped there for the last four years due to construction work coming to a halt, beehives were formed in the pipelines and other items. Some people had lit a fire to extract honey. Due to high temperature and wind, the fire spread and engulfed the material.
Huge flames and smoke were seen even from a long distance. Fire tenders rushed to the area to douse the flame. The incident is stated to have led to a huge loss.
The state capital development works at Amaravati came to halt in 2019 as YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) soon after coming to power decided to have three state capitals.
SRINAGAR: People should be aware of fire safety measures and follow those in letter and spirit to control situations during fire incidents, said Towseef Hussain, Assistant Director of Fire and Emergency Services Budgam.
Talking on the sidelines of an event marking the culmination of the Fire Service Week, the officer said, “To control the situation and minimise losses during fire incidents, the most important thing is educating people about fire safety precautions. They should also strictly adhere to the instructions.”
The programme was aimed at raising awareness among the public regarding fire safety measures. Students and employees also participated in the event which included various competitions.
The J&K Fire and Emergency Department organised Fire Safety Week, which began on April 14, to commemorate the firefighters who lost their lives in the line of duty.
In the programme AGNI (Awareness in Fire Safety for Growth of National Infrastructure), students from various schools across Budgam participated in essay writing and lecture competitions. The top three winners received cash prizes and certificates, while all participants received medals and appreciation for their participation.

Jammu/New Delhi: Five Army soldiers were killed on Thursday after their vehicle caught fire while moving from Bhimber Gali to Sangiot in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.
An Army official said the incident took place at around 3 pm.
“Today, at about 1500 hours, one vehicle of the Indian Army, while moving from Bhimber Gali to Sangiot in District Poonch (J&K), caught fire,” he said.
“In this tragic incident five soldiers of the Indian Army have lost their lives,” he said.
It is not immediately known how the vehicle caught fire.

Official sources told GNS that the incident took places in Bhatadhurian area of Mendhar Sub Division in Poonch this afternoon.

Srinagar: A residential house was damaged in a fire mishap in Bemina area in central Kashmir’s Srinagar district on Wednesday afternoon, officials said.
They said that a fire broke out in a single-storey residential house at Firdous Colony Bemina Srinagar, damaging its attic and roof.
“The timely response from the F&ES official prevented the fire from spreading further”, he added. (GNS)
Srikakulam: Around 90 electric vehicles inside a showroom in Andhra Pradesh’s Srikaluma district were gutted in a fire that broke out while charging, officials said on Wednesday.
The officials said that the fire quickly spread to the adjacent hardware store.
However, no casualty or injury was reported in the incident so far.
Upon receiving the information, fire tenders were pressed into service to douse the blaze, they said.
“An incident occurred while charging electric bikes in a bike showroom. Around 90 bikes were burnt in flames,” officials said.
“Rescue operation was underway till the filing of this report,” they said.
