  • Congress’ ‘Haath se haath Jodo’ programme to start in Telangana from Feb 6

Congress’ ‘Haath se haath Jodo’ programme to start in Telangana from Feb 6

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president A Revanth Reddy would commence his ‘Hath Se Hath Jodo’ padayatra at Medaram in Mulugu mandal of Warangal district on February 6.

Party state in-charge and All India Congress Committee (AICC) leader Manikrao Thakre would participate in the programme as chief guest.

“After the Bharat Jodo Yatra by Rahul Gandhi, the Congress party has taken up ‘Haath se Haath Jodo’ to take Rahul Gandhi’s message to every house in all states. We have discussed spreading Rahul Gandhi’s message to every house. We have decided that the PCC chairman will start this on the 6th of this month. All the leaders will start this yatra from different places. We have also decided who is taking responsibility for which area,” Manikrao Thakre said.

He further said that there will be a break for three days – February 24, 25 and 26- as the AICC meetings are scheduled at Raipur in Chhattisgarh, and it would be resumed later.

“We will take the message of Rahul Gandhi and also the forgotten promises of the BJP at the centre and KCR government in the state to the people through this program,” Thakre said.

All Congress leaders in the State would commence similar yatras at their convenience in their areas to take the message of Rahul Gandhi to every house in Telangana.

TPCC Chief Revanth Reddy, while briefing the media about the programme said that 7 Assemblies in the Mahbubabad district will be covered in ten days.

“7 Assemblies in Mahbubabad district will be covered in ten days. All the leaders in all levels will participate in this. As there is not enough to assign new Mandal party presidents and committees, this program will be taken up by the previous leadership itself. Previously, YSR had undertaken a padayatra from Chevella during the TDP rule. The Congress party came to power after that. Congress has brought many welfare schemes not only in the state but also in the centre. The padayatra at the time helped bring the party to power in the state and centre. Telangana is now facing the same crisis situation as it was during Chandrababu Naidu’s rule in 2003,” Reddy said.

He further said that the party has picked up Medaram for beginning the programme as it is the place of Sammakka Saralamma (tribal gods) who fought against the kings and monarchy.

“Congress party will bring confidence in the people. MLA Seethakka has fought for poor people and also done a lot of service during Covid. Thus we are starting this program from the constituency of MLA Seethakka. Medaram is the place of Sammakka Saralamma (tribal gods) who fought against the kings and monarchy. We will continue to fight with the same inspiration against the government that is disturbing the people,” Reddy said.

Coming down heavily on the BJP and the Bharat Rashtra Samithi, Reddy said that both parties have worked together in all bills and all elections in the last 8 years.

“At a time when people were looking towards the Congress, those two opened the curtain for a play to show that they are criticising each other and used the Raj Bhavan and Pragati Bhavan as a stage for it. The Governor did the work of praising KCR in the assembly with raw lies. The Governor has changed into a brand ambassador and spread lies to cover the failures of KCR. Let us go to any village of any MLA and inspect if there is water in every house. The governor tried to cover the lies of KCR. Congress is the only party that stands against BRS in the state. BJP and BRS policies are all the same. We have been saying from earlier that those two parties are one,” he added.

  • Modi to dedicate HAL’s helicopter factory in Karnataka to nation on Feb 6

Modi to dedicate HAL’s helicopter factory in Karnataka to nation on Feb 6

    [ad_1]

Bengaluru: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will dedicate to the nation a helicopter factory of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) at Tumakuru in Karnataka on February 6.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and senior officials of the Ministry of Defence will also be present on the occasion.

The Greenfield Helicopter Factory, spread across 615 acres of land, is planned with a vision of becoming a one-stop solution for all helicopter requirements of the country.

It is India’s largest helicopter manufacturing facility and will initially produce Light Utility Helicopters (LUHs).

The LUH is an indigenously designed and developed 3-tonne class, single-engine multipurpose utility helicopter with unique features of high maneuverability.

Initially, this factory will produce around 30 helicopters per year and can be enhanced to 60 and then 90 per year in a phased manner.

The first LUH has been flight tested and is ready for unveiling.

The factory will be augmented to produce other helicopters such as Light Combat Helicopters (LCHs) and Indian Multirole Helicopters (IMRHs).

It will also be used for Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul of LCH, LUH, Civil Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) and IMRH in the future. Potential exports of civil LUH will also be catered to from this factory.

The HAL plans to produce more than 1,000 helicopters in the range of 3-15 tonnes, with a total business of over Rs 4 lakh crore over a period of 20 years.

Besides generating direct and indirect employment, the Tumakuru facility will boost the development of surrounding areas through its CSR activities with large-scale community-centric programmes on which the company will spend substantial amounts. All this will result in improvement in the people’s lives in the region.

The proximity of the factory, with the existing HAL facilities in Bengaluru, will boost the aerospace manufacturing ecosystem in the region and support skill and infrastructure development such as schools, colleges and residential areas.

Medical and health care would also reach the community residing in the various nearby Panchayats.

With the establishment of facilities like heli-runway, flight hangar, final assembly hangar, structure assembly hangar, air traffic control and various supporting service facilities, the factory is fully operational.

This factory is being equipped with state-of-the-art Industry 4.0 standard tools and techniques for its operations.

The foundation stone of the facility was laid by the Prime Minister in 2016.

This factory will enable India to meet its entire requirement of helicopters without imports and give a much needed fillip to the Prime Minister’s vision of ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ in helicopter design, development, and manufacture, an official said.

BRS to hold public meet in Nanded on Feb 5, pins hope on joinings from Maharashtra

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: The stage is set for Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao-led BRS Party to hold its first meeting outside Telangana in Nanded, Maharashtra, on Sunday.

It would be the second public meeting of BRS after Khammam.

Telangana Minister for Endowments Indrakaran Reddy and some senior leaders of the party are on a regular visit to the neighbouring State to oversee the arrangements including crowd mobilisation plans.

“The focus of the meeting is to encourage joinings in the party. The party is expecting some key leaders of the region to join BRS,” sources told PTI.

Rao is likely to visit a famous gurudwara in Nanded and offer prayers before the meeting, they further said. Nanded was chosen as the district has a sizeable population of Telugu-speaking people due to its proximity to Telangana.

KCR, as Rao is also known as, had earlier told reporters that several villages in the neighbouring State want to merge with Telangana, attracted by the welfare and developmental schemes being implemented by his government.

Asserting that the BRS’ slogan in the run-up to 2024 general elections would be Ab ki baar kisan sarkar’ (This time, a government for farmers), KCR recently said Maharashtra continues to witness the highest number of farmers’ suicides despite being one of the richest States.

According to political analysts, the focus of Rao’s speech would be around farmers’ issues in the Nanded meeting.

BRS would also be holding a public meeting on February 17 at the Parade Ground in Secunderabad and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin, his Jharkhand counterpart Hemant Soren, Bihar Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav, JD(U) National President Lalan Singh as representative of Bihar CM Nitish Kumar and Dr B R Ambedkar’s grandson Prakash Ambedkar among other dignitaries would attend it, Telangana Roads and Buildings Minister Vemula Prashant Reddy had said in a release a few days ago.

Before the public meeting, the leaders would also be attending the inaugural ceremony of the new Secretariat complex of Telangana here on that day.

The building named after B R Ambedkar would be inaugurated by KCR between 11.30 AM and 12.30 PM on February 17, an auspicious time suggested by Vedic pundits, Reddy had said.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will dedicate to the nation a helicopter production facility of state-run aerospace behemoth Hindustan Aeronautics Limited in Karnataka’s Tumakuru on Monday.

  • Cong calls protest on Feb 6 over Hindenburg report on Adani

Cong calls protest on Feb 6 over Hindenburg report on Adani

    [ad_1]

New Delhi: The Congress party has decided to hold nationwide district level protests on Monday, February 6, in front of the Life Insurance Corporation office and the State Bank of India office here over the Hindenburg report.

“The government can’t jeopardize the hard earned money of the people of India to profit the crony friends of the Prime Minister.” said KC Venugopal, party general secretary.

He said the LIC has invested Rs 36,474.78 crore in the Adani Group whereas Indian banks together have invested nearly Rs 80,000 crore in the group. They continue to do so even when there are allegations of stock manipulation, accounting fraud and other malfeasance.

The group has lost $100 billion since the Hindenberg report came out.

All the Pradesh Congress Committees have been requested to issue the necessary instructions to the District Congress Committees so that apart from senior leaders, party functionaries and workers, mobilisation from the BCC, Panchayat and Booth level is ensured in full measure.

The Congress is also demanding a JPC probe or an enquiry under the supervision of the Chief Justice of India into the Adani saga, involving hundreds of thousands of crores of public money.

He said that amidst the all round gloom due to unprecedented unemployment, uncontrolled inflation and economic distress, the Modi government was expected to present a budget which addressed these urgent concerns of the people.

“Sadly, the characteristically insensitive and callous government, rather than acting to safeguard the people’s interest and stop the squandering and loot of public money, is still single mindedly bent on helping PM Modi’s friends, blatantly throwing all caution and prudence to the winds,” he said.

  • Telangana Assembly session to begin from Feb 3 with Governor’s address

Telangana Assembly session to begin from Feb 3 with Governor’s address

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: The Telangana Assembly Session is all set to start from Friday with Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan’s address in the joint session (Assembly and Council) on the first day.

Sources said Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao government has already provided a speech copy to the Governor.
“Letters have been set to all MLAs and MLCs regarding the joint session and Governor’s speech. The duration of the session will be decided in the Business Advisory Committee meeting after the Governor’s speech,” sources told PTI.
The government likely to table the State Budget next week.

The Governor has already issued a notification summoning the Assembly session beginning from February 3, ending speculation on whether there would be her speech or not in the session.

After the patch-up with the Raj Bhavan, the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao-led government on January 30 evening approached Soundararajan requesting her to give assent to the Budget document and address the session for which she agreed.

A row broke out last year when the Governor’s customary address to the Assembly did not take place.

Soundararajan, who assumed the office of Governor in 2019, has been complaining of the state government not following protocol with regard to her office for more than a year.

She has pointed out about officials not turning up as per protocol during her visits to districts, even as she maintained that it is not about her as an individual and that the office of the Governor should be respected.

The ruling BRS leaders denied the government disrespecting her.

The differences between the BRS government and Raj Bhavan came to the fore once again on January 26 with KCR staying away from the Republic Day celebrations held at the Raj Bhavan here.

In a dramatic turn of events, the Telangana government on January 30 moved a Lunch Motion before the Telangana High Court seeking a direction to the Governor to approve the file pertaining to budget presentation.

However, following an advice from the Court, advocates of the state government and the Raj Bhavan held discussions and informed the court that they both came to an understanding and hence the court can dispose of the petition.

During the discussions, it was agreed that there will an address by the Governor during the Budget Session and the speech copy would be furnished by the State government.

Earlier that day, the government knocked the door of the High Court stating that the State government was yet to receive the Governor’s approval to the budget to be presented in the Assembly Session beginning Friday.

The court expressed its opinion that the both the constitutional functionaries should resolve amicably and come to an understanding.

As per the discussions, there will be a Governor’s Budget Speech this time, Advocate General BS Prasad had said.
