Saurav Gurjar targets Kapil Sharma, his team for using fake comments

    [ad_1]

Mumbai: ‘Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva’ actor and WWE superstar Saurav Gurjar has slammed Kapil Sharma and his team for creating ‘fake comments’ on his picture with Ranbir Kapoor on Instagram as part of the ‘Post Ka Postmortem’ segment on The Kapil Sharma Show.

As Ranbir appeared on the show as a celebrity guest on Saturday, Kapil shared Saurav’s picture with him from inside the gym, and in the picture, he was seen lifting Ranbir on his back.

Kapil asked Ranbir about Saurav and introduced him by saying he was there in the film ‘Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva’ but he also asserted that he doesn’t remember why suddenly he jumped on his back.

Later, Kapil started reading the comments on the picture.

One of them reads: “Kuch logon ko aise hi gym laana padta hai (Some people have to be brought to the gym like this).”

While in the other comment said: “Inko 70kg ka dumble chahiye tha… nahi mila toh Ranbir ko utha liya (He needed a dumbbell of 70 kg, but since he didn’t get it, he picked up Ranbir).”

“Lagta hai, Ranbir ne nayi gaadi li hai! B M BABLU (It seems Ranbir has bought a new car…B M Bablu),” the last comment said.

Saurav shared a video of the episode, all these comments and tweeted: You (addressing Kapil Sharma) are a good human being… you make people laugh but how could you and your team show fake comments on someone’s social media? This is not acceptable.”

On Saurav’s Instagram account, the same comments were posted on Monday.

    The episode aired on Saturday.

Kapil has not yet responded to the allegation.

SRINAGAR: Former JK Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Monday took to the microblogging site Twitter to welcome the life sentence recommended for an Army captain in connection with the killing of three civilians in a staged encounter in Amshipura, Shopian in July 2020.

“Recommended punishment of life imprisonment for Captain involved in Amshipora fake encounter is a welcome step towards creating accountability in such cases. Hope an impartial probe is also ordered in Lawapora & Hyderpora encounters to prevent repetition of such ghastly incidents,” PDP Chief tweeted.

The court-martial proceedings, which found that Captain Bhupendra Singh exceeded his powers under the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act (AFSPA), were completed in less than a year.

Reports suggest life sentence is subject to confirmation by higher Army authorities.

Fake investment declarations bring no jobs, Nara Lokesh takes a dig at AP govt

    [ad_1]

Amaravati: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) general secretary Nara Lokesh on Monday said fake investments declarations will bring no jobs to the people of Andhra Pradesh. He was referring to the chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy’s recent announcement of investment proposals worth Rs 13 lakh crore at the Global Investors Summit (GIS).

Jagan on Friday said the state has received investment proposals worth Rs 13 lakh crore with an employment opportunity for six lakh people.

Lokesh accused the Andhra Pradesh government of deceiving the people by re-announcing old investment deals at the recently held Global Investors Summit with companies like Aurobindo, Greenko and Adani.

Speaking to the media at Vepulabayalu in Annamayya district, Lokesh said, “On forging any deal, governments openly declare all the details. During Chandrababu Naidu’s regime all information regarding investments and deals was exhibited online.”

“The YSRCP-led government is not showcasing any MoUs, agreements, deals, endorsements from the companies on documents,” Lokesh said, adding that the government and the companies have exchanged MoUs in “non-paper format only.”

He claimed that the company Indosol began with an initial investment of Rs 1 lakh but the company announced investments worth Rs 76,000 crore in the state.

“All the directors of the company are from Pulivendula,” said Lokesh about Indosol. “Jagan is offering 25,000 acres of land to this company. Another company, ACB, with a turnover of Rs 120 crores that employs 250 people has promised an investment of Rs 1.2 lakh crores. How can we believe it?” he questioned.

Speaking about the absence of Andhra Pradesh at WEF 2023 summit in Davos, he said, “Jagan conveniently missed the World Economic Forum in 2023. Can any aspiring state afford to miss a forum like WEF?”

On investment opportunities created by the TDP government, Lokesh said, “Between 2014 and 2019, we established a plethora of industries. Speaking in the Assembly, the late Mekapati Goutham Reddy said that 39,450 industries were established between 2014 and 2019 by the erstwhile TDP government, creating 5,13,350 jobs.”

    [ad_1]

SRINAGAR: An army court has recommended a life sentence for Captain Bhupendra Singh for his involvement in the killing of three civilians in a staged encounter in Amshipura, Shopian, in July 2020. The court-martial proceedings, which found that Captain Singh exceeded his powers under the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act (AFSPA), were completed in less than a year.

LG JK Manoj Sinha paying his condolences to the families of three Rajouri labourers on October 8, 2020. The trio was killed in a fake encounter in Shopian on July 18, 2020.

A Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed by the Jammu and Kashmir Police charged three people, including Captain Singh, for “staging a fake encounter”. Reports suggest that higher army authorities will need to confirm the sentence.

The three youths, who came from the Rajouri district of Jammu, were killed in a remote hilly village in Shopian district on July 18, 2020, and were falsely labelled as “militants”. Social media raised concerns about the killings, leading to the army forming a Court of Inquiry that found evidence that the troops had exceeded their powers under AFSPA.

The JKP’s SIT charge sheet alleges that Captain Singh provided false information to his superiors and the police about the staged encounter. The three accused allegedly destroyed evidence and spread false information as part of a criminal conspiracy aimed at receiving cash rewards, the SIT that was investigating the case in a parallel investigation had stated. However, the army denied that Captain Singh staged the encounter for a cash reward, claiming no such system exists for any acts in combat situations or otherwise in the line of duty.

During the court martial proceedings, Mohammed Yusuf, Abrar Ahmed’s father, was called upon to provide a missing report about his son. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha visited the families in Rajouri and conveyed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s message that the government would support them. Through a DNA test, the three youths’ identities were confirmed, and their bodies were returned to their families and buried in their native village in Rajouri.

  • Atiq Ahmed moves SC claiming he may be killed in fake encounter by UP police

Atiq Ahmed moves SC claiming he may be killed in fake encounter by UP police

    [ad_1]

New Delhi: Jailed former Samajwadi Party MP and gangster Atiq Ahmed on Wednesday moved the Supreme Court for protection, claiming that he and his family have been falsely “roped in” as accused in the Umesh Pal murder case in Prayagraj and he may be killed in a fake encounter by the Uttar Pradesh Police.

In his plea, Ahmed, who is presently lodged at the central jail Ahmedabad in Gujarat, has referred to the statement made by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on the floor of the Assembly to “completely ruin and destroy” him and claimed there is a “genuine and perceptible threat” to his and his family members’ lives.

He said the Uttar Pradesh Police in all likelihood will seek his transit remand and also police remand to take him from Ahmedabad to Prayagraj and he “genuinely apprehends that he may be eliminated during this transit period”.

In his plea filed in the apex court, 61-year-old Ahmed has sought directions to the Centre, state of Uttar Pradesh and others to protect his life against the “open, direct and immediate threat” to his life from high state functionaries of Uttar Pradesh.

“After the murder of Umesh Pal, Opposition put fuel in the fire in the House which provoked the CM to say… ‘mafia ko mitti me mila doonga’ because petitioner was the main subject in argument in House,” the plea said.

“Petitioner (Ahmed) genuinely apprehends and believes that the petitioner may be killed in a fake encounter on one pretext or the other by UP police particularly in view of the statement made by the Chief Minister of state of UP on the floor of the house,” the plea alleged.

Umesh Pal, who was the prime witness in then BSP MLA Raju Pal’s murder in 2005, and his police security guard Sandeep Nishad were shot dead on Friday last outside his home in Dhoomanganj area of Prayagraj.

Umesh Pal was a key witness in the 2005 MLA murder case in Prayagraj in which Ahmed and others are prime accused.

Arbaaz, an accused in the Umesh Pal murder case, was killed in an encounter with the police on Monday. Dhoomanganj police station SHO Rajesh Maurya was also injured in the encounter.

The petition was filed on a day the Prayagraj Development Authority (PDA) demolished the house of a close aide of Ahmed.

Prayagraj Development Authority secretary Ajit Singh said the house belonging to Zafar Ahmed has been bulldozed. He said Atiq Ahmed’s wife Shaista Parveen used to stay in the same house earlier.

“The said house was constructed without getting its map (naksha) passed from the authority and a notice regarding the same was issued in the past. Most of the house was destroyed by the afternoon,” the officer said.

Meanwhile, in his plea, Ahmed sought a direction to the Centre to ensure his safety and security and that no physical or bodily injury or any other harm is caused to him and his family members.

He has sought directions restraining the state of Uttar Pradesh and others from taking him from Ahmedabad to Prayagraj or any part of Uttar Pradesh.

He has requested that his interrogation, if any, be carried out at the Central Jail Ahmedabad or at any other suitable place in Ahmedabad itself under the protection of Gujarat Police as well as central or paramilitary forces.

He has sought the top court’s direction for his transit from Ahmedabad to Uttar Pradesh under the protection of any central police or paramilitary force if at all the transit is necessary.

He has sought a direction allowing his advocate to remain present during his interrogation and also to quash the warrants against him, if issued by any court, for taking him to Prayagraj from central jail Ahmedabad.

The plea claimed that the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, without any investigation and merely on the basis of suspicion, had made a statement on the floor of the state Assembly that Ahmed will be “destroyed and eliminated completely”.

“In such circumstances, the petitioner is constrained to file the present writ petition under Article 32 of the Constitution of India before this court for the protection of his life guaranteed under Article 21 of the Constitution of India,” it said.

The plea claimed the petitioner and his family members have no connection in the Umesh Pal murder case and it seems that a conspiracy has been hatched to completely wipe out him and his entire family politically as well physically by falsely roping them in this case.

It alleged that two minor sons of Ahmed have already been taken into “illegal custody” by the police since February 24 and they are kept at an undisclosed location.

“It is even unknown to the petitioner whether they are dead or alive. The other two sons of the petitioner are also in jail in other false cases,” it said, adding that the petitioner fears for the safety of his family members and has apprehensions that they may be killed in a fake encounter.

The plea alleged that the petitioner and his family members have been falsely implicated and named in the FIR due to political and various other reasons and the main reason seems to be that his wife has joined the BSP and the party has declared her as a candidate for the post of Mayor in the forthcoming election.

“It was very well known to the rivals of the petitioner that if anything were to happen to Umesh Pal, then the petitioner would certainly be the prime suspect in view of the pending case against him by Umesh Pal and he will be made an accused. The same has been done,” the plea claimed.

Fake Flight Lt held for duping over 100 youth on pretext of IAF career

    [ad_1]

New Delhi: A man, impersonating a Flight Lieutenant and duping over 100 unemployed youth in the name of providing a career in the Indian Air Force, has been arrested, a Delhi Police official said on Thursday.

The accused has been identified as Kamal Sharma, 39, a resident of Vikas Vihar in west Delhi.

According to police, a grievance was reported on Cyber Crime Reporting Portal from a female complainant, who stated that she had come across a person through online mode who runs an NGO namely “We Eliminate Poverty Now”.

“After some time, he introduced himself as an Air Force gazetted Officer (Flying Lieutenant) and defrauded her of Rs 12 lakh in the name of a job in the Indian Air Force. The man, Kamal, also sent a letter for medical examination and letter of appointment to the complainant via WhatsApp and mail,” Deputy Commissioner of Police, Outer North, Ravi Kumar Singh, said.

“But later on, after a long time when she had lost her hope to have a job in IAF, she started requesting her money back from the accused but in vain. Thereafter she got a complaint lodged. After a preliminary enquiry, an FIR was registered in the matter and investigation was taken up,” he said.

During the investigation, a police team tasked with investigation collected WhatsApp chat history screenshots, mail id details, bank and UPI transactions history.

“Sharma used to communicate to the complainant only via WhatsApp calls and chats. The details were sought from WhatsApp, Banks and Wallets. On the technical leads, the accused was traced out at Bengaluru in a hotel with a fake Identity Card of Flying Lieutenant and three smartphones,” said the DCP.

The DCP further said that Sharma is a habitual offender and three FIRs are also registered against him in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh.

Sharma was well versed with the internal information of the IAF and using it to defraud people in the name of a lucrative career in the service.

Police investigation done so far has revealed that he had defrauded candidates from different cities like Bengalurue, Chennai, Hyderabad, Ahmadabad, Jodhpur, Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Panaji, Kochi, Bidar, Patna, Jammu, and Belgaum.

“He used to meet people in IAF uniform in order to influence them,” said the official, adding that investigation of the case is in progress.

TMC misleading backward castes in Bengal with fake assurances: BJP

    [ad_1]

Kolkata: Accusing the Mamata Banerjee government in West Bengal of misleading members of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe communities with “fake assurances”, BJP leader Sudip Das on Monday asked them to be “cautious” about the ruling dispensation’s game plan in future.

Das, who led a rally of backward caste members of the BJP in Esplanade, said the TMC-controlled government is only interested in appeasing the minority community, overlooking the welfare of SC, ST and OBC members.

“When it comes to delivering on the promises made to backward caste community members, including Matuas, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee always fails. Members of Dalit and general category are overlooked when it comes to hiring them for state government jobs,” he alleged.

In sharp contrast to the “double-faced policy” of the TMC regime, the BJP government at the Centre has shown its commitment to backward caste and Dalits by nominating personalities like Ramnath Kovind and Droupadi Murmu for the post of President, Das, the BJP state SC Morcha chief, said.

“There are around 2.20 crore members of various backward communities in the state with several assembly seats reserved for them. If we all get together against the injustice meted out by the state government, the hypocrite anti-Dalit TMC can be defeated,” he stated.

Das also claimed that “majority of those killed in TMC terror after the 2021 assembly poll results belonged to the backward caste”.

The rally, attended by over 500 members of SC, ST and OBC members, was also addressed by BJP MLA Ambica Roy and several other leaders belonging to the morcha.

Making light of the allegation, TMC state spokesperson Kunal Ghosh said that his party gives little importance to what the BJP says.

“None should teach us ways to show respect to Matua community members. Our chairperson Mamata Banerjee has been a great admirer of Matua sect founder Harichand Thakur and ‘Baroma’ Binapani Devi.

“The TMC has always worked for the welfare of backward community members including Matuas,” he added.
