UAE: Private companies must hire Emirati staff by July 1 or face fines

    [ad_1]

Abu Dhabi: The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation said private sector companies in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) need to hire more Emiratis by July 1 or face fines.

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation sent out a reminder informing private sector companies that they have less than four months to achieve the new targets or face fines.

By the end of 2022, UAE companies have been instructed to ensure that at least 2 per cent of employees are Emiratis.

This number should increase by another 2 per cent each year until it reaches 10 per cent in 2026.

However, a UAE cabinet decision changed the rule earlier this year.

The annual emirate target is now divided throughout the year by 1 per cent in the first six months of the year and the other 1 per cent in the second half.

MoHRE tweeted, “A UAE Cabinet resolution on modifying the mechanism for achieving Emiratisation targets at private sector companies with 50 employees or more came into force.”

“The overall mechanism for achieving the targeted Emiratisation rates has not changed; it became semi-annual instead of annual. Companies with 50 employees or more are required to achieve an increase of 1 per cent of skilled jobs every six months and reach a growth rate of 2 per cent by the end of the year,” MoHRE adds.

MoHRE continued, “The annual 2 per cent Emiratisation growth for skilled jobs in 2022 for private sector companies and the 10 per cent goal for 2026 have not been changed in this resolution,”

“The resolution aims to accelerate achieving Emiratisation targets and employing UAE nationals in the private sector throughout the year,” MoHRE added.

Currently, companies that fail to meet the targets will be fined 6,000 Dirhams (Rs 1,33,389) per month or 72,000 Dirhams (Rs 16,00,668) per year. The fine will be paid in one installment.

The value of monthly fines imposed on private sector entities will gradually increase at a rate of 1,000 Dirhams (Rs 22,231) per year until 2026.

Karnataka shocker: Couple fined Rs 6 lakh for inter-caste marriage, face boycott

    [ad_1]

Chamarajanagar: In a shocking development in Karanataka’s Chamarajanagar district, a couple was fined and faced a boycott in their village for their inter-caste marriage.

The incident had taken place at Kunagalli village in Kollegal taluk in the district. According to police, the couple got married five years ago but the villagers came to know about their different castes only recently.

The villagers had fined the couple Rs 6 lakh and boycotted them in the village. The couple were not able to take the humiliation and filed a complaint with police in Kollegal on March 1.

Govindaraju, belonging to the Uppara Setty community, had fallen in love with Shwetha, from Mandya, belonging to the Scheduled Castes. When they decided to get married, the families of the boy and the girl agreed without opposition and their marriage was solemnised in the sub-registrar’s office.

Govindaraju settled in Malavalli, but often came to visit his parents, along with his wife, in Kunagalli. When the couple came there last month, Shwetha, talking to her neighbour, had disclosed that she is a Dalit.

The matter reached the elders of the village and they held a meeting on February 23. They called the parents of the couple and imposed a Rs 3 lakh fine on them and asked them to pay the fine by March 1.

After the couple had lodged a complaint with police against 12 persons of the village in this connection, the elders, after coming to know about the complaint, increased the fine amount to Rs 6 lakh and boycotted Govindaraju’s family from the village.

The villagers have sent the family out of the village and passed a diktat that they should not purchase rations, vegetables, milk, and water from the village.

The authorities have taken up the investigation.

Passenger’s face to become boarding pass at Riyadh Airport

    [ad_1]

Riyadh: Riyadh Airports company has announced the implementation of the ‘Smart Travel Journey’ experiment at Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, which will recognize passengers through their digital faceprint, without boarding passes.

Riyadh Airports is implementing this smart service in cooperation with the international company SITA.

SITA Smart Path solution enables efficient biometric registration, whereby passengers will become their own boarding passes just by looking at the SITA FacePod camera. The passenger’s face becomes his boarding pass.

Riyadh Airports posted a video on Twitter showing the new system and the benefits of the trial.

“In an important step to transform the capital’s airport into a smart airport in which we seek to reach customer satisfaction, #Riyadh_Airports, in cooperation with the international company SITA @SITAonline, succeeded in implementing the “Smart Travel Journey” experience at #King_Khalid_International Airport to identify the digital face print of passengers without the need to travel documents,” Riyadh Airports tweeted.

    Watch the video below

The use of digital faceprint is also an important step to transform King Khalid International Airport into a smart airport that facilitates and reduces the time of important travel procedures.

Thus, Riyadh Airports aims to take advantage of the digital face print technology at the capital’s airport to raise the quality and speed of travel procedures, which helps to improve the passenger experience and raise the level of customer service.

The Kingdom continues to facilitate travel procedures, as it was recently announced that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs launched a free transit visa for visitors coming by air, and a study visa was also launched for students from all over the world to study, in addition to the Kingdom’s plans to build the largest airport in the world, the King Salman International Airport.

“He has denied meeting and document requests, skirted congressional oversight attempts, and refused to answer any of the serious questions we have asked,” Sanders said in a statement. “Unfortunately, Mr. Schultz has given us no choice, but to subpoena him.”

The Senate HELP Committee, which Sanders leads, will vote on the subpoena March 8.

It will also vote on whether to authorize an investigation into “major corporations’ labor law violations,” according to the statement from Sanders’ office.

The votes will be followed by a hearing on union organizing that will include testimony from several labor leaders, among them AFL-CIO President Liz Schuler.

Starbucks last month declined to have Schultz testify for a hearing scheduled March 9. Sanders and committee Democrats asked him to speak about the company’s compliance with federal labor law and its treatment of pro-union workers.

Starbucks offered its chief public affairs officer and executive vice president, AJ Jones, in lieu of Schultz, citing the CEO’s planned departure from the helm of the coffee chain.

  • BJP will face defeat in Telangana Assembly election: Asaduddin Owaisi

BJP will face defeat in Telangana Assembly election: Asaduddin Owaisi

    [ad_1]

Mumbai: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Saturday stated that the Bharatiya Janata Party would see defeat in Telangana in the upcoming election like the previous ones.

Attacking the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the AIMIM chief said that if the regional parties come together, BJP can be defeated.

“In Telangana, BJP lost the 2014 and 2018 elections. This year also in December 2023 BJP will lose the Telangana elections again. Give us some credit for that,” Owaisi said.

The AIMIM chief also said that it would contest the next Lok Sabha elections from Aurangabad and also look into the possibility of an alliance with other political parties for the upcoming elections.

Owaisi said, “We will contest the next Lok Sabha elections from Aurangabad and other seats and look into the possibility of an alliance with some other parties. It’s a bit early to comment on with whom we will go in the next elections.”

Hitting out at the Rajasthan government (Congress) on the Bhiwani killing, the AIMIM chief said, “Some are spreading hatred against the Muslim community but no action against them. Rajasthan government can attend Bharat Jodo across the country, Royal wedding in Alwar but they can’t go to the place where Junaid and Nasir were killed.”

Earlier on February 23, AIMIM Chief said, if Junaid & Nasir were not Muslim, Ashok Gehlot would have rushed there till now. Unfortunately, Congress was busy attending a royal wedding in Alwar when the Bhiwani killings happened.

On February 16 (Thursday) morning Haryana Police recovered two charred skeletons inside an SUV car near Barawas village in Haryana’s Bhiwani district. The car had also been set on fire.

The Rajasthan Police booked a Bajrang Dal member Monu Manesar for his alleged involvement in the matter triggering a protest by the Hindu outfits including VHP. The FIR also named some other VHP leaders for alleged kidnapping and thrashing the two victims from Rajasthan who were found dead in Bhiwani and were later identified as Junaid and Nasir. It was alleged that the two were involved in cow smuggling.

  • Woman burns her face while trying to remove the wrinkles with a steam iron

Woman burns her face while trying to remove the wrinkles with a steam iron

    [ad_1]

As women get older their skin changes and it no longer looks plump and youthful. Wrinkles around the eyes, often known as crow’s feet, is one of the most common skin problem faced by women growing old. Women use various cosmetics and surgeries to reverse the signs of ageing, and most of them are expensive and risky. Some women go to any extent to get those wrinkles removed. One such example of woman going to an extreme to get her wrinkles removed came from Philadelphia.

Reportedly, Jessica, 44 year, from Philadelhipa was fed up with the cosmetics and surgeries which couldn’t prevent her wrinkles and as a final resort tried to iron her face with a steam iron. Jessica partially burned her face. Speaking to The Fauxy, Jessica said “I was ironing my cloth and realised that steam iron helps in getting rid of  wrinkles. I have tried all types of cosmetics and even surgery but nothing helped. I also tried Instagram filters but people started asking why I always keep phone with Instagram camera on in front of my face. I was fed up and hence, decided to steam iron my face”.

Jessica has to now undergo plastic surgery and she has asked her surgeons to keep the wrinkle free plastic on her face. Speaking to The Fauxy, the surgeon said “Steam iron removes wrinkles from cloths, so if she really wanted to get rid of wrinkles she should have put a clot on her face before ironing it”.

Jessica isn’t alone to go this far to get rid of wrinkles, a lady in India reached Bhagweshwar Dham to get her wrinkles removed.
