  • Annual board exams of classes 10th to 12th in hard zones to commence from April-08

    Srinagar, Mar 23: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (BOSE) Thursday released date sheets of 10th to 12th standard annual regular exams in hard area zones of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh Union Territories.

    According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the exams in the hard zones will commence from April-08.

    BOSE has said that exams of vocational subjects for class-10 will commence from April-08 while the exams for core papers will begin from April-10.

    The examination of 10th standard in hard zones culminates on May-04 in core subjects and May-09 in other subjects.

    Likewise, the examinations of 11th standard in the hard zones commences from April-12 and culminates on May-14,

    Similarly, the annual regular board exam of 12th standard in hard zones begins from April-11 and culminates on May-15 respectively.

    Pertinently, the BOSE had identified 444 such schools in the both divisions of Jammu and Kashmir for which annual regular examinations will be held in the month of April instead of March.

    Besides, the Board has also declared the whole Leh district of Union Territory of Ladakh as a hard zone and has accordingly directed to conduct the exams in the Month of April.

    It had also said that the annual regular examination of hard zones or such areas of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh shall be held in the month of April.

    “Result of annual regular examination of Kashmir Division and Jammu division and Union territory of Ladakh including hard zones shall be declared simultaneously in the month of June,” BOSE said in a previous notification—(KNO)

    Telangana BC study circle to provide free coaching for Group-I exams

    Hyderabad: The Telangana State Backward Classes Employability, Skill Development, and Training Centre, better known as BC Study Circles, has issued an open call for applications for free coaching for Group-I service recruitment. From March 29, 200 applicants will be taught in the BC Study Circle on the Osmania University (OU) campus.

    Candidates with first-class marks in their intermediate and bachelor’s degrees are eligible to apply.

    According to a press release, candidates who qualified for Group-I Main before would be granted weightage, in addition to a weightage of 50% for degree grades and 20% each for intermediate and SSC marks in the selection for the coaching programme.

    The candidates’ annual parental income should be less than Rs.5 lakh. Interested candidates should apply in person at the BC Study Circle on the OU campus, together with attested copies of their educational, income, and caste credentials.     SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday said the computer based examinations that were deferred yesterday will be conducted once Jammu and Kashmir Service Selection Board will be fully satisfied and that exams will be held soon.

    Talking to reporters, LG Sinha said transparency is a top priority for them and if there is any iota of doubt that will be addressed.

    He said recruitments will be done based on merit and transparency is the top priority for them and there will be no compromise on it.

    LG Sinha said that so for 47 employees have been dismissed from their services as they were having militancy links.

    “The statement I made a day ago about jobs being given to militants was based on facts and action has already been taken against many people in this regard,” he said.

    The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has been facing intense criticism and protests from the aspirants who were demanding the scrapping or ban of the exam conducting agency Aptech Pvt. Ltd. hired by the board. As a result, the JKSSB board has postponed the Computer Based Examinations for various posts, scheduled from 16th March 2023 to 5th April 2023, until further notice.

    The decision to postpone the exams came after widespread protests and criticism from the aspirants who had been demanding the scrapping of the exam conducting agency Aptech Pvt. Ltd. The aspirants had been alleging irregularities in the recruitment process and had been demanding that the exams be conducted by a more credible agency. They had also raised concerns about the technical glitches that had marred the online exam conducted by Aptech Pvt. Ltd. in the past.

  • 2.13 lakh students from soft, hard zone areas register for class 10th to 12th Board exams this year

    Srinagar, Mar 13: As many as 2.13 lakh students including 1.97 lakh students from soft and 15214 students from hard zone areas of Kashmir have registered for the annual regular (2023) JK Board of School Education (BOSE) examinations.

    As per the date sheet already notified by JK Board, the annual (Regular 2023) examination of class 10th to 12th students enrolled in schools falling in soft zone areas of Jammu and Kashmir commenced from March 9 and March 8 while the class examination commenced from March 6 of 2023.

    Notably, this is be the first Board examination conducted in March month after implementation of National Education Policy (NEP) -2020 by the Jammu and Kashmir government.

    As per the official figures, available with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), around 68695 students including 63000 students of soft zone areas and 5695 students registered for class 10th examination while 71375 students including 67458 students from soft zones and 3917 students of hard zones areas are registered for class 11th exams.

    Also, 73034 students including 67432 from soft zones and 5602 students from hard zones of Kashmir have registered for class 12th examination.

    While the annual board examination of all the three classes has already commenced in soft zone areas of Kashmir, the examination of students in hard zone areas is scheduled to commence from April, 2023.

    As per the BOSE figures, around 444 schools- 309 in Jammu and 135 in Kashmir division fall in hard zones while seven zones of Kargil district and whole Ladakh area fall in hard zones.

    In Kashmir division, 43 schools of Anantnag, Bandipora 19, Kupwara 32, Kulgam 28 and 13 schools in Budgam fall in hard zones.

    In Jammu division 50 schools of Kishtwar, Reasi 47, Rajouri 7, Poonch 20, Doda 56, Ramban 64 and 65 schools of Udhampur fall in hard zones.

    As per the official figures, JK Board has set up around 2069 exam centres including 1886 centres in soft zone areas and 183 centres in hard zone areas of Kashmir.

    As many as 710 exam centres-632 in soft zones and 78 in hard zones are set up for class 10th exams while 662 exam centres- 622 in soft zone areas and 40 in hard zone areas are set up for class 11th exams.

    Also, 697 exam centres—632 in soft zone areas and 65 in hard zone areas are set up for class 12th examination—(KNO)

    Hyderabad: Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) exams for the posts of Town Planning Building Overseer and Veterinary Assistant Surgeon were postponed on Sunday due to suspected hacking of question paper online.

    The Begum Bazar police took a few suspects into custody for the leaking of Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) exam question papers.

    The written exam for the Town Planning Building Overseer post was to be conducted on Sunday.

    The Veterinary Assistant Surgeon exams were scheduled to be conducted online on March 15 and 16. TSPSC said that the exam dates will be released soon.

    A police case has been registered in the Begum Bazar police station to investigate the issue. The police have reportedly found that there was no hacking done but the paper was leaked by one of the TSPSC employees.

    Reacting to the incident, Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) state president Bhanu Prakash called for the resignation of the TSPSC chairman Janardhan Reddy.
