    Now, book Etihad Airways flight tickets using Botim app

    Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi-based Etihad Airways has entered into a partnership with Astra Tech, Dubai-based consumer technology, to allow customers to book flights using artificial intelligence through chat app Botim, the Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.

    The partnership between the two companies was signed at an Arabian Travel Market (ATM) by Antonwaldo Neves, CEO of Etihad Airways, and Abdullah Abu Sheikh, founder of Astra Tech on Wednesday.

    Through the Botim GPT module developed by Astra Tech, flights and other travel-related services are integrated into the Botim application, providing a convenient and innovative way for customers to book Etihad Airways flights.

    Under the deal between Etihad Airways and Astra Tech, customers of the airline will be able to book flights just by typing in basic details of the service they need, using technology and then completing the booking itself.

    About Botim

    Botim, known for VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) across the MENA region, has now transformed from a communication application into the world’s first ultra application.

    Botim offers many services, including fintech, government services, pharmacies, retail and more, for its users to make their lives more digital, seamless and convenient.
    Founded in 2017, Botim operates in 155 countries and offers free video and voice calls, money transfers within the UAE powered by PayBy, phone top-ups and bill payments locally and internationally, group chats and group calls, games, health features and a Quran book reading.

    Astra Tech acquired Botim in 2022.

    Abu Dhabi: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) carriers Etihad Airways and Emirates Airline have come together to bring a first-of-a-kind interline agreement.

    On Thursday, UAE Airlines signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that expands their interline agreement, which took place at the Arabian Travel Market, with representatives from both airlines present.

    Under the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), passengers traveling to the country will have the option of arriving in one Emirate and departing from the other. There will be no additional airfare for the service.

    For example, someone flying from London might choose to land in Dubai on Emirates and then fly from Abu Dhabi on Etihad on the way back.

    In its announcement Emirates, which is based in Dubai, said, “This first of its kind agreement between the two UAE carriers aims to capitalise on opportunities to boost tourism to the UAE from key source markets by enabling visitors to experience more than one destination in a single itinerary.” 

    Etihad Airways CEO Antonoaldo Neves added, “Our interline agreement will make it more convenient for our guests to experience the best of Abu Dhabi and Dubai on one ticket while promising to deliver an exceptional flying experience whether they fly with Etihad Airways or Emirates. It’s a win-win proposition for travelers to the UAE.”

    Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi-based Etihad Airways has identified six more Indian cities and will launch flight services soon, the airline’s CEO said.

    CEO Antonualdo Neves revealed to Reuters in an interview in New Delhi on Thursday, that the airline wants to triple its passenger count to 30 million and nearly double the fleet to 150 aircraft by the end of the decade.

    “Etihad has India as its top priority,” Neves said, adding that the country is among its top three largest markets.

    Etihad Airways currently operates flights from Abu Dhabi to and from Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata and Mumbai.

    The airline is looking to shift its focus to medium and long-haul destinations and move away from operating ultra-long-haul flights.

    Despite this, Etihad still has around 10,000 seats per week of unused flight rights between India and Abu Dhabi.

    Abu Dhabi: The national airline of the UAE, Etihad Airways, is all set to welcome travellers with a specifically crafted inflight menu during the holy month of Ramzan. Once more working with Emirati Chef Khaled Alsaadi, Etihad’s culinary design team is reimagining popular Ramadan dishes by combining traditional Emirati recipes with modern cooking methods and regional components.

    Turky Alhammadi, Head of Product and Hospitality, at Etihad Airways said, “Our continued collaboration with Chef Khaled brings together his culinary skills with a distinctively modern take on local dishes, working hand in hand with our culinary design team. We hope that our guests will enjoy this specially curated menu during their flight in the holy month. We look forward to hosting our guests and encourage everyone travelling with Etihad to savour these Ramadan specials.”

    Iftar meals will be served onboard in addition to Etihad’s regular hot meal service, and guests will be treated to dishes like Saffron curry crusted seabream, Lamb shank with black lime jus, Lentil soup, Chaami and beetroot salad, Machboos chicken ciabatta sandwich, Aseeda cheesecake, Saffron pot de creme with Batheeta crumble, and more.

    Chef Khaled Alsaadi said, “It was an absolute pleasure to work again with Etihad’s culinary design team, the unique collaboration allowed me to present modern Emirati dishes to international guests travelling on board the UAE’s national carrier. Travellers during Ramadan, long for a nourishing iftar meal, and I wanted to bring the essence of Emirati cuisine to Etihad’s travellers to taste local flavours and leave a lasting impression on their taste buds.”

    The Etihad Ramzan experience begins in the airport bars in Abu Dhabi, which will also offer special Ramadan foods and drinks as well as prayer spaces.

    Visitors will be able to replicate Etihad’s distinctive inflight meals at home by accessing a selection of bespoke recipes online or by scanning QR codes located at the foot of the onboard menu. On particular flights that align with iftar times, Etihad’s Ramadan menu will be accessible to guests in every cabin. Flights to and from the Gulf nations and flights for Umrah parties visiting Jeddah during Ramadan are included in this.

    Kolkata: Etihad Airways will resume flight services between Kolkata and Abu Dhabi on Sunday, the airlines said.

    The flights, to be available every day, will be operated with an Airbus A320 aircraft, offering eight seats in business class and 150 in economy class, it said.

    With the recommencement of services to Kolkata, Etihad will now fly to 14 destinations across the region — India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Maldives, it added.

    The aircraft will depart Abu Dhabi at 9.10 pm local time, and land in Kolkata at 3.30 am. It will take off from Kolkata at 4.35 am, and reach the UAE capital at 8.15 am local time.

    “Our return to Kolkata will come at the same time as we go double daily to New York, providing better access between India and the United States via Abu Dhabi, where our guests can take advantage of our US preclearance facility for a seamless arrival into the States,” said Martin Drew, the senior vice-president of global sales and cargo at Etihad.

    Last week, low-cost carrier Air Arabia launched its services between Kolkata and Abu Dhabi, flying three days a week. It is also operating an Airbus A320.

    Etihad had stopped its services between Kolkata and Abu Dhabi following the COVID-19 outbreak.

    Kolkata has direct flights to two other west Asian destinations, Dubai and Doha.

    Abu Dhabi-based carrier Etihad Airways on Monday aunched a flash sale on its website.

    Etihad is offering a 20 per cent discount on the price of flights until Tuesday, March 14 midnight.

    Passengers can get a 20 per cent discount on flights using promo code EYFLASH20.

    The discount airfare promotion comes after the UAE carrier successfully switched to the Amadeus Altéa Passenger Service System (PSS).

    The offer is valid on return flights on flights operated by Etihad Airways booked on the airline’s website. It will apply to bookings made between 12 am on March 13 until 11.59 pm March 14 for travel from June 16, 2023 onwards.

    Antonoaldo Neves, Etihad’s CEO, said: “Amadeus provides us with the tools we need to continue enhancing our guest experience and improving our operations into the future. It will mean further upgrading the digital experience we offer our customers when booking online through etihad.com or using our mobile app and self-service tools, giving them even greater control and flexibility in managing their journey.

    “It also gives our valued partners in the travel industry a much richer, relevant and dynamic shopping experience, and supports our continued journey with them.”

    New Delhi: This summer, Etihad Airways will launch a new direct route between Abu Dhabi and Lisbon, beginning on July 2, 2023, to broaden its European network.

    The carrier will offer three weekly flights on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Sundays, connecting Abu Dhabi with the capital of Portugal just in time for the summer vacations.

    “We’re excited to introduce flights to Portugal for the first time and provide our guests with convenient travel options to one of the most popular summer destinations for 2023,” said Antonoaldo Neves, Chief Executive Officer of Etihad Airways.

    “As one of the oldest cities in Western Europe, the coastal city of Lisbon is a great entry-point to exploring the rest of the country, with perfect beaches, historic castles, fantastic nightlife and a warm and welcoming people.

    “Our new direct connection will enhance the trade and tourism ties between the UAE and Portugal, and we are grateful for the support of the Portuguese authorities in establishing our new air link.”

    Summer flights to Malaga and Mykonos

    As well as introducing flights to Lisbon, Etihad Airways will be returning to Malaga on the Spanish Costa del Sol and the popular Greek island of Mykonos this summer.

    Etihad Airways will be flying to Malaga twice-per-week, on Wednesdays and Sundays, from June 18, 2023. Lying on a wide bay with stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea and one of the most visited coastal cities in Spain, Malaga is famous for its miles-long sandy beaches, culture and food.

    Travellers can also look forward to the airline launching flights to Mykonos, lying in the deep blue waters of the Aegean sea, with twice-per-week services on Mondays and Fridays from June 16, 2023. With world-class beaches, restaurants and entertainment, as well as plenty of opportunities to discover ancient Greek history, the island is one of the hottest summer spots in Europe.

    With the addition of new routes to Lisbon, Malaga and Mykonos, Etihad Airways will be offering travellers nearly 160 weekly flights to 21 destinations in Europe this summer, with 20 per cent more seats available than in 2022.

    Tickets to all three new destinations are now available to book on etihad.com.
