A case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act was registered against him at Doda Police Station, and an enquiry was initiated against him by the department for service misconduct. The investigation conducted by the department proved beyond doubt that he was involved in the illegal trade of charas, and his services have been disengaged.

The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Abdul Qayoom has appealed to the general public for cooperation in eradicating the menace of drugs from society. He also warned that any employee of the civil or Police Department found engaged in narcotics trade will not be spared.
