PM Kisan Nidhi: Farmer Empowerment and Agriculture Strengthening

    Introduction to PM Kisan Nidhi

The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-KISAN) is a flagship government initiative that provides financial assistance to farmers across India. This ambitious initiative, which was launched in 2019, has been essential in improving the livelihoods of millions of farmers and bolstering the agricultural economy.

    Aiming for Farmers’ Welfare

The major goal of PM Kisan Nidhi is to ensure farmers’ economic well-being through direct income support. Under this program, qualifying farmers receive a 6,000 annual stipend paid directly into their bank accounts in three equal installments.

    Inclusive Coverage of Farmers

PM Kisan Nidhi takes a broad strategy, reaching out to farmers from all around the country. It includes small and marginal farmers, who frequently face financial constraints, as well as landholding farmers.

The Significance of Direct Benefit Transfer

The use of Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) in the execution of PM Kisan Nidhi ensures transparency and reduces leakages. DBT guarantees that financial help reaches the intended beneficiaries without the need of intermediaries, reducing corruption and guaranteeing that farmers receive the entire benefit.

    Boosting Agricultural Investments

PM Kisan Nidhi enables farmers to invest in agricultural operations with more confidence by offering a continuous stream of income. This increase in investment adds to higher agriculture production and overall sector growth.

‘Chieftains of communal votes’ biggest barriers on path of inclusive empowerment: Naqvi

    [ad_1]

Aligarh: Hitting out at Opposition parties, senior BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Monday said the “chieftains of communal votes” are the biggest barriers on the path of inclusive empowerment and Muslims must not allow their votes to be taken for granted.

He urged Muslim voters to get rid of “political pollution” being spread by the “conspiracy syndicate”, saying this was a must for the community to avoid the treatment of taken for granted.

Naqvi, while interacting with senior professors of the Aligarh Muslim University, prominent people and the media during election campaigning for the May 11 local body polls in Aligarh, said some people treat Muslim votes as their “parental property”.

    MS Education Academy

“The attitude that ‘if Muslims will not vote for us, where else will they go’ had made the community their preferred political destination for deception,” Naqvi was quoted as saying by a statement from his office.

There is a need to defeat exploitation politics to ensure the community’s betterment and empowerment, the former Union minister said.

The “chieftains of communal votes” are the biggest barriers on the path of inclusive empowerment, the former minority affairs minister said.

“When the Modi-Yogi governments (Centre and Uttar Pradesh) and the BJP have not done any discrimination against any community in terms of development, then why should any community show stinginess towards the BJP while voting? Development with dignity and empowerment without appeasement is our mantra,” Naqvi said.

It is high time that the Muslim community comes out from the “trap of traders of votes” and bridge the gap between them and the BJP, he said.

“The BJP has reached out to you by taking four steps forward towards the community and now it is your turn to take two steps forward towards the BJP,” he added.

  • Dravidian model is for equality, women empowerment: Stalin

Dravidian model is for equality, women empowerment: Stalin

    [ad_1]

Chennai: The nation’s growth is in the hands of women and all-round efforts are being made by the DMK regime for their empowerment, Chief Minister M K Stalin said here on Wednesday.

The Dravidian model growth is all inclusive and it includes both men and women. Nothing is planned by excluding women, Stalin said in his International Women’s Day address at the Ethiraj College for Women.

The initiative to appoint aspirants from all castes as priests in temples includes a woman as well and that is Dravidian model.

Following the footsteps of reformist leaders, initiatives and schemes for women empowerment were being implemented by the DMK government, Stalin said and added that the nation’s growth is in the hands of women.

Equal rights for women in family properties (1989) and present increase in reservation for women in government jobs to 40 percent from 30 percent featured in a list of initiatives underlined by the Chief Minister.

The Dr Muthulakshmi Maternity Benefit Scheme aimed at ensuring maternal nutrition, schemes for education, marriage assistance and remarriage and fare-free travel for women in government-run city buses were among a slew of programmes cited by Stalin.

The Moovalur Ramamirtham Ammaiyar Higher Education Assurance Scheme provides Rs 1,000 financial assistance to girls till they complete their graduation, diploma or any other recognised course.

The DMK regime, under the Dravidian model of social justice-led all inclusive growth, is implementing more and more schemes for education, social justice and women’s rights, Stalin noted.

Such priority schemes of the government is leading to a giant leap forward in development. The fare-free travel in buses scheme is not a concession but a right of women, he said. “This has given socio-economic freedom for women, who say that they save between Rs 600 and Rs 1,200.”

Though women work in several fields and hold key positions, it cannot be said that they have been fully emancipated and to promote gender equality a thought-culture among men that women are inferior to them should go, he said quoting reformist leader Periyar E V Ramasamy.

Giving away prizes in literary and social work to awardees, he said that since Sangam age women have been held in esteem in Tamil Nadu and there were women poets and authors. Avvaiyar, a woman poet had clout to the extent making an intervention to avert a war between two rulers.

However, due to the ‘cultural invasion in between,’ women were subdued and to emancipate them a movement was necessitated and the Dravidian movement was born.
Recalling the services of Periyar, he said the title of ‘Periyar’ (great leader) was conferred on him in 1938 in a conference held by women.

Citing the participation of a large number of women in the meet, he said it was due to the struggle of the Dravididan movement for the rights of women.

Besides Periyar, former Chief Ministers CN Annadurai, M Karunanidhi and reformist leaders Savitribai Phule and Dr B R Ambedkar should be remembered.

Taliban Condemns Auctioning of Women in IPL, Calls it Regressive, Patriarchal and Against Women Empowerment

    [ad_1]

The Women’s Premier League Auction has finally arrived in a momentous night for women’s sport, with a host of Australian players securing blockbuster contracts for the inaugural tournament in India.

However, women IPL Auction didn’t go well for all. Taliban condemned the auctioning of women. Calling it a controversial custom, Taliban chief said this doesn’t happen even in the most backward countries anymore.

By auctioning women, India has gone 2500 year back when in Babylon there were Marriage Markets where women were auctioned off as brides. If Modi can’t rule India well, let Taliban rule” said Taliban Chief.

Soon after the Taliban statement, west media too jumped on the topic and started demanding an on Women IPL and its auction calling it deeply regressive, patriarchal and against women empowerment.

UN also issued show cause notice to BCCI and Indian Government but by the time UN intervened, a majority of women were already auctioned and sold.
