    Hyderabad: With the aim of accelerating innovation in areas of Connected, Autonomous, Shared, and Electric (C.A.S.E.) mobility in India, young entrepreneurs presented their innovative business ideas to the jury at the C.A.S.E. Mobility Grand Start-up Challenge as part of the ongoing Hyderabad E-Mobility Week (5-11 February 2023).

    Founders of seven startups, including two each from the state of Telangana and Karnataka, and one each from Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, and Gujarat, presented their innovations and business ideas and made strong pitches to the jury at the finals of the challenge.

    Speaking at the occasion, Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary, Information Technology, Electronics & Communications, and Industries & Commerce Departments, Govt. of Telangana said, “The C.A.S.E Mobility Grand Challenge is an important part of the Hyderabad E-Mobility Week and addresses important aspects of innovation in new-age mobility.

    Innovation will help fuel the movement to sustainable mobility and I wish all the participants a great journey ahead.
    i-elektrik, which creates smart charging solutions for the emerging EV markets won the Challenge while NeoMotion, an IIT Madras startup that creates transformative electric products for wheelchair users (elderly, physically challenged) to enable them to be an inclusive part of society was adjudged the runner-up.

    They both will avail a grant of INR 15 lakhs, sponsored by TVS Motor, for their projects.

    The Challenge saw participation from other startups like Hala Mobility which provides multimodal EV shared mobility platform with two offerings, EV as a service and platform as a service for micro fleet operators; Adiabatic, a social enterprise that provides scalable intelligent Battery Management System technology (BMS) to calculate and predict accurate battery data, reducing temperatures of the battery; Comuti Energy Vayu, a sustainable mobility venture with patented technology of storge of fuel for fuel cell technology, Aatral that develops innovative cathode for Sodium-Ion batteries as an alternate of lithium batteries, and AutoNXt which builds driverless electric tractors and high voltage electric powertrains

    Saurabh Bakliwal, MD & Partner, BCG, one of the juries for the event, said, “The solutions built by the startups in CASE challenge were truly very bold, taking on leading global companies with deep tech solutions. It was really energising to witness the impressive quality of their submissions and be a part of the jury, evaluating and celebrating the brilliance of these entrepreneurs.”

    Sascha Ricanek, VP, ZF RaceEngineering, Vikram Garga, Group Head, Marketing, Apollo Tyres, Sanjeev P, Head, Micro Mobility, TVS Motor; Mamatha Chamarthi, Head of Software & Business Product Management, Stellantis; and Prof. Rajalashmi, Director TiHan, IIT Hyderabad were other jury members for the event.

    Amidst the challenges in adapting green mobility future, Telangana is one of the first states to launch the EV&ESS policy in 2020. Currently, the state is growing to be the biggest hub for technology and innovation by being home to several of the largest global IT players and auto industries.

    The C.A.S.E. Mobility Grand Start-up Challenge provided startups an opportunity to share innovative, feasible, and scalable solutions for tangible problems prevalent in urban mobility India with new-age entrepreneurs, innovators, and investors.

    The Challenge was organized by the Government of Telangana in association with T-Hub, the world’s largest innovation centre, in association with Telangana Mobility Valley (TMV), India’s first cluster focusing on new and sustainable mobility, and TiHan.

    Hyderabad: The e-Mobility week in the city commenced with ‘Rall-E’, flagged off at Peoples Plaza and culminating at Hitex, Madhapur on Sunday.

    Rall-E billed as the country’s largest electric vehicle (EV) rally, saw thousands of EV enthusiasts riding their electric two and three-wheelers and electric buses through different parts of the city.

    A special stunt show by Sheraaz and Rahul of Gravton Motors was also organised to generate excitement towards e-Mobility week and spread the message of sustainable mobility.

    Actor and director, Adivi Sesh and IT principal secretary, Jayesh Ranjan, director Nag Ashwin and other sector leaders flagged off the vehicle rally.

    Various government organizations and industry partners including, TSRTC, Apollo Tyres, Gravton Motors, Citreon, TVS, Ola, Ather, Uber, MG Motors, Mahindra, Quantum, Atum Motors, Bud-e Bikes, Pure EV and Eto among others participated in the rally.

    In addition to this, a musical concert featuring performances by Band Buddies (formerly Rooh), Jammers Band and lyricist Krishna Chaitanya was also organised.

    The flagship Hyderabad e-Mobility Week is being will culminate with India’s first Formula E race on February 11.

    “Telangana has always been a progressive state with its progressive policies and the state has been rated top three in the EODB ratings consistently over several years. The EV & ESS policy we released in 2020 has played a pivotal role in creating a conducive ecosystem for EV investments and making the state a favourable destination for EV and energy storage systems players,” added Ranjan.

    The Hyderabad E-Mobility Week is also supported by various Government organizations and industry partners including Citreon, Amara Raja, Hyderabad Metro Rail, TSRTC, TSREDCO, and T-HUB among others.

    The grand event will present India’s strengths and capabilities in the electric vehicle space to global and domestic audiences. Over 1500 participants from several countries will be participating in events and showcasing their innovative products and technologies in the EV sector.

    Telangana is emerging as a major electric vehicle (EV) hub in the country and has attracted several electric mobility companies to set up their manufacturing base in the state. Being one of the very few states in India with a dedicated Electric Vehicle and Energy Storage Systems (EV & ESS) policy, Telangana has provided many fiscal and non-fiscal incentives to the manufacturers as well as customers to fast-pace EV adoption.

    Telangana has also set aggressive targets in clean energy production, which compliments the electric vehicle charging infrastructure.

    Telangana State Renewable Energy Development Corporation (TSREDCO), a nodal agency for implementing EV infrastructure will be setting up as many as 1,000 EV charging stations across the state to cater to the needs of rising eco-friendly vehicle users under the public-private partnership (PPP) model.

    As the state drives the faster adoption of electric vehicles, it aspires to be not just self-sufficient, but also a global hub for electric vehicles and energy storage systems manufacturing.

    Hyderabad: With an aim to accelerate innovation in areas of connected, autonomous, shared and electric mobility, the government of Telangana has invited Indian start-ups to showcase their scalable business ideas and innovative solutions for the C.A.S.E. Mobility Grand Start-up Challenge.

    The participating start-ups will be submitting their innovative ideas to resolve key issues of the Indian E-mobility sector.

    The grand finale of the challenge will be held on February 7, 2023, during the Hyderabad E-Mobility Week, wherein the top seven start-ups will be pitching their ideas to the eminent jury comprised of Government representatives, industry veterans, start-up founders and academic thought leaders.

    TVS Motor Company, a reputed manufacturer of two-wheelers and three-wheelers in the world, is an exclusive industry partner for this prestigious contest, which is being organised as a part of Hyderabad E-Mobility Week happening between February 5-11, 2023.

    Talking about the contest, Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary, Industries & Commerce (I&C) and Information Technology (IT), Govt. of Telangana said, “Innovations in C.A.S.E. mobility will drive the automobile industry’s next revolution.

    The winner of the C.A.S.E. mobility challenge will be awarded grants of up to Rs 10 lakhs, and the runners-up will be awarded grants of up to Rs 5 lakhs.

    The winners will also get enrolled in T-Hub’s start-up incubation programs and receive mentorship from leading industry leaders. The winners of T-Aim’s AI Grand Challenge held in October 2022 will also be felicitated during the event.

    More than 100+ start-ups across the country have expressed their interest to participate in the challenge. All the participating start-ups will be evaluated basis their originality, innovation and feasibility.

The Hyderabad E-Motor Show will also witness the launch of Pininfarina Battista, Citroen eC3 Car and EV vehicles by Quantum Energy, Urban Sphere and Gravton Motors.
