SRINAGAR: A 60-year-old man was found dead under mysterious circumstances at his home here on Tuesday, officials said.
Quoting officials news agency GNS reported that one Mushtaq Ahmad son of Hassan Mohammad, a resident of Mendhar, was found lying unconscious and later on declared dead.
The body, they said, was shifted to SDH Mendhar for post-mortem.
Confirming the death of the person, SHO Gursai Farooq Ahmad said that investigations under section 174 CRPC have been initiated.
A video of a guy showing an old woman how to use a smart television has gone viral online.
The video, which was first published on TikTok and was then reposted on Twitter on Thursday, features a man educating an elderly woman about the many streaming apps available on a smart TV.
In the video, a man shows a woman how to use a smart television to search for various OTT (Over The Top) services. She learns from him that each of the squares on the television’s screen has its own unique app. The man says that all of them are apps, from Amazon Prime to Netflix and that they are unrelated to one another.
“We have Prime Video and we also have Netflix,” the man states.
The old woman then scrolls down to the streaming service and learns how to open it after he advises her to locate Netflix on the screen.
Shared just a couple of days ago, the post has already accumulated more than 5.5 million views and over 253.4K likes.
Riyadh: The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque announced that it has launched a prayer area for elderly women located on the ground floor inside the Grand Mosque.
The prayer area is located near Gate 88, and provides all the services needed by the elderly.
The Undersecretary of the General President for Women’s Social, Voluntary and Humanitarian Services, Abeer bint Mohammad Al-Juffair, explained that the opening of a prayer area dedicated to elderly women in the Grand Mosque comes in order to comfort the women worshippers and give them an easy access to services.
Al-Juffair stated that the prayer area, “comes as one of the services that the agency is interested in in order to harness all capabilities to facilitate and provide comfort for the elderly women who heads to the Grand Mosque.”
During the launch, meals, Zamzam water, Qurans, and winter clothing were provided to those visiting the prayer area.
On Wednesday, the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque affirmed its keenness to provide the best services to achieve the maximum levels of comfort for the destination.
It also confirmed that the agency investing in artificial intelligence techniques, digitizing programs, and harnessing electronic applications in various fields to serve the destinations, and addressing them in international languages to facilitate their rituals and enrich their experience.

Hyderabad: Dobara, a city-based non-profit organisation for the elderly has organised a special age-friendly visit to the All India Industrial Exhibition-Numaish at Nampally on January 19.
Several elderly people from five NGOs who visited the exhibition were delighted and discussed the spirit of the place.
Founded by Mateen Ansari, the place caters to elders from various old age homes across the city in addition to multiple outdoor activities for the physically disabled from time to time.
One such day outing for them was taken up where the Numaish society provided them with as many as fifty wheelchairs, facilitated by young teenagers one for each elderly person, who volunteered their visit.
Speaking to Siasat Daily, a volunteer from Fatima old age home, who came along with twenty-two elders stated that people getting into these homes are mostly missing cases and those coming from other NGOs.
Talking about counselling young minds to take care of their parents, the volunteer added that they mostly do not adopt such cases in order to let the old parents stay with their kids.
Another helper said that Dobara is a platform which creates a blend between two generations.
“The very fact that students from education institutes are invited to volunteer the elders, is to teach them to handle elderly people with tenderness,” he added.
“Dobara is nothing but living life altogether once again,” he remarked.
An elderly person, Zulaiqa Banu who has been living in Dobara for the past two years, said that being a part of the organisation has given her multiple opportunities to visit fun events despite her disability.
