Drinking water in Israel becomes turbid after Turkey-Syria quakes

Jerusalem: Drinking water in northeastern Israel has become turbid after deadly earthquakes hit parts of Syria and Turkey, local authorities said.
The Israeli Ministry of Health issued a statement instructing the residents of the city of Beit She’an and dozens of other localities in the area to boil drinking and cooking water, Xinhua news agency reported.
Israel’s Mekorot national water company explained that earthquake shock waves caused dirt to enter the water at drilling sites in the area.
Powerful earthquakes rocked southern Turkey and its neighbour Syria early Monday, killing at least 2,700 people.
The earthquakes were also strongly felt in Israel and Lebanon.

Hyderabad to face 30-hour drinking water supply disruption

Hyderabad: Many places in Hyderabad will face 30-hour drinking water supply disruption as Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewage Board (HMWSSB) is undertaking repair works.
As per the press release, the disruption will be witnessed on February 4 and 5 amid repair work of a 1600 mm dia pipeline in connection with Krishna Drinking Water Supply Project (KDWSP) Phase-2.
As part of the SRDP, the repair works will be carried out without hindering the construction of the flyover at the Bairamalguda junction.
From 6 am on February 4 to 12 noon on Sunday, there will be drinking water supply disruption in areas including Balapur, Mekalamandi, Marredpally, Tarnaka, Lalapet, Buddhanagar, Hasmathpet, Ferozguda and Bholakpur.
Hyderabad to face water supply disruption for second time in 10 days
This is the second time in 10 days. Earlier too, some parts of Hyderabad faced water supply disruption.
Earlier, HMWSSB in a press release, mentioned that on January 27, the drinking water supply will be disrupted in areas including Shastripuram, Bandlaguda, Bhojagutta, Allabanda, Madhuban, Durga Nagar, Budvel, Suleman Nagar, Golden Heights, 9 no, Kismatpur, Gandham Guda and Dharmasai.
The board had cited Mylar Dev Palli Phase-2 of Jalamandali as the reason.

Telangana: 90% of Ameenpur homes to get drinking water by April

Hyderabad: In order to tackle drinking water problems, four massive reservoirs having a combined storage capacity of 90 lakh litres are being constructed under the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) in Ameenpur municipality.
Patancheru MLA Gudem Mahipal Reddy lay the foundation stone at Sri Krishna Brundavan Colony in Sangareddy on Tuesday. According to him, drinking water will be provided to 90% of households in the municipality area by summer.
Moreover, three other reservoirs built at PJR Colony, Lalabavi Colony and the hillock of Beeramguda are also nearly completed, he said adding it will supply 1.25 crore litres of water every day.
