District Development Commissioner Doda issued an order on Tuesday stating that all those licence holders have not yet uploaded their gun licences on the NDAL portal (online), which is why these licences have not been renewed yet.
According to the order—a copy of which lies with The Chenab Times—it states that some gun licence holders have expired but their licences have not been transferred to any of their legal heirs.
“Therefore, the concerned licence holders / legal heirs of licence holders are hereby directed to submit the complete details particulars of licence holder alongwith the photocopy of such licences in the Judicial Section of the Office of District Magistrate, Doda within a period of 15 days, failing which no application for uploading on the online portal and renewal / transfer of such licences shall be considered (as and when the facility will be open) for which the gun licence holder shall be personally responsible,” it added.

In a tragic road accident, four officials from PWD (R&B) lost their lives on Monday after a Bolero vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge, resulting in the deaths of three on the spot and the injury of one who later succumbed to his injuries in Jammu.
A bolero car carrying officers of the R&B Department met with an accident near the Assar area of Doda district, resulting in the deaths of three and injuring one.
Soon after the accident, locals, volunteers of the Al Khair organization, and police officers can be seen during the rescue operation, according to a video The Chenab Times received from the spot.
As per details available with The Chenab Times, a Bolero vehicle bearing registration number JK02-CC-0701 met with an accident near Trungul Bridge Assar. The vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge, resulting in the deaths of three people and injuring one other.
The deceased have been identified as Mohd Rafiq (XEN PwD Doda), a resident of Poonch, Driver Hafiz, and one AEE R&B Kamal Keshor. son of Hem Raj, a resident of Jakhani Udhampur. While Suresh Kumar (SE PwD Doda) got injured and was shifted to CHC Assar for immediate treatment, later he was shifted to GMC Jammu, where he succumbed to his injuries.

District Administration, Doda, today deeply condoled the sad demise of deceased officers Sh. Rafeeq Ahmed Sheikh Ex En, Sh. KK Sharma AEE and Mohd Hafiz Driver, of PWD Doda in a tragic road accident near Assar Doda.
It has been reported that Suresh Kumar, Superintending Engineer PWD was also on the same official vehicle Bolero, who has received some injuries and has been shifted to GMC Jammu for further treatment.
The Bolero vehicle in which they were travelling from Jammu to Doda, in the morning today fell down ina deep gorge near Trungul, Assar, the reasons of which are to be ascertained yet. The dead bodies were handed over to their families after some basic formalities.
DC Doda Vishesh Paul Mahajan along with SSP Doda Abdul Qayoom reached on the spot and are monitoring the rescue operation. A condolence meeting was also held at Conference Hall of DC office, whereat the participants prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls. The Deseased officers and driver were remembered for their tireless and prompt service to the public as a part of District Administration. Besides, Deputy Commissioner, VisheshPaul Mahajan, SSP Doda Abdul Qayoom, ADDC Doda Pran Singh, ADC Doda Dr Ravi Kumar Bharti, and other District officers and officials, expressed heart-felt sympathies with the bereaved family members over the irreparable loss. They also prayed for speedy recovery of Sh Suresh Kumar SE, who is undergoing treatment at GMC Jammu.

Authorities here on Monday suspended class work for students in schools in zone Mandi and Baffliaz due to inclement weather conditions.
“As per the directions of Deputy Commissioner Poonch, there will be no class work in zone Mandi and Baffliaz of the district (holiday for students only) today due to inclement weather conditions,” news agency GNS quoted a senior officer in Poonch.
Reports said that primary and middle schools have been closed for today due to bad weather in Doda district also.
“Due to inclement weather classes upto Middle (8th) level shall remain suspended today in both Government as well as Private Schools in Doda. 9th class onwards shall work as normal,” reads a tweet on the official twitter handle of DIC Doda.
In view of the prevailing weather conditions, all schools upto Middle standard will observe no schooling today on 14-11-2022. Although High schools and Higher Sec. schools will function normally.All to note and act accordingly. By order Chief Education Officer Kishtwar.@diprjk
Union MoS PMO chairs DISHA meeting of Doda district
Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Science & Technology and Earth Sciences; MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh today chaired District Development Coordination & Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting to review progress of various Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) being implemented in Doda district.
The meeting was attended by Secretary Tribal Affairs J&K, OSD to Minister, Deputy Commissioner Doda, Chairperson District Development Council Doda, Chairperson Block Development Council, Chief Planning Officer, SSP Doda, Principal GMC Doda, Additional District Development Commissioner Doda, senior officers from line departments and other concerned.
At the outset, District Development Commissioner Doda, Vishesh Paul Mahajan delivered a presentation on the achievements and progress recorded under different Centrally Sponsored Schemes and presented an overview of various major projects being executed by different departments and agencies in the district.
Deputy Commissioner gave the status of physical and financial progress of scheme-wise being executed under various CSSs.
While stressing for the synergy between public representatives and the administration while taking up the projects for execution, Dr Singh said better coordination between these representatives and the district administration is key to schemes being implemented on ground.
While reviewing cultivation of lavender in the district, Dr Jitendra Singh said that as the farmers are taking up lavender cultivation on commercial scale for being a profitable farming, Doda district would be branded as a role model in the country in lavender farming.
Detailed presentation was given on various CSS schemes being implemented in different sectors in the district wherein financial as well as physical progress of mega projects which include widening of NH-244, GMC Doda, and other major projects, High Altitude Medicinal Plant Bhaderwah under AYUSH, besides achievements in Back to Village programme, R&B, JJM, PMGSY, Power, MGNREGA, PMAY-Urban, SBM-Grameen, Mission Youth’s Mumkin Scheme & Tejeswani, Amrit Sarovar, beneficiary oriented schemes, Ayushman Bharat Abhiyan-SEHAT, RBSK, PMBJAK, other social security scheme (Pension/scholarship), employment generation schemes etc.
The minister took detailed review of all these schemes undertaken by different departments in the district wherein he enquired about the status of each scheme.
On the occasion, public representatives flagged various issues before the minister who issued on spot directions to the concerned for early redressal.
Dr Singh also directed the concerned departments to work with renewed zeal and dedication for effective implementation of all schemes and coverage of 100 percent eligible beneficiaries under all schemes.
He said that it is the endevour of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to trickle down the benefits of all the centrally sponsored schemes to the deserved lot and to the last person in the queue while urging all the concerned to work in close coordination for better results at the grass root level.
He also directed the concerned officers to remain in touch with the public representatives whenever they visit their area and make people aware about the benefits of these schemes. On the occasion, Dr Singh also complimented the Doda Administration for implementing various CSSs successfully in the district and achieving over 90 percent saturation in various schemes.

To address the huge gap in electricity connections and the consumption of electricity, as reported by Superintending Engineer JPDCL, in District Doda especially during the winter season resulting the frequent unscheduled power cuts, the District Magistrate Doda Vishesh Paul Mahajan has issued some regulations on sale and use of heating gadgets in the District.
It is pertinent to mention here that during winter months excessive use of heating gadgets by some people lead to heavy load on the available electricity causing inconvenience to the general public in the form of unscheduled power cuts. Also as per Govt. order No. 72-PDD of 2018 dated: 27-02-2018 there is already a ban on Nichrome Coils being used for manufacture of crude water heaters and crude cooking heaters.
The unregulated use of high power consuming electrical gadgets, that too, by such consumers who do not have electricity connections or have not paid their outstanding electricity dues cause inconvenience to the law abiding genuine consumers and institutions dealing with services of emergent nature like patient care etc.
The DM by virtue of powers vested to him under Section 144 of Cr.PC has ordered that the shops / stores carrying on business of electrical and electronic items shall not sell electrical appliances/ items such as heaters, geysers, ACs, etc. to customers who do not have a valid electricity connection or have not paid the last electricity bill.
Further the shops / stores who sell electrical appliances / items shall maintain a proper record of such sale and the record of electricity bills of such customers which shall be regularly checked by a special teams. The shopkeepers have been further asked not to sell or store heating gadget using the banned Nichrome Coils.
