  • Srinagar Smart City Projects Will Be Completed In Stipulated Time: Div Com Kashmir

    SRINAGAR:  Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Vijay Bidhuri on Saturday said the ongoing development works in the city centre Lal Chowk for smart city projects have taken pace as the work is going on in double shifts, while the next two months are crucial in view of the proposed G20 meeting in Srinagar.

    Talking to reporters after taking review of development works in Lal Chowk, Bidhuri, as per the news agency KNO said in the coming two month people might have to face inconvenience as some roads will be closed to complete the development works.

    He said the development works will be completed in a stipulated time as work is going on in double shifts.

    “We had started works when there was no proposal for G20 meeting in Srinagar, but since it has been proposed to hold the meeting here it benefitted us as we started work in double shifts. The projects will be completed in time now,” he said.

  • Anti encroachment drive: No Landless, poor to be disturbed: Div Com assures Civil Society delegation

    Jammu, Feb13 (GNS): A delegation of the civil society members today called on Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar at his office and discussed the issue of ongoing anti-encroachment drive.

    The delegation comprised Devender Singh Rana, Khalid Hussain, Suhail Qazmi, Sahil Ji Maharaj, Arun Gupta, President Chamber of Commerce, Jammu, Rajeev Gupta, Mahant Mohan Giri, Mahant Rajesh Bittu, Mahant Rajeshwar Giri, Vinay Hindu, Mohammad Aslam Qureshi, Choudhary Iqbal, Haji Ashraf, S. Ravinder Singh, S. Manpreet Singh, Anwar Khan, besides other prominent citizens. 

    Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Avny Lavasa was also present during the interaction. 

    The delegation informed the Div Com about the concern and sense of insecurity prevailing among the poor people with regard to the ongoing anti-encroachment and demolition drive being carried out by the administration. They urged the Divisional Commissioner that poor people may not be targeted during the ongoing anti-encroachment drive.

    Stating that no one was opposed to the action against the land grabbers, they said that there was a need to safeguard the interests of the poor who have constructed small dwelling units.

    Responding to the issues raised by the delegation, the Div Com assured that no landless person/ family would be affected by the government during the ongoing anti encroachment drives carried out to retrieve encroached state land. However, he reiterated that big encroachers would not be spared.

    “Clear instructions have already been issued to the concerned authorities not to target the poor and the landless public,” he assured.

    The delegation members also assured to extend full support and cooperation to the administration in the ongoing drive. The delegation said that the Jammu Civil Society is united and committed to maintain amity, tranquility and order in the city as per its glorious ethos of peace and harmony.

    Srinagar, Feb 10 (GNS): The government on Friday ordered transfer of 15 officers, seven of them IAS, in the interest of administration with immediate effect.

    According to a government order, a copy of which lies with GNS, Dheeraj Gupta, IAS (AGMUT: 1993), Principal Secretary to the Government, Housing and Urban Development Department, holding additional charge of smart Cities and proposed new Jammu/Srinagar Metropolitan Regional Development, has been transferred and posted as Principal Secretary to the Government, Department of Forest, Ecology and Environment.

     “H. Rajesh Prasad, IAS (AGMUT:1995), Principal Secretary to the Government, Power Development Department, shall hold the charge of the post of Principal Secretary to the Government, Housing and Urban Development Department, in addition to his own duties, till further orders,” the order reads.

    Sanjeev Verma, IAS (AGMUT:2001), Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, Department of Forest, Ecology and Environment, has been transferred and posted as Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, General Administration Department.

    Kumar Bidhuri, IAS (AGMUT:2005) Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, Revenue Department, holding additional charge of Principal Resident Commissioner, J&K Government, New Delhi, has been transferred and posted as Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir.

    Sarmad Hafeez, IAS (AGMUT:2009), Secretary to the Government, Tourism Department, holding additional charge of Administrative Secretary, Youth Services and Sports Department, has been transferred and posted as Secretary to the Government, Youth Services and Sports Department, on full time basis.

    According to another Government Order No.199-JK(GAD) of 2023 Renu Munshi, Private Secretary, is transferred from J&K Public Service Commission and posted in the Office of Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, J&K.

    Syed Anjum Afroz, Section Officer under orders of transfer to J&K Grievance Cell is posted in the Office of Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, J&K.

    Ajay Bharti, Senior Stenographer, is transferred from the Information Department and posted in the Information Technology Department.

    Manu Pandey, Junior Stenographer, is transferred from Information Technology Department and posted in the Information Department.

    Sarvesh, Junior Assistant, is transferred from Information Technology Department and posted in the Home Department.

    All the officers/officials shall be deemed to have been relieved.

    The unfurling of tricolor was followed by the National Anthem.

    Meanwhile, the Div Com extended Republic Day greetings to the officers of Divisional Administration and security who were present on the occasion.
