MediaTek unveils ‘Dimensity 7050’ to power 5G smartphones in India

New Delhi: Chip-maker MediaTek on Tuesday launched a new chipset ‘Dimensity 7050’ to power next-gen 5G smartphones in India.
Homegrown smartphone brand Lava becomes India’s first OEM (original equipment manufacturer) to collaborate with MediaTek to power the upcoming ‘Agni 2 5G’ phone featuring Dimensity 7050 chip.
According to the company, the new chipset allows OEMs to create smartphones with greater CPU performance, low power consumption, and an incredibly smooth gaming experience and allow the device makers to create attractive, slim and light 5G smartphones.

“MediaTek Dimensity 7050 will allow OEMs to create exceptional smartphones with greater CPU performance, low-power, and incredibly smooth game experience,” Anku Jain, Managing Director, MediaTek India, said in a statement.
Moreover, the company said that the new chip is also designed to provide gamers the edge with MediaTek HyperEngine gaming enhancements, to capture high-quality pictures with its advanced Imagiq camera technologies, and powerful MiraVision 4K HDR video processing for streamers.
This will provide gamers with smooth gaming experiences with exceptional power efficiency and extended battery life for longer gaming sessions.
The other key features of MediaTek Dimensity 7050 include — support for 200MP photos & 4K HDR video, Wi-Fi 6, Fast & efficient 5G, MediaTek 5G UltraSave, dual 5G SIM, MediaTek MiraVision display & video enhancements, and AI for next-gen cameras.

MediaTek may soon launch updated version of ‘Dimensity 9200’ chip

San Francisco: Chip-maker MediaTek is expected to soon launch an updated version of the ‘Dimensity 9200’ processor which it unveiled last year.
The information came from a reputed Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station who claimed that “Dimensity 9200+” is on the way, reports Gizmochina.
The updated processor is expected to be the most powerful 5G chipset from the company this year.
The new chipset is expected to be designed with the 1+3+4 architecture, and the main frequency of its super-large core might exceed 3.05GHz.
Also, the processor will likely be manufactured by TSMC on its second-generation 4nm process.
The AnTuTu score of Dimensity 9200 exceeded 1.2 million points, so the Dimensity 9200+ might go above 1.3 million points.
“The commercial release of the Dimensity 9200+ chip is anticipated to take place in the latter half of this year,” the report said.
The current Dimensity 9200 features MediaTek’s HyperEngine 6.0 Gaming Technology, and also incorporates a built-in 5G modem with AI for faster network searching, 5G connection recovery from dead zones, and other intelligent connectivity features.

MediaTek launches Dimensity 7200 chip to amplify gaming experience

Taipei; Chip maker MediaTek on Thursday launched the Dimensity 7200 chipset to amplify gaming and photography smartphone experiences.
The Dimensity 7200 delivers the same TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company) 4nm second-generation process found in the Dimensity 9200, and is ideal for ultra-slim designs in a variety of form factors, said the company.
“The MediaTek Dimensity 7000 series will be vital for mobile gamers and photography enthusiasts who are looking for an affordable way to squeeze the most battery life out of their phones without skimping on performance,” CH Chen, Deputy General Manager of MediaTek’s Wireless Communications Business Unit, said in a statement.
For gamers, the MediaTek HyperEngine 5.0 technology provides AI-based Variable Rate Shading (VRS) for power savings, CPU and GPU smart resource optimization for longer battery life, and other enhancements for smooth gameplay.
Moreover, utilising MediaTek’s Imagiq 765 and a 14-bit HDR-ISP, the Dimensity 7200 supports 200MP main cameras for epic photography, according to the company.
To further optimise power and performance, MediaTek’s built-in AI Processing Unit (APU) maximises the efficiency of AI tasks and AI fusion processing.
The chipset also supports 4K HDR video capture and allows users to capture content from two cameras at Full HD resolution while keeping everything in focus using all-pixel autofocus technology.
Additional features include — up to Full HD+ and a refresh rate of 144Hz for brilliant displays, Bluetooth LE Audio technology and Dual-Link True Wireless Stereo Audio for wireless earbud support, AI SDR-to-HDR video playback for enhanced multimedia experiences, and more.
