Telangana: Motorist dies after being hit by SUV

Hyderabad: A motorist died after allegedly being hit by an SUV, a government vehicle, on National Highway at Medchal here on Tuesday, police said.
The son of the 60-year-old deceased alleged in a complaint that the driver of the SUV drove in a rash and negligent manner and hit his father’s vehicle from behind, leading to the latter’s death on the spot, they said.
The complainant said that when he reached the spot upon receiving information, he found the SUV with government sticker.
He requested that necessary action be taken against the driver of the SUV, police said.

Man who ‘deliberately’ came before train in Anantnag dies

Srinagar, Feb 14 (GNS): A man who was injured yesterday after hit by train while making a “suicide attempt” in Sadura area in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district succumbed to the injuries at a hospital here, officials said on Tuesday.
They said that the man ‘jumped in front’ of train, on the way from Banihal to Baramulla, near Sadura, as a result of which he lost both limbs on Monday. He was later shifted to nearby hospital from where the doctors there referred him to SKIMS Soura, they said. However, he succumbed to the injuries at SKIMS Soura, they added.
A police official confirming the death of the person told GNS that police have taken cognizance of the incident and further proceedings are underway. (GNS)

Man Jumps In Front Of Moving Train, Dies

SRINAGAR: An elderly man who lost both legs yesterday after allegedly attempting suicide by jumping in front of a moving train in South Kashmir’s Anantnag, succumbed to his injuries at SKIMS Soura on Tuesday morning.
Quoting an official the news agency KNO reported that the man from Mattan allegedly tried to commit suicide when he jumped in front of a moving train at Sadora area and lost both legs.
He said he was shifted to GMC Anantnag in a critical condition where from he was referred to SKIMS Soura for specialised treatment, however, today morning he succumbed.
Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Railway Police have issued an advisory, asking people not to use the railway tracks for walking and also warned of action against trespassers.
“We appeal to the general public against walking, sitting on railway tracks and grazing livestock. If any person is found involved in such activities, strict legal action will be taken against him. He shall be personally responsible,” reads the advisory.

Maha: Cattle smuggling accused dies after falling off 3rd floor of building

Nagpur: An accused in a cattle smuggling case died after falling from the third floor of a building while allegedly trying to evade arrest in Nagpur in Maharashtra, following which his kin and aides protested on Monday, a police official said.
The man was named in a cattle smuggling case registered in Deolapar police station in August last year and was on the run since then, he said.
A team from Deoalapr and Kapil Nagar police stations arrived at his home on Saturday afternoon, and the accused tried to flee by sliding down the sewage pipe from the third floor of the building, the official said.
“He lost his balance and fell to the ground, and died of injuries in a nearby hospital on Sunday. An accidental death case has been registered at Kapil Nagar police station and further probe into the incident is underway,” he said.

Ex-DRDO employee jumps in front of Delhi metro train, dies

New Delhi: A 34-year-old former DRDO employee, who was said to be mentally ill, allegedly died by suicide by jumping in front of a moving Delhi Metro train at Mayur Vihar-1 station on Sunday.
The deceased was M.Tech from IIT Kanpur and had worked for the DRDO for four years.
A senior police official said that they got a PCR call from station controller Mayur Vihar-1 metro station who stated that a person jumped in front of the train at platform number 1.
“A police team was sent to the spot where it met the station controller who said that the person who jumped in front of the metro train had already been shifted to Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital. The man was declared brought dead by the doctors,” the official said.
The deceased was identified as Ajay Laxman Pakhale.
“After DRDO, he joined the job of a senior manager in GAIL but resigned in November 2022. It is further revealed that the deceased was mentally ill and was under treatment at Apollo Hospital. He was unmarried and no suicide note was found,” said the official.
According to the police, the CCTV footage was analyzed and it was found that the deceased jumped before the metro train at about 1:51 p.m. The body was sent to a nearby government for postmortem.

Man Dies In Road Accident

SRINAGAR: A 35-year old man died in an road accident in Hajin town of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Friday late evening.
Quoting an official the news agency KNO reported that the man identified as Nisar Ahmed Dar son of Gh Ahmed Dar (35) of Shahgund suffered critical injuries after a car he was traveling in met with an accident at Bonikhan area.
He said soon after the accident, Dar was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
“After conducting medico-legal formalities the body will be handed over to his family members,” he said.

Telangana: Sarpanch dies by suicide in Sangareddy district

Hyderabad: In yet another incident of sarpanch suicide, the chief of Pedda Mubarakpur village in Sirgapur Mandal was found hanging on Thursday morning.
The body of the deceased Digambar, 46, was shifted to the Area Hospital Narayankhed for postmortem after the incident.
According to relatives, Digambar was suffering from some health issues.
They further said that he had submitted his resignation to the district Collector, citing that he was not able to discharge his duties as a sarpanch due to health issues.
However, the resignation was not accepted officially, informed his relative.
The Sirgapur Police registered a case and initiated a probe into the matter.

Turkish goalkeeper Ahmet Eyup Turkaslan dies in earthquake

Ankara: Turkish goalkeeper Ahmet Eyup Turkaslan, has died after the earthquake that struck Turkey with a magnitude of 7.7 on the Richter scale on Monday.
Yeni Malatyaspor, the Turkish club, announced on its Twitter account on Tuesday, “Our goalkeeper, Ahmet Eyup Turkaslan, lost his life after he was trapped under the rubble following the earthquake.”
“We will not forget you, beautiful person,” club wrote.

As per Turkish reports, the body of Ahmed Eyup Turkaslan, was found under the rubble of the Turkey earthquake, hours after he went missing after his house collapsed, but the rescue forces were able to find the guard’s wife, alive.
Ahmet Eyup Turkaslan was born on September 11, 1994, in Yavuzili, located in Gaziantep, Turkey, and there he started football in the city club youth academy.
He later moved to several clubs, where in 2021 he signed with Yeni Malatyaspor, with whom he played six official matches.
