Two militants, Armyman Killed in Awantipora Gunfight
Both The Militants Identified, One Among Them Responsible For Killing Of Sanjay Sharma: ADGP Kashmir
Srinagar, February 28: Two local militants as well an army trooper were killed in a nocturnal gunfight in Padgampora area of Awantipora in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on tuesday.
Addition Director General of Police Vijay Kumar told GNS that two militants, armyman were killed and also one army trooper sustained injuries in the gunfight.
The officer further said that the operation was prolonged with utmost care due to the close proximity of Mosque near the encounter site. Aqib Mushtaq was responsible for killing Sanjay Kumar Nath, the officer said.
Meanwhile, both the slain militants have been identified. Aqib Mushtaq Bhat of Pulwama (A Category) and Ajaz Ahmad Bhat( C-Category) Son of Ghulam Mohammad Bhat resident of Syedabad, Pastana Tral, the officer added.(GNS)

Korean Government Offers Scholarship, Details Here

South Korean Government is inviting a fully funded scholarship for Masters, and PhD programmes called Global Korea Scholarship (GSK) for the year 2023.
A total of 1300 international students below the age of 40 years with a relevant degree from any recognized institution are eligible to apply. Applicants must have obtained their degrees by February 28, 2023 to apply for the scholarship.
The documents required for the scholarship include Recommendation letters, Attested transcripts, a Statement of Purpose, a Certificate of Language proficiency, and a Medical assessment form.
Selected candidates will be provided with round air tickets, a settlement allowance of 200,000 KRW (12,700 INR), and a monthly allowance of 900,000 KRW-1,500,000 KRW (57,000-95,000 INR). Selected candidates will also receive a research allowance and medical insurance.
Eligible candidates can apply in two ways- either through the Korean Embassy of your country or directly to the domestic University of Korea.

Bilkent University, Turkey invites admission on scholarship for various undergraduate, master and doctoral courses. Students can apply before July 12, 2023, for admission. There is no separate application for scholarship.
The University offers scholarships in the fields of Art, design, and architecture, Business administration, Economics, administrative and social sciences, Engineering, Humanities and letters, Science, Music and performing arts, and Applied technology and management.
The scholarship covers full tuition fee, monthly stipend, private health insurance, meal card and travel support. Citizens of all the nationalities are eligible. SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir government terminated three employees on Sunday under Article 311 of the Indian Constitution for their involvement in anti-national actions. Article 311 of the Indian Constitution provides for the removal of a person employed in civil capacities by the Union or a State.
The government, in a statement, said that as a result of their involvement in actions that were detrimental to the interests of the State, such as involvement in terrorism-related activities and drug trafficking, these employees’ activities had come to the attention of law enforcement and intelligence authorities.
Manzoor Ahmad Itoo, Junior Engineer (Public Works Department) in PMGSY, Bandipore, Syed Saleem Andrabi, Orderly in Social Welfare Department, Tehsil Handwara, District Kupwara, and Mohd. Aurif Sheikh, Teacher in Government Middle School, Pagihalla, Mahore, Reasi are the employees who have been dismissed.
Manzoor Ahmad Itoo was a key player in enlisting the public’s support for the terrorists and inspiring young people to do the same, endangering the security of the Indian State. Drug trafficking has been linked to Syed Saleem Andrabi. Moreover, Mohd. Aurif Sheikh was discovered to have planted IEDs under the direction of terrorists operating out of Pakistan, resulting in the loss of lives and destruction of public property.
The government has adopted a zero-tolerance policy for anti-national elements who have abused their position in government. 44 government officials have already been fired using the provisions of Article 311 of the Indian Constitution prior to these three dismissals.

How Property Tax is Calculated in J&K?
Property Tax is proposed to be levied at 5% of Taxable Annual Value (TAV) of the Property in case of a Residential Property and at 6% of Taxable Annual Value (TAV), in case of Non Residential Property.
Earlier, on Feb 23 : In a meeting chaired by the Chief Secretary to deliberate upon misinformation created regarding property tax in Jammu and Kashmir, it was clarified that all the poor, marginalized having small houses having built-up area up to 1000 square feet have been exempted by the government from paying any property tax to be levied from April onwards this year.
It was informed that levy of property tax is essential part of urban sector reforms. Jammu and Kashmir is one of the last States/UTs to levy property tax and non-imposition of the tax was depriving local bodies to become self sustaining. Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) are required to render multiple civic services in their jurisdiction and need resources. The levy of this tax will improve the financial health of these institutions and improve services, besides creating employment.
While explaining the methodology of levying this tax in the UT, the Principal Secretary, H&UDD, Rajesh Prasad stated that there is no tax liability for those having built-up area of their houses less than 1000 sft besides the proportion of taxes is considerably lesser here than that levied in other parts of the country.
Similarly, all places of worship, including Temples, Masjids, Gurudwaras, Churches, Ziarats, Cremation grounds, Burial grounds etc are exempt from payment of property tax.
