  • Man who ‘deliberately’ came before train in Anantnag dies

    Srinagar, Feb 14 (GNS): A man who was injured yesterday after hit by train while making a “suicide attempt” in Sadura area in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district succumbed to the injuries at a hospital here, officials said on Tuesday.

    They said that the man ‘jumped in front’ of train, on the way from Banihal to Baramulla, near Sadura, as a result of which he lost both limbs on Monday. He was later shifted to nearby hospital from where the doctors there referred him to SKIMS Soura, they said. However, he succumbed to the injuries at SKIMS Soura, they added.

    A police official confirming the death of the person told GNS that police have taken cognizance of the incident and further proceedings are underway. (GNS)

    Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is presenting the Union Budget for 2023 in the Parliament. This is the last full-year budget before the national elections in 2024, announcing a series of tax reliefs, Nirmala Sitharaman has give a huge relief to and announced six tax slabs and rebate has been extended on income up to Rs 7 lakh.

     

    An employee who was extremely happy with the tax rebate deliberately ruined his year end appraisal to make sure his salary remains within 7 lakhs slabs. Reportedly, the employee’s salary was 6.8 Lakh and any positive appraisal has would have made him fall in a tax slab.

     

    Speaking to The Fauxy, the employee said “I don’t like making fake bills and investing in PPF or taking home loans, hence, I don’t want to be under tax slab and i’ll make sure that in next appraisal also I fall within no tax limit”.
