    MANUU starts admission process with 8 new courses

    Hyderabad: Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) has started the online admission process for regular mode programmes offered at its Main Campus at Hyderabad, Satellite Campuses, Colleges of Teacher Education (CTEs) and Polytechnics across the country for the Academic year 2023-2024.

    MANUU is accredited with “A+” grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

    The only University offering courses at higher education level through Urdu medium has introduced Urdu Culture Studies and Comparative Studies in Ph.D., M.Sc. in (Physics, Chemistry, Botany & Zoology) and M.Voc in (Medical Imaging Technology & Medical Laboratory Technology). It has also launched full-time PG Diploma in Teaching English, part-time Diploma Programmes in Pashto, French, Russian, Islamic Studies and part-time certificate programmes in Telugu, Kashmiri, and Turkish from this academic year.

    According to the notification released by Prof. Ishtiaque Ahmed, Registrar, the last date for submission of online applications for entrance-based courses is May 28 whereas online applications for merit-based courses can be submitted till July 24.

    The admissions are offered through the entrance in Ph.D. prgorammes (Arabic, Urdu, English, Hindi, Persian, Translation Studies; Women’s Studies, Public Administration, Political Science, Social Work, Islamic Studies, History, Economics, Sociology, Deccan Studies, Education, Journalism & Mass Communication; Management, Commerce, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Computer Science, Urdu Culture Studies, Comparative Studies) along with Postgraduate programmes MBA; MCA; M. Tech. (Computer Science); M.Ed. The other entrance-based courses include Undergraduate programmes B.Ed, B.Tech. Computer Science (CS) & B.Tech CS (Lateral Entry) and Professional Diplomas such as Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.); Polytechnic-Diploma in Engineering–Civil, Computer Science, Electronics & Communication, Information Technology, Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics, Automobile and Apparel Technologies and Polytechnic-Diploma Lateral Entry.

    The courses under merit-based Post Graduate Programmes include M.A in Urdu, English, Hindi, Arabic, Translation Studies, Persian; Women Studies, Public Administration, Political Science, Islamic Studies, History, Economics, Sociology, Legal Studies; MSW (Social Work), MA in Journalism and Mass Communication; M.Com, M.Sc. (Mathematics), M.Sc. (Physics), M.Sc. (Chemistry), M.Sc. (Botany), M.Sc. (Zoology), M.Voc (MLT), M.Voc (MIT) and PG Diploma in Teaching English. Part-time PG Diploma Programmes Functional Urdu, Hindi and Translation, Professional Arabic, Translation, Diploma Programmes in Tahseen-E-Ghazal (Ghazal Appreciation), Arabic, Persian, Pashto, French, Russian, Islamic Studies and Certificate courses in Urdu, Proficiency in Arabic, Persian, Pashto, French, Russian, Telugu, Kashmiri, Turkish are also being offered through merit.

    At Lucknow Campus MA & PhD is available in Urdu, English, Arabic & Persian. At the Srinagar campus, MA & Ph.D. in Urdu, English, Islamic Studies & Economics apart from MA Persian are available. B.Ed. is being offered at CTE Bhopal, Darbhanga, Srinagar, Asansol, Aurangabad, Sambhal, Nuh and Bidar whereas M.Ed. and Ph.D. in Education are available only at CTE Bhopal and Darbhanga.

    Polytechnic Engineering Diploma in Civil, Electronics & Communication, and Computer Science & Information Technology are available at Hyderabad. Polytechnic Engineering Diploma in Civil, Computer Science, Electronics & Communication are available at Darbhanga and Bengaluru whereas, at Polytechnic Kadapa Diploma in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Electronics, Apparel Technologies are being offered. Engineering Diploma in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Electronics, Automobile are available at Cuttack, Odisha.

    Inviting of Online Application Forms for admission to the (12th Based) Para-Medical Diploma & other Diploma (excluding GNM Lateral Entry) Courses-2023 and Conduct of Common Entrance Test, if any, thereof.

    Reference : Notice 001-BOPEE of 2023 dated 30.01.2023

    Online Applications are invited from the eligible/desirous candidates who intend to appear in the Common Entrance Test for admission to (12th based) Para-Medical Diploma & other Diploma (excluding GNM Lateral Entry) Courses for the Academic Session-2023 in the Government / Private Colleges / Institutions of the UT of J&K.

    The selection of the candidates to such courses shall be regulated by the J&K Board of Professional Entrance Examinations Act, 2002 and the Rules and Regulations made thereunder; Jammu & Kashmir Reservation Act, 2004 as amended vide J&K Reorganization Act, 2019, J&K Reservation Rules, 2005 as amended vide S.O. 69 dated 28-02-2020, S.O 127 dated 20-04-2020, S.O. 249 dated 23-07-2021 and S.O. 277 dated 13-08-2021 and subject to further
    amendments, if any, made by the Competent Authority, from time to time read with the guidelines as contained in the Electronic Information Brochure, 2023

    Important Information

    1. Receipt of Online Application Forms w.e.f. 04-05-2023.

    2. Last date for filling the Online Application Forms: 24-05-2023 (Midnight).

    3. Fee of Rs.1000/ (Rupees One Thousand only) to be paid online through National Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Banking.

    4. The e-Information Brochure can be downloaded from the BOPEE website viz: www.jkbopee.gov.in

    5. The syllabus for the Examination/Test is available in the e-Information Brochure.

    6. Date of Common Entrance Test: (to be notified separately).

The Board does not undertake any responsibility for any delay caused in publication of Notices/ Notifications in the Print Media (Newspapers) as delay, if any, in such publication(s) is not within the control of the Board, notwithstanding that the Board notifies the same on its official website and forward the same for publication in the newspapers simultaneously on the date of issue of the said Notifications/Notices etc.

    9. The Common Entrance Test, if any, conducted by the Board

    Online Application forms :

    The procedure for filling up of online Application Form and eligibility etc. of the candidates has been given in detail in the e- Information Brochure.

    Application Form : 

    (i) Domicile of UT of J&K/UT of Ladakh as the case may be (For Candidates of UT of Ladakh, ST certificate issued by the Competent Authority of Ladakh shall be treated as Domicile Certificate),

    (ii) Qualifying marks (12th Class) certificate; ( where result is declared),

    (iii) Date of Birth Certificate (only Matriculation Certificate issued by the Board);

    (iv) Valid Reserved Category Certificate, if any.

    (v) Any other documents, as required However, it is for the information of all the concerned that afore titled documents as required for submission of online
    application form shall be considered provisional and subject to change(s), if any, as may be notified by the Competent Authority.

    ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION To

    A candidate must
    a) (i) be a Domicile of UT of J&K/UT of Ladakh as the case may be (For Candidates belonging to UT of Ladakh, ST certificate issued by Competent Authority of Ladakh shall be treated as Domicile Certificate);

    (ii) not have crossed maximum age of 35 years on 01-01-2023;

    (iii) have passed 10+2 or Equivalent examination from a Recognized Board with Science subjects viz Physics, Chemistry, Biology (PCB) or Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (PCM) and English securing minimum 40 % marks in aggregate;

    (iv) be medically fit.

    b) The candidates appearing/appeared in 10+2 (12th Class) examination 2023 can also apply, provided such candidates have to qualify 12th Class examination on or before the date of declaration of the result of the Common Entrance Test /or on or before the date of counseling, as may be notified by the Board, otherwise their candidature shall be cancelled ab-initio.

    Note – I

    The eligibility is bare minimum / provisional and shall be subject to such changes/bench marks as may be fixed by the concerned Authority / University. The Board shall on receipt of any such communication from the concerned Authority/University notify the same, which shall govern the eligibility criteria. Original Documents required to be submitted in the Institution at the time of Admission:-

    a) Marks certificate of the qualifying examinations (12th class marks certificate);

    b) Date of birth (Matriculation / Secondary School Certificate only) from a recognized Board;

    c) Domicile Certificate for candidates belonging to UT of J&K and ST certificate as a Domicile for candidates belonging to UT of Ladakh;

    d) Category Certificate, if any;

    e) Any other document as may be required by the Institution.

    Roll No Slip/Admit Card : 

    The Notification for downloading of online electronic Admit Cards will be issued separately. Venue for Conduct of Examination:

    The Common Entrance Examination, if any, shall be conducted offline at Jammu / Srinagar Centres simultaneously as may be decided by the Board.

    Issuance of Admit Cards and Date of Test (if test is conducted)

    Information with regard to availability of Online Admit Cards, Venue and Time of the Common Entrance Test will be issued separately in due course of time.

    Note – II

    1. The submission of online Application Form is purely provisional and is liable to be cancelled at any stage subject to the final verification of the documents and even at any stage, where such a document is proved to be fake/false.

    2. In case the Board shall not conduct the entrance test, then the selection of the eligible candidates shall be made on the basis of the percentage of the marks obtained in the qualifying examination i.e. 12th Class.

    3. The candidature of those candidates, who may have submitted incorrect/wrong application form during online process, shall be liable to be rejected without any further notice to such candidates. However, they can rectify their error(s), if any, by submitting a representation physically at BOPEE office Jammu / Srinagar on or before last date fixed by Board for filling up of online application forms.

    4. Mere submission of the Application Form and appearance of the aspiring candidate in the Common Entrance Test shall not confer any preferential right/claim for admission upon the intending applicants, but shall be subject to the fulfillment of the eligibility criteria and the qualification prescribed for the said course.

    A. Eligibility for B.Sc. Nursing Programme:

    The candidates applying for admission to B.Sc. Nursing Programme must fulfill the following eligibility criteria;

    A candidate must:

    (i) be a domicile of UT of J&K/UT of Ladakh as the case may be (For Candidates belonging to UT of Ladakh, ST certificate issued by Competent Authority of Ladakh shall be treated as Domicile certificate);

    (ii) be 17 years old on 31st December of the year in which admission is sought.

    (iii) have passed the qualifying 12th Standard examination (10+2) and must have obtained a minimum of 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together and passed in English individually including the candidates from State Open School recognized by State Government and National Institute of Open School (NIOS) recognized by Central Government having Science subjects and English only.

    (iv) For the candidates belonging to reserved categories, the marks obtained in 3 core subjects shall be 40% instead of 45% for General category candidates.

    (v) The candidate must be medically fit.

    Further the candidates appearing/appeared in 10+2 (12th Class) examination 2023 can also apply, provided such candidates have qualified the examination at the time of declaration of the result of the Entrance Test or before the date of counseling/admission as may be notified by the Board;

    B. Eligibility for B.Sc. Para-Medical Courses:

    The candidates applying for admission to B.Sc. Para-Medical Courses must fulfill the following eligibility criteria;

    A candidate must:

    (i) be a domicile of UT of J&K/UT of Ladakh as the case may be (For Candidates belonging to UT of Ladakh, ST certificate issued by Competent authority of Ladakh shall be treated as Domicile certificate);

    (ii) be at least 17 years old on 31st December-2023;

    (iii) have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with Science (PCB) and English through a recognized Board / University securing minimum 50% marks and above for Open Merit Candidates and 40 % marks and above for candidates belonging to Reserved Categories in aggregate; Further, the candidates appearing/appeared in 10+2 (12th Class) examination; 2023 can also apply, provided such candidates have qualified the examination at the time of declaration of the result of the Entrance Test or before the date of counseling/admission as may be notified by the Board;

    The candidates applying for Lateral Entry only must have obtained diploma in concerned stream and having passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and diploma registered with J&K Para-Medical Council.

    C. Eligibility for B.Sc. Technology Courses in SKIMS, Soura, Srinagar:

    A candidate must:

    a. be a domicile of UT of J&K/UT of Ladakh as the case may be (For Candidates belonging to UT of Ladakh, ST certificate issued by Competent authority of Ladakh shall be treated as Domicile certificate);

    b. be at least 17 years old on 31st December-2023,

    c. have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with Science (PCB) and English through recognized Board / University securing minimum 50% marks and above for Open Merit Candidates and 40% marks and above for candidates belonging to Reserved Categories in aggregate;

    Further, the candidates appearing/appeared in 10+2 (12th Class) examination 2023 can also apply, provided such candidates have qualified the examination at the time of declaration of the result in the Entrance Test or before the date of counseling/admission as may be notified by the Board;
    Syllabus:
    The candidates applying for the courses mentioned above at (A), (B), (C), are advised to go through the syllabus for Common
    Entrance Test referred to in e- information brochure of B.Sc. Nursing/ B.Sc. Paramedical / B.Sc. Technology Courses available on BOPEE
    website www.jkbopee.gov.in.

    Advanced Studies in Education (IASE), Srinagar/Govt. College of Education, Canal Road, Jammu/B.Ed. Special Education in Composite Regional Centre

    All the eligible candidates appearing for Common Entrance Test (CET) for admission to B.Ed. Courses-2023, at Institute of Advanced Studies in Education (IASE), Srinagar/Govt. College of Education, Canal Road, Jammu/B.Ed. Special Education in Composite Regional Centre (CRC), Srinagar are hereby informed that the Online Admit Cards will be available for download from 22nd of April, 2023 (11:30 a.m. onwards) on official website of BOPEE www.jkbopee.gov.in. Candidates should take note of the following instructions strictly.

    Date of Entrance Examination for Common Entrance Test for B.Ed. Courses-2023 30th April, 2023 (Sunday),

    Timing of Examination : 10:00 A.M. to 01:00 P.M.

    Candidate Identification/Photo ID Proof :

    The candidates are required to affix recent passport size photograph on Electronic Admit Card downloaded by them from the official website of the BOPEE and they should carry along with them their Aadhar Card / Pan Card / Driving License / Passport / Photo ID issued by concerned College / Employer ID in original positively for their identification

    Important Guidelines
    For their own convenience, candidates are advised to visit the venue of their Exam Centre any day before start of Entrance Examination.

    The candidates should report in the examination centre in time as per the above time schedule. No candidate will be allowed to enter the Examination Hall after the prescribed time given above.

    Tab, Smart Phone, Mobile Phone, Pager, Bluetooth Device, Camera, Calculator or any other communication /electronic device /Tablet is not allowed inside the
    premises of the Examination Centre. If a candidate is found carrying any one of these devices in the Examination Centre, his/her candidature will be cancelled
    including ban for future examination/selection. The candidates are advised to keep their electronic gadgets at their residence

    The present status of the candidates shown on Admit Card or on any other document of the BOPEE is purely provisional and subject to subsequent verification

    Hyderabad: Telangana government on Thursday enhanced reservations for candidates from the Scheduled Tribes (ST) communities from six per cent to ten per cent for admissions into B.Ed, B.P.Ed and UG D.P.Ed courses through common entrance tests.

    The school education department issued orders to implement the earlier orders of the government increasing reservations for STs in educational institutions and government services.

    Telangana State Education Common Entrance Test (TS EdCET) for admissions to B.Ed courses for 2023 is scheduled on May 18. The last date to submit the application form without a late fee is April 25.

    SRINAGAR: The Agriculture Production Department in Jammu and Kashmir is all set to launch the Kisan Sampark Abhiyan, a program aimed at overall welfare of farmers across the Union Territory.

    In this regard, Additional Chief Secretary, Agriculture Production Department, Atal Dulloo, chaired a meeting on Monday to review progress on preparations being put in place for program launch.

    The Abhiyan will be launched across 3565 panchayats in Jammu and Kashmir from 24th April 2023 which will last for four months. The program aims to involve Panchayati Raj Institutions in the scheme and celebrate ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ as part of the program. To ensure success of the ambitious program, 2400 resource persons have been identified and trained for all districts besides 45 educational videos in multiple languages have been created to educate farmers and pamphlets have been printed in Urdu, Hindi and English.

    The Kisan Sampark Abhiyan will include question and answer sessions for the farmers. Furthermore, the farmers will receive education about 18 Centrally Sponsored Schemes that have been designed for their welfare and development.

    Additionally, manual passbooks under the Kisan Credit Card scheme will be replaced by smart cards for the farmers. This change is aimed at helping farmers increase their spending in the sector, ultimately leading to an improvement in their productivity and production.

    In addition to the Kisan Sampark Abhiyan, the Agriculture Production Department will launch Daksh Kisan, an online skilling platform that will provide farmers with learning opportunities. The platform will include 1700 videos across 118 courses in Urdu, Hindi, Dogri and Kashmiri. The course material with 20000 pages will cover several modules, including business management and entrepreneurship. The completion of the course will provide learners with certificates from SKUAST. The entire program is free of cost, making it an unprecedented initiative for the farming community of Jammu and Kashmir.

    The program will also launch an IT Platform, a one-stop dashboard to avail all farmers related services and schemes of the government with facility of online application and approval. The online system will also provide timely sector wise, region wise and crop wise advisories to registered farmers through SMS, irrespective of whether they have undergone any course or not.

    ACS, Atal Dulloo, encouraged the officers to educate the farmers about the program and ensure availability and increased participation of farmers and Panchayati Raj Institution members.

    The meeting also reviewed the availability of infrastructure and other facilities across all panchayats ensuring that the program benefits the farmers across the region.

    New Delhi: From Vedic concepts of astronomy to plastic surgery, Ayurveda to Yoga, higher education students will be encouraged to take courses on Indian Knowledge System as part of their academic curriculum, according to the University Grants Commission.

    According to the draft guidelines, courses on Indian Knowledge System (IKS) will have to account for at least five per cent of the total mandated credits that a student is expected to earn to obtain an undergraduate or postgraduate degree.

    “The undergraduate curriculums are diverse and have varied subjects to be covered to meet the needs of the programmes. It is not possible to have a single prescription for all the various UG and PG programmes in the country,” the draft said.

    “The primary purpose of the guidelines is to help the institutions come up with courses that will introduce the students to all aspects of IKS which are related to their fields of study and to promote interest in knowing and exploring more. A 10-year horizon is envisioned for the application of these guidelines, along with a revision and modification after five years to meet the evolving needs,” it said.

    According to the commission, IKS is a systematised disciplines of knowledge developed to a high degree of sophistication in India from ancient times and all of the traditions and practises that the various communities, including tribal, have evolved, refined and preserved over generations.

    “Student enrolled in a UG or PG programme should be encouraged to take credit courses in IKS amounting in all to at least five per cent of the total mandated credits. And at least 50 per cent of the credits apportioned to the IKS should be related to the major discipline and should be accounted for the credits assigned to the major discipline,” the draft said.

    The splendid geographical isolation of India and the uniqueness of Indian culture, Ramayana and Mahabharata, and their important regional versions; Puranas, foundational texts of Indian Philosophies, including the Jaina and Bauddha; foundational Texts of Indian religious sampradayas, from the Vedic period to the Bhakti traditions of different regions are among the courses prescribed under the IKS.
