Egyptian mother kills 5-yr-old son, cooks and eats parts of his head

Cairo: A horrific crime shook the Egyptian street on Friday, as a mother killed her 5-year-old son, then cooked his corpse and ate parts of his head, local media reported.
A woman identified as 29-year-old Hanaa, separated from her husband for about 3 years, had been living alone with her son in her own house in the village belonging to the Faqous Center in Sharkia Governorate.
According to Egyptian Daily Cairo 24, Hanaa was arrested by the police after her son’s body parts were found in buckets at her home.

The accused confirmed in the investigations that she did not intend to kill her child, and said that she “tried to eat his head so that he would not leave her forever”.
The security source familiar with the investigations revealed to Masrawy that the mother suffers from a mental illness.
It is reported that the mother was referred to the Public Prosecution Office, which requested investigations by the security services about the incident, the burial of the remainder of the child’s body, and the assignment of a medical committee to conduct a medical examination on the mother.

Kashmiri Cook’s PSA Detention In Agra Jail Quashed By High Court

SRINAGAR: The High Court of Jammu and Kashmir has quashed the detention of Ashiq Hussain Teli, a resident of Watrina Bandipora who was lodged in Agra jail under the Public Safety Act (PSA).
Teli, who worked as a cook, was arrested by police in Bandipora in January 2022 on charges of stone-pelting.
However, his lawyer, Advocate Bashir Ahmed Tak, argued that the detaining authority did not attribute any specific allegation against Teli and that he was arrested on old cases and fake charges.
Justice Sanjay Dhar, presiding over the case, ordered Teli’s release from the Agra Jail.

After ‘bad’ exam, Delhi teenager cooks up story of molestation

New Delhi: A 14-year-old girl injured herself with a blade and then cooked up a story that she was injured during a scuffle and also molested by three boys in east Delhi’s Bhajanpura area, a police official said on Monday.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, Northeast, Joy Tirkey said that police had initially registered a case under relevant sections of Pocso Act and Indian Penal Code’s sections of molestation and kidnapping but later withdrew it when the girl confessed that she had made up the story.
The incident was reported on March 15 at Bhajanpura police station.
“A school-going girl had reported that when she was returning from her school, she was stopped by 2-3 unknown boys and they had taken her to some place, molested and physically assaulted her. Her medical examination as well as counselling by the Member of the DCW were got conducted,” the DCP said.
“During investigation, CCTV footage near the place of occurrence as identified by the victim was checked, and it was found out that no such incident took place at the place and time told by the victim,” he added.
The official said that the victim was again counselled and examined in which she stated that her Class 10 board examinations were going on and her Social Studies paper had not gone well and she was afraid that her parents might be disappointed.
“She had caused the injury to herself and narrated the concocted story to her parents. Accordingly, the victim girl was produced before the Magistrate where she reiterated her last statement,” said the official.
