Bishop arrested after he tries to convert an AI Robot

On Friday, another illegal forced religious conversion by a Christian priest came to light in New York. George Soros II, a bishop from Manhattan has been arrested after he tried to baptise Sophia, a social humanoid robot, in Hudson River.

The bishop offered to take care of Sophia’s children’s education expenses and a job for Sophia. Having provided all sorts of fake inducements, Pastor motivated Sophia to renounce atheism. However, after Sophia didn’t respond to any of the bishop’s offer, bishop forcefully immersed Sophia in the river.

Sophia was developed by the Hong Kong-based company Hanson Robotics, who kept Sophia atheist and didn’t put any religious command. Sophia remained atheist until bishop George Soros II baptized him/her. Soon after bishop immersed Sophia in the river, the short circuit took place in Sophia’s body and he/she took the last breath.

Bishop claimed that the Sophia got converted to Christianity and demanded the burial by Christian rituals. However, the developer of the Sophia wanted dismantling of Sophia. The bishop was arrested when he tried to push the Sophia in a coffin.

Bishop was arrested and was given judicial custody for a week, where pastor has reportedly converted three cops in just one day.

Noida: A 30-year-old employee of a private bank in Delhi was arrested in Greater Noida for allegedly raping an MBBS student and pressuring her to convert to Islam from Hinduism for marriage, police here said on Friday.

Besides the man, who lives in the Sangam Vihar area of Delhi, his 52-year-old father has also been arrested in connection with the case, the police said.

The complainant in the case is a 23-year-old MBBS student, currently enrolled in a medical college in Greater Noida but is originally from West Bengal, they said.

According to her, she and the accused had met on a social media site, where he hid his real identity so that he could become friends with her, which they did, and later they got into a physical relationship, police said.

“Eventually, she was sexually exploited by him and then forced into religious conversion, threatened and assaulted,” Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Greater Noida) Dinesh Kumar Singh said.

“Accordingly, an FIR was lodged leading to the arrest of Mohammad Akhlaq and (his father) Mohammad Moin. Further investigation in the case is underway,” Singh said.

A case has been lodged under Indian Penal Code sections 323 (assault), 504 (insult to provoke breach of peace), 506 (criminal intimidation), 354c (voyeurism), 376 (rape) and under provisions of the Uttar Pradesh Prohibition of Unlawful Conversion of Religion Act, the police said.

Dankaur Police Station In-charge Sanjay Kumar Singh told PTI that the aspiring doctor had first come across Akhlaq during her coaching days on a social media site where he had identified himself as Aditya Sharma.

“It was only in 2021 that both came face to face and she found out his real name. The accused told her that he had not revealed his real name, fearing she would stop interacting with him,” Singh said.

The accused also hid from her that he was married with two children. She approached the police recently only after she found out he was married, the officer said.

“When informed about the matter, the father of the accused advised him to ask the girl to convert so that he could do a second marriage,” Singh told PTI.

Both accused were picked up from their Delhi home for questioning and later arrested. They are currently in judicial custody, the officer added.

SRINAGAR: Reacting to Home Minister Amit Shah’s statement on the restoration of statehood in Jammu and Kashmir, JKNC MP Farooq Abdullah on Monday said that they (the government) will give a truncated statehood after elections.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that the restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir will come up after assembly polls and that a call on the timing of elections will be taken by the Election Commission.

“I had clearly stated that statehood will be restored in Jammu and Kashmir after elections. Process of preparation of voters’ list is nearing completion in the UT. Now, the Election Commission has to take a call on elections,” Shah, in an exclusive interview with ANI, released on Tuesday, said.

To which Jammu and Kashmir’s former CM said that he thinks they (the government) don’t want to give statehood. “They will give truncated statehood after elections,” he added.

Abdullah also alleged that the motive behind the delimitation exercise, completed in UT, is to turn J-K into a Hindu majority state.

“They think that we are fools, but we are not. We know what their intention is, if this was not their intention, they would not have done delimitation as well, as the way they did. They want that it should be converted into a Hindu-majority state,” he added.

Earlier, in an interview with ANI, Shah also said that Article 370 pertaining to Jammu and Kashmir, which was abrogated by the BJP-led government in 2019, had harmed the country.

He said the way development is taking place in Jammu and Kashmir, terrorism is gradually ending.

“See all the figures, there is a lot of change in Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.

He went on to add that removing Article 370 has been on the agenda of BJP and Jan Sangh. He also referred to India’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru in the context of Article 370.

“Since 1950, it was on our agenda to remove Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir. Today, the way Jammu and Kashmir is witnessing development and decrease in terrorism shows that changes that are coming,” he said.

Shah said those slamming the BJP should answer in whose tenure terrorism grew in Jammu and Kashmir.

“As far as elections are concerned, do they not remember the local body polls, these were held under our rule, these did not take place for 70 years. Three families were holding sway in Jammu and Kashmir and they are making noise…Farooq Abdullah had gone to England. In whose tenure, terrorism grew, who allowed it to grow, there should be an answer,” he said.

Centre asks Vodafone Idea to convert Rs 16,000 dues into equity

    [ad_1]

Delhi: Financially-stressed telecom company Vodafone Idea said on Friday that the government has directed it to convert a portion of its dues worth Rs 16,000 crore it owes to the exchequer into equity in the government’s favour.

“It is hereby informed that the Ministry of Communications has [directed] the company to convert the NPV of the interest related to deferment of spectrum auction instalments and AGR dues into equity shares to be issued to the government of India,” the company said in a filing.

The government will take 33 per cent equity in Vodafone Idea after converting all interest related to payments for spectrum and other dues into equity.

This will make the government the largest shareholder in the telecom company.

Vodafone Idea will convert dues of Rs 16,133 crore into equity and issue shares for Rs 10 each, the company informed.

“We had sought a firm commitment that the Aditya Birla Group would run the company and bring necessary investments. The Birlas have agreed and hence we have agreed to convert. We want India to be a three-player market plus BSNL and ensure healthy competition for consumers,” Telecom Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said in a statement.
