  • KCR’s special strategy for Goshamahal, Huzurabad, Dubbak assembly constituencies

KCR’s special strategy for Goshamahal, Huzurabad, Dubbak assembly constituencies

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister and BRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao is gearing up for a hat-trick in Telangana and is planning to win the BJP’s all three assembly constituencies.

According to sources, KCR has decided to set a target of winning 100 seats for the assembly elections and preparing the election strategy. In view of the tense situation at the national and state level from the BJP, KCR has started planning to capture all three existing seats of the BJP in the Telangana Assembly so that the state can become free from the BJP’s influence.

Sources said KCR has focussed on Goshamahal, Huzurabad, and Dubbak assembly constituencies represented by Raja Singh, Eatala Rajender, and Raghunandan Rao. In the by-elections, the BJP wrested Dubbak and Huzurabad seats from the BRS, while Raja Singh won in Goshamahal. KCR wants the pink flag to be hoisted on the three assembly segments somehow. Separate teams are being formed for the three assembly constituencies. KCR says the main objective is to deprive the BJP of representation in the state assembly.

Goshamahal MLA Raja Singh who is known for his hate speeches was suspended from BJP for blasphemy and has not been reinstated till date.

Police had sent Raja Singh to jail under the PD Act but the court granted him conditional bail. To focus on Goshamahal, KCR has appointed Nand Kishore Vyas as in-charge who is likely to contest the upcoming assembly elections on a BRS ticket. In 2018, Prem Singh Rathore was the BRS candidate who got 44,000 votes.

In Huzurabad, MLC P Kaushik Reddy has been instructed to be ready for the contest to defeat Eatala Rajender. After being expelled from the BRS, E. Rajendra joined the BJP and won the by-election. It is said that Kaushik Reddy will be fielded against him.

Medak MP K Prabhakar Reddy is likely to contest against Raghunandan Rao in Dubbak. The chief minister has directed Prabhakar Reddy to focus on Dubbak. It remains to be seen to what extent KCR, who dreams of a hat-trick of power in Telangana, will be able to capture all three BJP seats.

  • Hoist BRS flag in all constituencies of Telangana on April 25: KTR

Hoist BRS flag in all constituencies of Telangana on April 25: KTR

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president and state IT minister KT Rama Rao on Sunday directed the party members to ensure that the BRS flag is hoisted in all constituencies on the party’s foundation day.

KTR directed the party leaders to conduct programs to strengthen the party and mobilise the 60 lakh party members before the foundation day on April 25, said a press release from the BRS.

“The party flags should be unveiled in all constituencies and meetings have to be held throughout the day on the party foundation day, on April 25,” KTR said at tele-conference with the party’s district presidents and general secretaries.

KTR instructed the BRS members to inaugurate the district party offices by April 25. “Aathmeeya Sammelan programs should be held in each town and all towns should be covered two months before the party foundation day,” said KT Rama Rao.

The BRS leader directed the party district presidents to send a detailed schedule of the meetings to the party at the earliest.

KTR said that the state government will conduct the birth anniversary celebrations of Dr BR Ambedkar on a grand scale. “No other party in the history of our country honoured the legacy of BR Ambedkar. The tallest statue of Dr Ambedkar is being set up in Hyderabad, and the new Secretariat is named after him,” he added.

KTR informed that a wide range of programs will be held on the occasion of the unveiling of the Martyrs’ Memorial on June 1. He directed the party’s student wing to undertake a membership registration drive, form committees in the wing and organise programs to welcome intermediate students and students of professional courses like engineering and medicine for the academic year 2023-24.

  • BRS to contest all 175 constituencies in upcoming AP assembly polls

BRS to contest all 175 constituencies in upcoming AP assembly polls

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh (AP) Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) state president Thota Chandrasekhar on Wednesday said that the party will contest from all the 175 constituencies during the next Assembly elections in the state.

He said issues pertaining to farmers, youth and women were on the party’s agenda and argued that the nation was in critical condition, with farmers and youth suffering from lack of opportunities.

Chandrasekhar said that after BRS comes to power “the Telangana development model will be implemented in Andhra Pradesh for the latter’s swift growth.” He participated in a demonstration in Vijayawada earlier this week with the BRS cadre, and on Wednesday he decorated the Vangaveeti Ranga statue on Bandar Road.

Addressing to reporters on the occasion, Chandrasekhar claimed that the BRS was picking up steam in national politics and that this development was also being seen in Andhra Pradesh. He denounced the BJP-led federal government, saying it had done Andhra Pradesh grievous injustice by not carrying out the promises made in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act. He made note of the fact that the people of Andhra Pradesh were abandoned and lacked even a state.

“If voted to power, the BRS will build the State capital within three to four years. We will also complete construction of the Polavaram project, establish Kadapa Steel Plant, Vizag railway zone, Duggarajapatnam port and implement other projects assured under AP Reorganisation Act,” he added.

He said that the Congress was no longer a power to be reckoned with and was unable to challenge the BJP. As a result, the BRS created the slogan “Ab ki Baar, Kisan Sarkar,” providing the voice to the poor that was sorely lacking.

  • SC dismisses petition against redrawing constituencies in J&K

SC dismisses petition against redrawing constituencies in J&K

    [ad_1]

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Monday affirmed delimitation of Assembly and parliamentary constituencies in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.

A bench headed by Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul and comprising Justice A.S. Oka clarified that the decision on delimitation would not affect a separate batch of matters where abrogation of Article 370 is under challenge before a constitution bench of the apex court. The detailed judgment will be uploaded later in the day.

The apex court delivered judgment in a petition filed by two Srinagar residents, Haji Abdul Gani Khan and Dr Mohammad Ayub Mattoo, challenging the increase in the number of seats from 107 to 114 in the UT. The petitioners had argued that it was ultra vires Articles 81, 82, 170, 330 and 332 of the Indian Constitution and Section 63 of the Jammu & Kashmir Reorganisation Act, 2019.

Following the abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019 dividing the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir into two union territories, the Delimitation Commission was appointed to redraw the Assembly constituencies of J&K. The commission submitted its report recommending 90 Assembly constituencies in the Union Territory.

  • Praja Sangrama Yatra: Bandi Sanjay likely to cover 17 LS constituencies

Praja Sangrama Yatra: Bandi Sanjay likely to cover 17 LS constituencies

    [ad_1]

New Delhi: After successfully completing five phases of his ‘Praja Sangrama Yatra’, which started in August last year across 57 assembly constituencies, the BJP’s Telangana president Bandi Sanjay is all set to embark on another round of the yatra.

The latest leg of the yatra will be covered in a bus, in line with an idea floated by central leaders.

“We are in the process of finalising the schedule. However, as of now, the plan is to cover 17 Lok Sabha parliamentary constituencies in a space of 35-40 days. We will propose that this phase of yatra to gets underway by the end of February,” a party source said.

During the yatra, cenrtral leaders will join the BJP state chief at every Lok Sabha constituency that he covers.

Several Union ministers have been put in charge of various constituencies and assigned clusters as the party prepares for the year-end Assembly polls. Union Ministers, including Pralhad Joshi, Mahendra Nath Pandey, Jyotiraditya Scindia, BL Verma and Devu Sinh Chauhan, have been assigned several responsibilities in Telangana.

Another plan around the yatra is also being discussed. “If the padayatra rolls out for another phase, the state president will cover 11 Assembly constituencies from Kodangal to Nizamabad.” another source told ANI.

PM Narendra Modi had heaped praise on the party Telangana state president at the recently concluded two-day National Executive meeting.

PM Modi had said Bandi’s fighting spirit could be compared to that of stalwarts like Telegu legend NTR.

Bandi, who embarked on his Praja Sangrama Yatra in August 2021, has walked 1,393 kilometres in 120 days. The fifth phase of the yatra has covered 57 Assembly seats. Sanjay has held 112 public meetings, 72 gram sabhas and 90 cohort meetings so far.

Over the course of his Praja Sangrama Yatra, Sanjay has taken the attack to K Chandrasekhar Rao-led Telangana government and has highlighted the BJP’s core agenda.

Bandi launched a tirade against the Telangana government, calling it a dynastic regime that has put the interest of the people and the state’s development on the back burner.
