Hyderabad: National Handloom Expo to be conducted from March 11

Hyderabad: The National Handloom Expo – 2023 will be conducted from Saturday in the city, after a nod from the Union Development Commissioner for Handlooms.
Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) Commissioner has accorded permission to conduct the Handloom Expo at Peoples Plaza, Necklace Road for a period of 14 days from March 11 to March 24.
Telangana handlooms and textiles department has addressed all the state commissioners and the managing directors of the state-level organisations in the country for sponsoring the primary handloom weavers societies and the APEX organisations participating in the expo.

Fire safety mock drills conducted across Telangana

Hyderabad: Mock drills have been conducted in places like the High court, Army AOC Centre, GAIL, and Police Batallion by the crew of fire stations under the ‘Telangana state Fire Safety Awareness Program’ in the state on Friday.
An inspection and awareness program of hazardous premises has been taken in coordination with police and the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC).
In the past 10 days, 552 hazardous premises in the Kukatpally division and 400 hazardous premises in the Rajendranagar division have been inspected and awareness programs have been conducted in these places.
The respective management have been instructed on how to tackle fire accidents with zero casualty and minimum loss of property. They were directed to maintain fire safety appliances.
As part of fire safety awareness, every Friday mock drills and awareness programs are to be conducted all over the Telangana state.
The programs will be conducted in places such as fuel refilling stations, schools, colleges, and industries, educating the public on the do’s and don’ts of a fire emergency.

Calculations of the Iskander OTRK of the Baltic Fleet conducted missile strike exercises
The crews of the operational-tactical missile systems (OTRK) “Iskander” of the missile formation of the Baltic Fleet conducted exercises to deliver missile strikes against important targets of a mock enemy. This was reported in the press service of the fleet, reports TASS.
It is noted that, as part of the exercise, the missilemen carried out a covert advance to the designated positional area, equipped starting positions, and also performed single and group electronic launches on targets that imitated missile launchers, airfields, protected objects and command posts of a mock enemy.
The press service noted that during the exercises, the command of the formation from mobile command posts practiced issues of covert control of units. The combat crews of the missilemen operated under conditions of imitation of radiation and chemical contamination of the area. Also, the rocket men repelled the attack of sabotage and reconnaissance groups of a mock enemy.
Mobile OTRK “Iskander” are designed to destroy important objects, air defense and missile defense systems of the enemy at ranges up to 500 kilometers.
In December 2022, the first deputy director of Rostec, Vladimir Artyakov, announced that Russia had significantly increased the production of Iskander OTRK missiles.
In September 2022, the Commander-in-Chief of the Ground Forces, General of the Army Oleg Salyukov, called the Iskander-M OTRK the best in its class.

Interrogation of Sisodia shall be conducted under CCTV coverage: Court tells CBI

New Delhi: The Rouse Avenue Court on Monday while sending Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) remand directed that the interrogation of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader during remand period shall be conducted at some place having CCTV coverage in accordance with guidelines laid down by the Supreme Court and the said footage shall be preserved by the CBI.
Special Judge MK Nagpal on Monday decided to send Manish Sisodia to CBI remand till March 4. Sisodia was arrested on Sunday in an ongoing investigation of a case related to alleged irregularities in the framing and implementation of the excise policy of the Delhi government.
The court said, keeping in view the facts and circumstances, the accused is being remanded to CBI custody for a period of five days ie till March 4 for his further and extensive interrogation.
The court observed that the accused had joined the investigation of this case on two earlier occasions, but it has also been observed that he has failed to provide satisfactory answers to most of the questions put to him during his examination and interrogation conducted and has thus, failed to legitimately explain the incriminating evidence which has allegedly surfaced against him in the investigation conducted so far.
It is true that he cannot be expected to make self-incriminating statements, but the interests of justice and of a fair investigation require that he should come up with some legitimate answers to the questions which are being put to him by the Investigation Officer.
Some of his subordinates are found to have disclosed certain facts which can be taken as incriminating against him and some documentary evidence against him has also already surfaced and a proper and fair investigation requires that some genuine and legitimate answers to the questions being put to him about the same are to be found and hence, in considered opinion of this court, this can only be done during custodial interrogation of the accused, noted the court.
During arguements, CBI counsel told the court that the Delhi Deputy CM’s custodial interrogation is required for an effective investigation into the case. While seeking five days’ remand of Sisodia, CBI said, “Conspiracy was hatched in a very planned and secret manner.”
Meanwhile, senior Advocate Dayan Krishnan appeared for Sisodia and opposed the remand application of CBI.

“if someone is not willing to say something, that cannot be a ground for arrest,” argued Sosodia’s lawyer. What should I do with a phone that I changed? I am a minister, I cannot send it to a second-hand shop, it would have important data. CBI confronted me with the material but I did not confess. The Remand application says I gave evasive replies. This cannot be a ground for remand. They search my residence on August 19. 2022. I handover my phone. They called me to join the investigation and I joined. I cooperated,” Advocate Dayan Krishnan argued for Delhi Deputy CM.
The CBI on Sunday released a statement on Sisodia’s arrests, claiming he was giving evasive replies and was not cooperating in the ongoing investigation in the liquor scam case.

JKSSB Releases Results for Junior Assistant Skill Test conducted in February – TheNewsCaravan Newspaper

The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has released the results of the Junior Assistant Skill Test. The exam was conducted from 09 February to 11 February 2023. Candidates who appeared for the exam can check their results on the official website of JKSSB at jkssb.nic.in.
The JKSSB Junior Assistant Skill Test was conducted to recruit candidates for the Junior Assistant position in various government departments across the state of Jammu and Kashmir. The exam was held in various centers across the state and a large number of candidates had appeared for the same.

Candidates who had qualified in the Computer Based Test (CBT) had appeared for the Skill Test. The JKSSB has now released the list of candidates who have cleared the Skill Test. The list contains the roll numbers of the qualified candidates along with their names.
Candidates can check their results by visiting the official website of JKSSB and downloading the PDF file containing the result. The PDF file contains the roll numbers and names of the candidates who have cleared the Skill Test.
Candidates who have cleared the Skill Test will now be called for the next round of selection process which will be the document verification process. Candidates will have to bring all the required documents for verification at the time of document verification.
The JKSSB has also released a notification stating that candidates who have any objections with regard to their result can submit their objections within seven days from the date of release of the result. The objections should be submitted in writing along with all the necessary documents.

Census of migratory, resident birds in Kashmir wetlands to be conducted tomorrow

Srinagar, Feb 20: The Department of Wildlife Protection (Wetlands Division, Kashmir), is conducting the census of Migratory/resident Birds in the valley wetlands on 21st of February-2023.
The participants from Kashmir University, SKUAST-K, Central University, various colleges, Wildlife Conservation Fund, National Development Foundation, Biodiversity Management Committees, Kashmir Bird Watchers Club, Wildlife SOS, Wildlife Researchers, Society for Environment Education and Development, Wildlife Conservation Foundation, Volunteers and freelancers are taking part in the said census.
Meanwhile, in this milieu an orientation programme was conducted at Camping Ground, Hokersar Srinagar to inculcate the census techniques amongst the participants and to add valuable suggestions received from the participants. Different teams/groups were established on spot for different locations so that comprehensive estimation will be ensured.
The aim of the bird count is to monitor the population fluctuation trends of migratory birds and to collect overall figures to incorporate the same with the general bird count throughout India.
The census is being conducted on 21st of February-2023 not only in eight protected wetlands managed by the department like Hokersar, Shalabugh, Hygam, Mirgund, Chatlum, Kranchoo, Manibugh, Freshkhoori but also in other 25 water bodies of the valley which harbor sizeable number of migratory birds during winter migration.
The Wildlife Warden, Wetlands Division Kashmir, Ifshan Deewan, stated that coordinated efforts by the Department of Wildlife Protection to conduct the Annual Water bird Census (AWC) this year shall go a long way in creating a sound database of various water bird species particularly the migratory waterfowl that visit the wetlands of the Valley during winter months—(KNO)

JKSSB releases answer key for CBT conducted for multiple posts – TheNewsCaravan Newspaper

The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has conducted a Computer Based Written Test (CBT) for the recruitment of various posts such as Labour Inspector, Labour Officer, Research Assistant, Assistant Law Officer, Junior Librarian, and more. The test was held from 6th February 2023 to 8th February 2023.
According to the latest announcement, the JKSSB has released the answer key(s) along with the question paper for the exams. The answer key(s) can be accessed by the candidates through the online link available on the official website of the JKSSB i.e. www.jkssb.nic.in starting from 16th February 2023 at 4:00 PM and ending on 19th February 2023.
The candidates who have objections to any of the answers provided in the answer key can submit their objections/representations along with the documentary evidence/reference by paying a non-refundable processing fee of Rs. 200/- (Rupees Two Hundred only) per question. The payment of the processing fee can be made through Debit card / Credit card/Net Banking/ UPI until 19th February 2023.
However, the objections will not be accepted through any other medium and no objection will be entertained without receipt of the processing fee. If the objection is found to be correct, the Answer Key will be revised accordingly for all candidates, and the result will be prepared and declared based on the revised Final Answer Key.
The JKSSB has advised the candidates not to share their login credentials or answer key with anyone and shall be responsible themselves for any misuse of their individual Answer Key. Furthermore, no candidate will be informed about the acceptance/non-acceptance of their objection individually, and no objection/representation will be accepted after 19th February 2023.

Gulmarg, Feb 12 (GNS): Sunny weather blessed at Gulmarg on Sunday giving respite to players and organisers as all the events scheduled for the day were conducted smoothly at all the venues. All the players, coaches, officials donning their jerseys with enthusiastic spirit reached venues early to earn time for final practice before matches.
One of the Alpine G slalom players while expressing his happiness said that it is a great opportunity to participate in 3^rd Edition of Khelo India. He said that today the weather is very pleasant and he hopes to give his best to make his state proud.
The sports events fixed for 3^rd day of Winter Games included Ice Stock, Ice Hockey, Ice Skating, Bandy Curling, Bobsleighing & Skelton, Snow Shoe, Nordic, Ski Mountaineering, Alpine G Slalom and Cross Country.
During the events, a huge number of spectators clapped and shouted to extend support to their favourite teams. Meanwhile winners were awarded prizes by the officers & officials of J&K Sports councils after registering top position by defeating opponent teams & players.
Earlier, In bandy Gujarat registered first position, Haryana second position while Maharashtra satisfied with third position.Similarly, in Ice Skating of 1000 Mtr. for the senior Girls category, Swarali Ashutosh Deo of Maharashtra achieved 1^st position, Raina Kukreja got 2^nd position and Anushka Merchant obtained 3^rd position, both the players belonged to Haryana.
In the same event of senior Men, Suyog Sanjay Tapkir of Maharashtra wrested 1^st position, Anubhav Gupta from UP and Padma Gurmeet of Ladakh got 2^nd and 3^rd position respectively.
In another Figure Skaters event of Boys 13-15 Years, Kapish Kaushik and Utkarsh Saxena both players from Haryana got first and second positions respectively while Ayush Jaguri, Uttrakhand had to satisfy at 3^rd position. While in Figure Skaters Girls-15-19 Years, Wafa Tariq from J&K topped, followed by Chelsi Singh of Haryana at 2^nd position and Shezan Wani, J&K at 3^rd position.
Also, in Figure Skaters age category Senior Girls, Kashish Sharma stayed at top and Suyog Sanjay Tapkir obtained top position in Speed Skaters in Senior Men Category.

Aman Thakur (HAWS) got gold medal in Senior Men Long Distance competition, Ghulam Haider (Ladakh)got gold in Junior Boys Long Distance competition, Dhanalaksmi ( Karnataka) received gold in Senior Women Long Distance category and Sara (J&K) took gold medal Junior Girls Long Distance.
In Nordic 15 KMS (Men) Shubham Parihar ( Army Red) got 1^st position and in Nordic 1.5 KM Jr. Girls Shabnum (HP) scaled top position. Farhat Shabir (J&K) & Priyanshu Kawan (UK) achieved first position in Alpine Catogory 01 Boys and Alpine Catogory 02 Boys respectively.
During the entire day, officers of J&K Sports council continued to monitor events by visiting venues and interacting with the players. Secretary J&K Sports council while speaking at Kongdoori said all the events are going as per schedule at all the venues. She said that players were very happy and ready to show their capabilities.
She informed that Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Anurag Thakur instructed the department to organise sports events at other destinations including Sonmarg, Pahalgam Doodpathri in future and other possible venues to promote the winter sports at these places. (GNS)

NEET-PG To Be Conducted On March 5: Health Minister

SRINAGAR: The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Postgraduate (NEET PG 2023) will be conducted as per the schedule date on March 5, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya informed the Lok Sabha on Friday.
Mandaviya said that the decision to not postpone NEET PG 2023 has been taken to streamline the process to avoid further delay in the exam and counselling process caused due to COVID-19.
The Minister was replying to a question by Congress member Gaurav Gogoi.
“It is important to prevent delays caused due to COVID-19 and hence I have informed the students’ delegation about why the exam will not be rescheduled,” he said, adding that earlier examinations were delayed by seven to eight months and later by four months. If I keep on delaying, such a situation will come…. It is very necessary to fix it and to conduct the entrance test on time”.
“To ensure that no one is left out, the ministry has extended the cut-off date for all those MBBS students who are yet to complete their internship. The government has recently extended the internship cut-off date to August 11, 2023, so that no students across the country are ineligible to appear for the exam. Secondly, students were informed about five months earlier that the NEET PG exam 2023 will be held on March 5,” the health minister said. (IANS)

Telangana: National Lok Adalat to be conducted on Feb 11

Hyderabad: Following instructions from the directions of the National Legal Services Authority, National Lok Adalat will be conducted on February 11 in Telangana at all levels from the High Court to Taluq level for settlement of all kinds of civil cases and compoundable criminal cases (both pre-litigation and pending litigation cases).
In this process, under the able guidance of Chief Justice and Patron-in-Chief and Executive Chairman, Telangana State Legal Services Authority, the National Lok Adalat is scheduled to be organized all over the state in all the courts on February 11 for settlement of all civil and compoundable criminal cases. The Lok Adalat is rendering services without any expenditure (or) fees. The court fee if any paid in the pending cases will be refunded, if the matter is settled through Lok Adalat and no appeal lies against the award passed in Lok Adalat.
The general public is requested to avail the benefit of the Lok Adalat Mechanism for the settlement of their cases in the ensuing National Lok Adalat on February 11 in physical and virtual mode. Therefore, all the persons who are willing to settle their pending cases or pre-litigation cases may approach the chairman/secretary of the District Legal Services Authority. Nyaya Seva Sadan in the District Court complex of respective Districts (or) the nearest Mandal Legal Services Committee/the nearest Court to get their disputes resolved through National Lok Adalat on February 11.
