Viveka murder case: Telangana HC completes hearing on CBI plea

Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court posted Thursday orders on the CBI petition to cancel the bail of Yerra Gangi Reddy, the main accused in former Andhra Pradesh Minister Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy’s murder case.
The court completed a hearing on the petition filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and adjourned the case to Thursday for judgement.
The judgement is eagerly awaited as the CBI investigation in the case has entered a crucial phase.

The Supreme Court recently extended the deadline for completing the investigation into the sensational case till June 30.
The CBI sought the cancellation of the bail on the ground that Gangi Reddy is the main accused and has been influencing key witnesses in the case.
During the previous hearing, the CBI counsel had argued that Gangi Reddy is having political backing and is trying to put pressure on the witnesses through his connections.
Justice D. Ramesh had asked the CBI to submit some evidence that Gangi Reddy is influencing witnesses.
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Andhra Pradesh police, which was then investigating the murder case, arrested Gangi Reddy on March 28, 2019

Gangi Reddy was granted default bail by a local court at Pulivendula in October 2021 on technical grounds as the CBI failed to file the charge sheet within 90 days of registering the FIR. Later, the Andhra Pradesh High Court also upheld the decision of the lower court.
The CBI had approached the Supreme Court, challenging the order of the High Court.
The Supreme Court in November last year transferred the trial in the murder case from Andhra Pradesh to CBI court in Hyderabad. Consequent to this, the apex court asked the CBI to approach the Telangana High Court for cancellation of bail of Gangi Reddy.
Vivekananda Reddy, brother of former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy and uncle of present Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, was murdered at his residence in Pulivendula of Kadapa district on March 15, 2019, weeks before elections.
The 68-year-old former state minister and former MP was alone at his house when unidentified persons barged in and killed him.
The CBI took over the investigation into the case in 2020 on the direction of Andhra Pradesh High Court while hearing a petition of Vivekananda Reddy’s daughter Suneetha Reddy, who raised suspicion about some relatives.
The Supreme Court transferred the case to Hyderabad while observing that doubts raised by Suneetha Reddy about getting a fair trial and investigation in Andhra Pradesh were reasonable.

In 5 years , Srinagar man completes handwritten Quran with translation

Srinagar, 21,Apr:- A 60-year old man from central Kashmir’s Srinagar district has completed handwritten holy Quran along with translation in around five years.
Mohammad Shafi Bhat from Firdous Abad Batamaloo Srinagar completed hand written holy Quran along with translation on the occasion of Shab-e-Qadr this year.
Shafi who is by profession a business while talking to VOK said that in year 2018, when he was offering Zuhr prayers and some how started thinking about the day of judgement.
My father used to tell me Allah can love your any good work and on that basis I along with family decided to write the Quran, he said.
Everyday I used to give two hours in writing the Quran along with meaning and it took me around five years to complete it, he said.
On the occasion of Lailat-ul-Qadr, I completed this work and it consists of 550 pages, he said and everything whether it is binding or something else, I myself completed its whole process.
“I have used different colours to beautify the writing with meaning with an aim so that we can understand what the Quran teaches us, he said.

I was expecting that this process will be completed by Eid ul Azha but then my family members told me that Quran was revealed on Lailat-ul-Qadr and it must be completed on that very day, so I worked hard for one month to complete it, he said.
Our youth have started indulging in immoral activities and if anyone wants to get success in both worlds he must learn Quran and follow the path of Quran, he added.( VOK)

S S Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’ completes a year, still running housefull shows

Mumbai: It’s been an eventful year for S S Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’. The movie completed one year today since its release. From the theatres to the stage of the 95th Academy Awards, ‘RRR’ has made India proud on the global stage scripting history after bagging the Oscar for Best Original Score.
To mark this occasion, the Instagram handle of the movie ‘RRR’, shared a post. Helmed by SS Rajamouli, ‘RRR’ is a fictional story based on the lives of two Telugu freedom fighters, Alluri Seetharama Raju and Komaram Bheem. Ram Charan and Jr NTR played lead roles, respectively. The film collected over Rs 1200 crore worldwide. Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn played essential characters in the movie.
‘RRR’s power-packed song ‘Naatu Naatu’ won the Oscar for ‘Original Song’ beating heavyweight contenders like Rihanna and Lady Gaga.
Before entering the Oscars, the song bagged awards on the global stage. In January, ‘Naatu Naatu’ won the Golden Globes in the ‘Best Original Song’ category. Five days later, ‘RRR’ bagged two more awards at the 28th edition of the Critics Choice Awards.
One is for the best song and another is for the ‘best foreign language film’.

‘Pathaan’ completes fifty days in theatres, still playing in 20 countries

Mumbai: Shah Rukh starrer ‘Pathaan’ completed 50 glorious days in theatres on Wednesday.
“‘PATHAAN’ 50 DAYS… STILL PLAYING IN 20 COUNTRIES… #Pathaan celebrates 50 days at cinemas today… Being screened at 800 cinemas in #India and 135 cinemas across international markets,” trade analyst Taran Adarsh said in a tweet.
Shah Rukh Khan’s manager Pooja Dadlani shared the same post with folded hand emojis.
The film infused a new lease of life into the pandemic-stricken hindi film industry which has seen back-to-back flops last year.
The film has emerged as the highest grossing hindi film of all time, breaking the record of ‘Bahubali 2.’ ‘Pathaan’ raked 528.29 crores rupees while ‘Bahubali 2’ minted 510.99 crore rupees.
Shah Rukh Khan recently posted on Twitter, “”ITS NOT THE BUSINESS….ITS STRICTLY PERSONAL”. Making ppl smile & entertaining them is our business & if we don’t take it personally….it will never fly. UAE astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi, crewmates completes launch rehearsal

United Arab Emirates astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi and three crewmates completed a rehearsal of launch day activities at Nasa’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida on February 24.
The Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center (MBRSC) posted on Twitter photos of Al Neyadi with astronauts Stephen Bowen, Warren Hoburg, and Andrei Fedyaev wearing SpaceX spacesuits inside the space capsule.
“Astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi and his Crew-6 colleagues completed a full rehearsal for the launch day,” MBRSC tweeted.
SpaceX announced that it has also completed a static test firing of the Falcon 9 rocket as well as dry rehearsals for Crew-6 members is completed.
A static fire test is a vehicle ground test to check the entire preflight test process and detect any potential issues. Having finished rehearsal in their spacesuits in the spacecraft now perpendicular to the rocket, the four-man crew including Al Neyadi looked happy and ready for take off.
Crew-6 will spend six months conducting 250 research experiments, of which Al Neyadi will conduct at least 20 personally, in addition to performing other tasks and maintenance work at the Orbital Science Laboratory.
The lift-off of SpaceX Falcon 9 will take place from Kennedy’s Launch Complex 39A on February 27 at 10:45 am UAE local time.

Virat Kohli completes 25,000 runs in international cricket; beats Sachin

New Delhi: Star India batter Virat Kohli completed 25,000 runs in international cricket on Sunday, becoming only the sixth batter to touch the landmark and the fastest player to do so.
Virat reached this landmark during the second Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia in front of his home crowd at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi.
In the 12th over of India’s second innings in a chase of 115 runs, Kohli drove the first ball bowled by spinner Nathan Lyon for a boundary in the long-on region, exhibiting some great footwork.
In the first innings, he had played a composed knock of 44 runs in 84 balls.
Now, in 492 matches and 549 innings, he has scored 25,012 runs at an average of 53.55. Virat has scored 74 centuries and 129 half-centuries in international cricket, with the best score of 254. Virat has played 106 Tests so far, in which he has 8,195 runs at an average of 48.77 with 27 tons and 28 fifties. His best score in the format is 254.
In ODIs, Virat has smashed 12,809 in 271 matches at an average of 57.69. He has 46 tons and 64 half-centuries in the format with the best score of 183.
The batter has also scored 4,008 T20I runs at an average of 52.73. He has a century and 37 fifties in the format.
This makes him the fastest batter to have accomplished the landmark. He surpassed compatriot and legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, who reached the 25,000-run mark in 577 innings.

He is currently the sixth-highest run-scorer in the history of international cricket.
The top-five runs in the history of the sport are India’s Sachin Tendulkar (34,357), Sri Lankan great Kumar Sangakkara (28,016), Australian batting legend Ricky Ponting (27,483), SL’s Mahela Jayawardene (25,957) and South African all-round great Jacques Kallis (25,534).
He is also India’s second-highest run-scorer next to Tendulkar.

SCR completes electrification between Vikarabad-Parli Vaijanth

Hyderabad: The South Central Railway has completed the Vikarabad-Parli Vaijnath electrification project, which covers Telangana, Karnataka, and Maharashtra.
The final stretch of the project between Latur Road-Parli Vaijnath, a distance of 63.75 km, has been commissioned, marking the completion of the entire project.
With this, the entire section of 268 km, covering around 90 km in Telangana, 62 km in Karnataka, and 116 km in Maharashtra states now stands electrified.
Vikarabad-Parli Vaijnath electrification project was sanctioned in 2018-19 at an estimated cost of Rs 244 crore.
The stretch between Vikarabad-Kohir Deccan (a distance of 45 km) was commissioned in March 2021 and the stretch between Kohir Deccan-Khanapur (60.5 kms was completed in January 2022. Later, a 98.75 km stretch between Khanapur-Latur Road was electrified in October 2022. Now, the last stretch of the project has been completed.
The SCR said the trains in the entire section can now be operated with electric traction on end to end basis. This is one of the important sections handling trains between southern part of India and towards Aurangabad, Shirdi and Pune among others.
To achieve “Mission Electrification”, the electrification of the railway lines is being done on a war footing basis to complete 100 per cent electrification of the SCR network. Electrification of railway lines will pave the way for environment friendly means of transportation by replacing diesel traction with electric traction. It also helps in seamless movement of freight and passenger traffic, besides reducing the enroute detentions. The fuel expenditure will be drastically reduced by reducing diesel consumption.
SCR General Manager Arun Kumar Jain complimented the officials of the electrical wing of both headquarters and Secunderabad Division for completing the entire Vikarabad- Parli electrification project within the stipulated time.
