5-day Goa Budget Session to commence on Monday

Panaji: The five-day Budget Session of the Goa Assembly will begin on March 27 and conclude on March 31.
Last year, soon after the swearing in of his government for the second time, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant had presented a budget focussing on revival of mining and fostering the economy with no new taxes.
He had presented a budget (expenditure) worth Rs 24,467.40 crore, of which Rs 17,097.50 was revenue expenditure, while Rs 7,369.90 was capital expenditure.
Sawant has said that this year’s budget will be realistic and futuristic, which will focus on areas like education, healthcare, sanitation, tribal welfare and other areas.
“My government has set the target of availing maximum benefit out of Centrally-sponsored schemes. The state will carry out schemes on priority areas like education, healthcare, sanitation, tribal welfare, etc. The Budget will be realistic and futuristic,” Sawant said.

Annual board exams of classes 10th to 12th in hard zones to commence from April-08

Srinagar, Mar 23: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (BOSE) Thursday released date sheets of 10th to 12th standard annual regular exams in hard area zones of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh Union Territories.
According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the exams in the hard zones will commence from April-08.
BOSE has said that exams of vocational subjects for class-10 will commence from April-08 while the exams for core papers will begin from April-10.
The examination of 10th standard in hard zones culminates on May-04 in core subjects and May-09 in other subjects.
Likewise, the examinations of 11th standard in the hard zones commences from April-12 and culminates on May-14,
Similarly, the annual regular board exam of 12th standard in hard zones begins from April-11 and culminates on May-15 respectively.
Pertinently, the BOSE had identified 444 such schools in the both divisions of Jammu and Kashmir for which annual regular examinations will be held in the month of April instead of March.
Besides, the Board has also declared the whole Leh district of Union Territory of Ladakh as a hard zone and has accordingly directed to conduct the exams in the Month of April.

It had also said that the annual regular examination of hard zones or such areas of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh shall be held in the month of April.
“Result of annual regular examination of Kashmir Division and Jammu division and Union territory of Ladakh including hard zones shall be declared simultaneously in the month of June,” BOSE said in a previous notification—(KNO)

New Academic Session To Commence After Annual Board Exams: DSEK

SRINAGAR: The School Education Department Thursday said that the new academic session will commence soon after the culmination of annual regular board examinations.
Talking to reporters on the sidelines of an event, Director School Education Kashmir, Tassaduq Hussain Mir said new academic session will begin soon after the culmination of ongoing exams.
“We are prepared for the new academician session and we have set the timelines too,” he said.
On being asked about transportation fee of those months during which schools were closed, he said private school students are not liable to pay for services they did not avail during those months.
He said earlier the academic session used to end in December but now it has changed to March. “The ongoing session will end after the culmination of annual regular board exams.”
About the violation of government guidelines for charging admission fee by some private schools, Mir said wherever they will get written complaints, they will act tough against the violators. (KNO)

Online registration for Army Agniveer recruitment to commence on Feb 16

Jammu, Feb 15: The Army on Wednesday said that the online registration for Army Agniveer recruitment will commence from February 16 to March 15 2023.
As per a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), all interested candidates desirous to join Army as Agniveer may apply online from the official website of Indian Army – www.joinindianarmy.nic.in only.
The applications are invited from candidates hailing from Udhampur, Rajouri, Poonch, Reasi, Ramban, Doda, Kishtwar, Jammu, Samba and Kathua districts.
All unmarried eligible male and female candidates born between 01 Oct 2002 to 01 Apr 2006 (both dates inclusive) with requisite education qualification can apply for Agniveer (General Duty), Agniveer Tradesmen (8th & 10th pass), Agniveer Clerk, Storekeeper Technical, Agniveer Technical (all arms) and Agniveer General Duty (Women Military Police) categories.
Applications are also invited from eligible male candidates for Soldier Technical (Nursing Assistant/Nursing Assistant Veterinary) and Sepoy Pharma categories.
The candidates are hereby informed that complete procedure for recruitment in Indian Army has now changed from this year.
“The recruitment procedure will now start with an online written exam in a Multiple Choice Questionnaire format at different Centres across the country. The online exams will commence from 17 April onwards. The physical recruitment rally of all successful candidates will take place as earlier. Details of the rally location and date will be announced separately,” the statement said—(KNO)
