    Online Fraud: Man Loses Rs 1.3 Crore While Trying to Earn Money by Liking YouTube Clips

    People are losing millions of rupees after trusting strangers and making internet payments. Various scams have been reported in recent months, despite officials warning people to be cautious before making any kind of online payment.

    In another case, a Mumbai resident was reportedly tricked out of Rs 1.3 crore by fraudsters who claimed to pay for liking YouTube videos. The fraudsters allegedly promised the victim Rs 5,000 to 7,000 every day. The victim, who is 47 years old, works for a marketing firm.

    According to media reports, the cyber frauds enticed the victim by offering large payments for viewing and like YouTube videos, and persuaded her to deposit money into 25 different bank accounts between January and March of this year.

    A cop who is probing the matter said that the complainant had got a WhatsApp message asking him if he was interested in a part time job that could earn him between Rs 5,000 to Rs 7,000 per day. During the conversation, the message sender explained that he would send YouTube videos, and his job would be to watch, like, and screenshot them before sending them to the same WhatsApp number.

    The victim was asked to pay Rs 5,000 as registration and other fees. He then received a link of a YouTube video and followed instructions. He also received Rs 10,000 in his account. The victim was then requested to join a Telegram channel, and the accused promised him that he would be assigned various jobs that would earn him a large sum of money. The complaint was persuaded and joined the Telegram group.

    “He was asked to put money down as an investment and was given various tasks to complete. The accused told him he’d make a lot of money once he finished the tasks,” the police stated.

     

    It was only when that the complainant demanded return of his invested money and profit he got to know that he has been duped. The fraudster claimed that he had not done his job properly and demanded more money. This is when the complainant lodged an FIR.

    Cops said that the complainant had sent money in 25 different bank accounts. The accounts were opened in the name of fake companies. Further investigation into the incident is underway.

    Delhi HC orders social media platforms to take down leaked clips of SRK’s ‘Jawan’

    New Delhi: After clips of the upcoming Shah Rukh Khan-starrer movie ‘Jawan’ got leaked, the Delhi High Court on Tuesday directed social media platforms, ‘shady’ websites, cable TV outlets, direct-to-home services, and various other platforms to remove the leaked clips and stop their circulation as well.

    Red Chillies Entertainment Private Limited, a production house owned by Shah Rukh Khan and his wife Gauri Khan, had filed a lawsuit in the Delhi High Court on this count.

    A Delhi High Court bench headed by Justice C. Hari Shankar on Tuesday directed social media sites like YouTube, Google, Twitter, and Reddit to take action to halt the circulation of the movie’s copyrighted content and ordered a number of internet service providers to prohibit access to websites that were showing or making the movie’s footage available for viewing or downloading.

    Two movie-related video snippets, according to the petitioner, were leaked on social media, one showing Shah Rukh Khan in a fight sequence, and the second showing a dance sequence.

    “It is the plaintiff’s (Red Chillies) case that these leaked video clips are nothing but clear violation of copyright/intellectual property rights of the plaintiff which are are causing damage and loss to the plaintiff. The leaked video clips together give away the look of the actors in the said film, as well as the music, both of which are typically disclosed at strategic points in time as part of the carefully-curated marketing strategy of a film,” the court was told.

    The lawsuit also claimed that specific images from the film’s set, which were shot behind closed doors in a studio, had been leaked by the defendants.

    An apprehension was expressed that the rogue social media handles would further copy, reproduce and distribute the copyright-protected materials and other proprietary information on various platforms, the plea said.

    “The plaintiff reasonably apprehends that such publication and unauthorised circulation of the leaked video clips will jeopardise the promotion and exploitation rights of the plaintiff in the said film, and as and when the said film is released in theatres, similar acts of piracy relating to the entire film would also commence and intermediaries/websites as described would again be utilised to illegally copy, record, download, reproduce, transmit and communicate the said copyright protected work to the general public,” the plea said.

    In the bitter cold weather, relief workers in Turkey and Syria continue to race against time to search tirelessly to rescue survivors under the rubble of thousands of buildings that collapsed in the earthquake that struck at dawn on Monday, February 6, 2023.

    Thousands of video clips have circulated on social media platforms documenting the difficult times of rescue operations and each has revealed a painful story that will not be erased from memory.

    Here are some of the moments

    Turkish channel TRT Haber, published a video clip and wrote, “In Malatya, a small child was rescued from the rubble with the joint work of the fire department and the special operations police. The fireman showed his joy by kissing the boy.”

    The excavator driver Osman succeeded in rescuing his 61-year-old Turkish father, Salman Aydemir, from under the rubble. The old man survived after 47 hours passed under the rubble.

    In a video clip, it shows Othman driving an excavator and trying for hours to remove the rubble that was on top of his father, so that his tears fell after he saw his father get out of the rubble with the help of the rescuers.

    In a video, full of innocence, despite the magnitude and devastation of the earthquake disaster, a Syrian child emerged after spending 40 hours under the rubble with a smile on his face and began to caress those around him.

    At first the child seemed surprised at what was happening, then he began to smile, interact and caress his surroundings to the sound of cheers and takbeers from the rescuers.

    The Syrian Civil Defense, the White Helmets, wrote on its official page on Twitter, “Miracles are repeated and the takbeers embrace the sky again, moments filled with joy with the rescue of the child Karam from among the ruins of a destroyed house in the village of “Armanaz” in Idlib countryside on the first day of the earthquake.”

    Social media users shared a video clip of part of the dialogue between the rescuer and the child, while the rescue operation was taking place from under the rubble of the building in the Syrian town of Jenderes.

    “You and I will go out together.” With these words, a Syrian Civil Defense volunteer tried to reassure a child during his rescue operation from under the rubble of his destroyed house in northern Syria.

    Indeed, the rescuer came out of the gap in which the child was, after the rescue team managed to get him out.

    A video clip circulated on social media platforms, showing a Syrian man injured in the earthquake, who refused to go to the hospital for treatment, and insisted on staying at the rubble of his house until the body of his wife was recovered from under the rubble, northwest of Idlib.

    Syrian journalist Jamil al-Hassan published a video clip that was widely circulated, showing the Syrian husband watching the process of exhuming his wife’s body with tears in his eyes.

    Among these video clips is a video of an elderly man in Syria asking for water for ablution so as not to miss the prayer while he was stuck under the rubble.

    In another viral video, hen rescuers in Syria managed to pull a baby alive from the arms of his deceased father.

    The video shows rescuers pulling the body of a man from the rubble while holding his child. The surprise was when it turned out that the child had survived due to the father’s protection.

    Another video clip of the infant in the town of Jenderes, spread on social media, after a group of men pulled her out of the rubble of a destroyed building.

    A man ran out from behind a yellow bulldozer carrying the baby naked, save for a layer of blood-tinged dust that covered her emaciated body, from which the umbilical cord hung, in the freezing heat.

    The newborn was taken to a clinic in the nearby town of Afrin for treatment while her relatives spent several hours recovering the bodies of her mother, father Abdullah, four brothers and aunt.

    Death toll is rising

    At dawn on Monday, a 7.7-magnitude earthquake hit southern Turkey and northern Syria, followed by another hours later with a magnitude of 7.6 and dozens of aftershocks, leaving huge losses of lives and property in both countries.

    In Turkey, the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority announced earlier that the number of earthquake deaths had risen to more than 16,170, while the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights stated that the death toll from the earthquake in Syria had risen to about 3,600.

    The total number of earthquake victims reached 20,000 dead, and more than 65,000 injured so far, amid aftershocks hitting the region.

    While the World Health Organization (WHO) said it expects the worst, and fears that “the outcome will be eight times higher than the first numbers” published.

    Junagadh taluka police station sources said that Rajbharti committed suicide at his farm in Khadia village by shooting himself with his licensed weapon. The police have registered a case and have begun an investigation.

He has sold the property of Ram bapu, who always believed in social service, whereas Rajbharti believed in business, he has started a real estate business and is having physical relations with many women.

    Video clips in circulation show the sadhu drinking liquor, his sex chats and conversations with women are also in circulation. A photograph of him hugging a woman too is in circulation.
