‘Are Dalits, backward classes beggars’, Bommai tears into Congress

    [ad_1]

Kalaburagi: Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Friday asked state Congress President D.K. Shivakumar does he think “Dalits and backward classes are beggars?”

Reacting to Shivakumar’s statement that Lingayats and Vokkaligas are not beggars, the Chief Minister said during a roadshow in support of the BJP candidate in Sedam, Rajkumar Patil Sedam, that the Congress has the habit of “keeping Dalits inside the well and dropping them in the same place after getting their votes”.

“The Congress leaders never thought that I would become the Chief Minister. Once the new quota was implemented, the Congress leaders got scared. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has spoken very badly about Prime Minister Narendra Modi, but the latter has swallowed all the criticisms and become ‘Nanjunda’ (another name for lord Shiva).”

    MS Education Academy

Bommai’s remark cam a day after Kharge likened Prime Minister Modi to a “poisonous snake”, drawing strong rebuke from the BJP. Kharge later retracted his comment, saying that his remarks were not aimed at the Prime Minister, but at his party.

At the roadshow, Bommai said that the BJP government will retain power in the state after the May 10 Assembly elections.

“The Congress is scared because the BJP will retain power in Karnataka. That is why its leaders are commenting against Prime Minister Modi out of frustration,” Bommai said.

Telangana private colleges begin classes despite holiday order

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: Despite clear orders from the government, the corporate and private government is continuing to be arbitrary, as a result of which the students are facing difficulties. The Telangana Board of Intermediate Education has declared summer vacations for junior colleges till June 1, but many private and corporate colleges are organizing classes despite the holidays.

These colleges have started classes a week after the end of the inter examinations and students are being put to attend. Almost all corporate colleges in the city started classes for second year students claiming that classes are being organized for better results so that students can prepare better for the second year.

These colleges are also conducting classes for competitive examinations. Parents of the students have complained that the children were being forced to attend second-year classes and the purpose of holding classes during the summer holidays is to prevent students from approaching other colleges. It was decided to retain the first-year students in the second year.

    MS Education Academy

Many of the lecturers are engaged in examination paper evaluation, but despite this, classes are being organized.

No action has been taken against any college by the board so far, which has boosted the morale of the management. According to the board of intermediate’s academic calendar, the first and second year education will start on June 1. Junior college’s summer vacations started on April 1 and will continue till May 31. Post that, the Dasara holidays would be between October 19 and October 25.

The board has planned 227 working days and 77 vacation/off days. Junior colleges were mandated to have at least 220 working days in the next academic year.

Half-yearly examinations would be a month later in November from 20 to 25 and the Sankranti holidays between January 13, 2024, and January 16.

The officials further clarified that advanced supplementary for this year would be held in the last week of May.

Google to cut free snacks, workout classes for employees: Report

    [ad_1]

New Delhi: Amid layoffs over recession fears, tech giant Google is also creating several cost-cutting measures such as cutting down on free snacks and workout classes for its existing employees, the media reported.

In a memo, sent by Chief Financial Officer Ruth Porat, Google employees were notified that the perks will vary based on the office location needs, and trends seen in each office space, Business Insider reported.

The company’s micro kitchen that provides free snacks like cereal, espresso, and seltzer water will be closed on days that typically have a significantly lower volume.

    MS Education Academy

Some of the fitness class schedules will be shifted depending on how they’re being used.

The company would also discontinue spending on personal equipment like laptops, according to the memo.

It noted that funds will be utilised on work that is of a higher priority.

“Because equipment is a significant expense for a company of our size, we’ll be able to save meaningfully here,” Porat wrote in the memo, released by Business Insider.

She added that the company will reduce its hiring pace and reallocate teams to focus on higher-priority work.
Google also recently told employees that some workers would have to share desk space, amid plans to downsize some of its offices.

On January 20, Google CEO Sundar Pichai had confirmed in a letter to employees that about 12,000 people will be laid off globally, accounting for more than 6 per cent of the total workforce.

Last month, the tech giant informed its employees via an email that fewer of them will be promoted to more senior levels this year as compared to the past.

It reportedly also indicated to ex-employees who were laid off while on maternity or medical leave that they will not be paid for the remainder of their time off.

Rahul Gandhi penalised for insulting backward classes: Sushil Modi

    [ad_1]

Patna: BJP Rajya Sabha MP Sushil Kumar Modi claimed that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is penalised as he insulted the people from backward classes and the BJP has nothing to do with it.

“The court has convicted him for insulting people who have Modi surname. He has insulted the backward class people and the court has given him punishment. BJP has nothing to do with it,” he said.

“Congress has a number of prominent lawyers. Why they did not put their arguments strongly. I personally believe that there is a conspiracy going on within the Congress party to eliminate Rahul Gandhi,” he said.

“I have also filed a criminal defamation case against Rahul Gandhi in a lower court of Patna and its hearing is scheduled in the month of April this year,” Sushil Modi said.

“The way actions were taken against Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav, Nitish Kumar is highly pleased with it. After the conviction of Rahul Gandhi, Nitish Kumar’s mission to present himself as PM candidate in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections have gained strength. After the action on Tejashwi Yadav by central agencies, the pressure from Nitish Kumar has released… He is enjoying the moment. His party leaders giving statements to support these two leaders is merely a show-off,” the BJP leader added.
