    South Central Railways achieves electrification of 1017 Rkms in FY 2022-23

    Hyderabad: South Central Railway has achieved its best-ever performance in electrification. The zone has completed 1017 Route Kilometres (RKM) of railway electrification works from FY 2022 to 2023, which is all-time record in the history of the zone. This achievement is also the second-highest RKM of electrification done by any zone across Indian Railways during these years.

    The state-wise details of the electrification completed in the zone during 2022-23 are as follows:

    Indian Railways has accorded special focus to the electrification of its network. Out of the total electrification of 1017 Rkms, 286.4 Rkms fall under Telangana, 133.7 Rkms under Andhra Pradesh, 546 Rkms under Maharashtra and 50.8 Rkms pertain to Karnataka jurisdiction of SCR.

    The Telangana region of SCR pertaining to 26.4 Rkms comprises sections like Bhavanapalem, Samupalli, Manoharabad and Nizamabad, and 133.7 Rkms equals the Andhra Pradesh region of SCR comprises sections like Dharmavara Kadin, Aravalli Nidadavoln, New Piduguralla Savalyapuram.

    Similarly, 546 Rkms pertaining to the Maharashtra region of SCR comprises sections like Washim Parna, Kanaloagar Park Ambari-Madkhed and Rotegaon Dinegaon Parli – Parbhani.

    Additionally, SCR is observing Electrical Safety Week from the third to the ninth of May to promote electrical safety aspects and save electrical energy.

    The seminar will be held at the divisional level, special training classes are also being conducted for the electric supervisors and staff to create awareness regarding electricity rules.

    Hyderabad: The Bharat Rashtra Samithi’s (BRS) central office in Delhi’s Vasant Vihar is set for inauguration today at 1 pm by Telangana chief minister and party president K Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR).

    Built in the most magnificent manner as per ‘Vastu Sastra’ standards, the four-storied BRS building, work on which began last year as part of its national expansion and activities in the centre of Delhi, will be launched by BRS supremo KCR.

    With the launch of the BRS’s central office, which is floated with the aim of ‘comprehensive development of the country and bringing farmers’ rule into the country’, the expansion of the party will be accelerated.

    On the occasion of the inauguration, KCR will enter the office while all the rituals simultaneously being performed beside special pujas.

    Roads and buildings minister Prashanth Reddy and Rajya Sabha MP Joginapalli Santosh Kumar are constantly monitoring the works related to the construction of BRS Bhavan in Delhi and are overseeing the inauguration activities.

    The BRS Bhavan with flour floors is built on an area of 11,000 square feet. The lower ground will have a media hall and servant quarters. A canteen, reception lobby and 4 chambers for general secretaries are built on the ground floor while. BRS national President KCR’s chamber, other chambers and conference halls are established on the first floor.

    A total of 20 rooms are available on the second and second floors, including the president’s suite, the working president’s suite and the remaining 18 other rooms.

    Afghanistan's central bank sells USD 14 million to keep local currency stable

    Kabul: Afghanistan’s central bank Da Afghanistan Bank (DAB) sold $14 million by auction on Sunday to stabilise the exchange rate of the national currency afghani, the bank said in a statement released here on Sunday.

    The local currency afghani has been tumbling against foreign currencies, especially the US dollar, over the past couple of months. The exchange rate of 1 US dollar increased from last week’s 86 afghani to 87.15 afghani on Sunday, Xinhua news agency reported.

    Afghanistan’s central bank has injected millions of US dollars into the country’s money-exchange market over the past month to prevent the fall of the afghani against foreign currencies.

    Afghanistan has received more than 2 billion dollars in cash over the past 18 months as part of the international community’s humanitarian aid to prevent the economic collapse of the cash-strapped country.

    SRINAGAR: A body of non-local man was found at Batamallo area of Central Kashmir’s Srinagar district on Saturday afternoon.

    A 40-year-old non local identified as Rakesh Kumar resident of Katra was found unconscious in a road at Batamallo.

    He was shifted to SMHS hospital where doctors declared them brought dead.
