    SRINAGAR: Sara Ali Khan, the popular Bollywood actress, recently embarked on a trip to the highlands of Kashmir with her mother, Amrita Singh, after wrapping up shooting for her upcoming film, Ae Watan Mere Watan. The actress shared several photos from her journey on Instagram, where she was also accompanied by her friends.

    In the first shot, Sara donned a saffron jumper and a woolly hat, posing for a selfie with the night sky and the moon in the backdrop while pouting. The next photo showed her sitting outside in comfortable clothing, closing her eyes and leaning on her companion, who stood behind her.

    The following shot showed Sara dressed differently, hugging her pal. In the last photo, Sara, her friends, and Amrita Singh sat around an indoor fireplace. Sara, donning a saffron jumper and beige trousers, gazed at the fire with her hands close to it, while Amrita, dressed in all black, sat behind her daughter.

    Sara spent her time in the pool with one of her pals, writer Jehan Handa. Both of them were engaged in a conversation in the candid photograph. The star also shared a solo photo of her in the pool. Sara sat in a garden, enjoying the sun, wearing a shawl over her olive-colored jumper and grey trousers in one of the photos. The actress also wore a woolly hat while posing with her face up and her eyes closed.

    Sara and her pals stood for the camera outside in the dusk in the last photo. As she smiled for the camera, she was dressed in a white jacket, beige trousers, a woollen cap and shoes. “Hello Full Moon Phase, Snow clad Mountains with Sunny Rays, Sitting by the Fire enjoying the Flame, the Haze,” Sara captioned the image. The nights are pleasant, and the days are sun-kissed, so it’s time to hear what Sara says.” She also mentioned Purnima and the full moon.

    Sara posted one of the photos with her pals on Instagram Stories and tagged her. She labelled the site Jannat-e-Kashmir. Sara also used the background music from her debut film Kedarnath, Qaafirana. The original song was included in the 2018 film Sara with the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput.

    Sara Ali Khan seemed to have fallen in love with Kashmir ever since she found it. She is a frequent traveller to Kashmir; she was here in 2021 and 2022 also for different projects. Her love for Kashmir can be seen through her Instagram posts.

    Sara Khan explains the mesmerising beauty she has fallen in love with through her frequent visits to Kashmir. As a result, she is gradually emerging as a brand spokesperson for Kashmir with no additional expense.

    SRINAGAR: Wildlife authorities on Monday captured a leopard after it attacked and injured a man in Poonch district.

    Official said that Zafar Iqbal son of Mohammad Sadiq Gujjar, a resident of Marha village in Surankote, was attacked by the leopard in the wee hours in the area. The people nearby made hue and cry which made the animal run away and left the person seriously injured, the said.

    The locals brought the injured person immediately to SDH Surankote for treatment. After giving first aid, they said, the injured was referred to District Hospital Rajouri for further treatment.

    Later, Wild Life Team Surankote Headed by Ranger Officer Wildlife Idress Khan along with team rushed to the spot and captured the leopard.

    Mushtaq H. Choudhary, Wildlife Warden Rajouri-Poonch, said the animal has been shifted to veterniary hospital Rajouri. (GNS)

    SRINAGAR: A leopard was captured alive during late last night by the officials of Wildlife Department in Kralpora area of Chadoora in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

    Quoting an official, KNO reported  that the leopard was spotted near Kralpora by locals who informed the officials.

    He said soon after getting information, traps were set up and leopard was captured alive

    The official said it will be taken to a safe location and will be set free.

    Poonch, Apr 9: An intruder was killed and two others were apprehended as army said to have foiled an infiltration bid on intervening Saturday and Sunday night along Line of Control in Poonch district.

    “On 08 April 2023 at approx 2215 hours, own alert troops deployed on the Line of Control in the Poonch Sector observed a suspicious movement of a group (three individuals) close to the Line of Control and at around midnight the group, crossed the Line of Control and started infiltrating on to own side”, a spokesperson of defence ministry based in Jammu said in a statement to GNS.

    “Own alert troops kept the movement of the infiltrating group under continuous observation and approximately at 0200 hours as the group approached the fence, the alert Indian Army troops deployed on the fence challenged the infiltrators”, the statement reads.

    “The intruders started to run away, were engaged by fire, in which one intruder was shot dead, while the other two managed to run into the jungle taking advantage of the thick foliage and rocky outcrop. The area was immediately cordoned to prevent their escape across the Line of Control.”

    The search operation, as per the statement, was launched at first light wherein the dead body of one intruder was recovered at the encounter site. “As the search progressed in the jungle, one intruder was apprehended alive in wounded condition. In the subsequent search the third intruder was also apprehended alive.”

    “In the search operation so far three bags with fourteen packets of Narcotics weighing approx 17 kgs, Pakistan currency, some documents, and eatables have been recovered.”

    “During preliminary questioning the two intruders who have been apprehended alive, have claimed that they (all three) are residents of Pakistan Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (POJK) and belong to Maidan Mohalla, village Chanjal”, reads the statement.

    “Indian Army troops have by their quick action thus prevented a major infiltration bid of a narco-terror group which had the potential of disturbing the peace in Poonch & Rajouri Districts through its nefarious designs”, reads the statement adding the Indian Army continues to remain alert on the Line of Control and is fully prepared to thwart any such attempts in the future too.     Bahraich: A leopard, which injured five villagers on Thursday in Katarniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary, was captured by experts in an operation that lasted five hours, an official from the forest department said.

    After a health checkup of the leopard, it has been released in the Trans Gerua area of the Katarniaghat forest.

    According to the villagers, a leopard attacked Rita Devi (35) and seriously injured her on Thursday morning in Chahalwa village under the Katarniya Range of the sanctuary.

    When Rita raised an alarm, the villagers rushed to chase the wild cat away but instead of running away, it attacked them, injuring Sanjay, Lal Bahadur, Sahdev and Santosh.

    As more people gathered, the leopard entered the house of a villager and Laxman and hid under a bed.

    “A Leopard strayed out in Chahalwa village and injured 5 people. It has been successfully rescued after a five-hour-long rescue operation resulting in no human casualty and no animal casualty,” Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Akashdeep Badhawan told PTI.

    “The animal was taken to the Katarniaghat range campus and a health examination has been done. It has been released in the Trans Gerua forest,” he said.

    All those injured are being treated in the nearest government hospital, the DFO added.

    Earlier this week another attack was reported in which three villagers, including a woman, were injured by a leopard in another area of the sanctuary.

    SRINAGAR: A leopard was captured alive in Chanderhama village of Pattan in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Friday, officials said here.

    Quoting an official the news agency KNO reported that the leopard was captured after Wildlife Department received a call about its presence in an area.

    He said the leopard was roaming in residential area posing threat to lives of people and their livestock.

    “However, soon after getting the information it was captured without causing any damage or injury to anyone,” he said.

    The Leopard will be taken to a safe location and will be set free, the report quoted the official as having said.

    Ghaziabad: A leopard that entered the premises of a Ghaziabad court on Wednesday, and attacked three persons including a lawyer, a cobbler and police constable near the old building complex, has been captured, officials said.

    A 12-member team of the Forest Department along with the police personnel were engaged in a 4-hour-long operation to capture the leopard.

    Nets were strategically placed in several points to capture the big cat. The leopard was also administered tranquilizer.

    A huge crowd of people, including the court staff and lawyers, was witnessed outside the court, which was sealed while the operation to capture and rescue the leopard was underway.

    The Forest Department team had brought nets and cages to trap the leopard.

    Earlier, the cobbler was admitted to a hospital after he sustained critical injuries. Several people were also injured in the commotion.

    All the rooms of the old building were evacuated as soon as news of the leopard entering the premises spread.

    A video of the incident has surfaced, where three lawyers are seen patrolling the building with sticks to catch the leopard.

    One of them was filming the video when the big cat suddenly attacked them, injuring one lawyer.

    The main building was eventually cordoned off.

    According to eyewitnesses, the leopard was first seen under the stairs in the CJM court building.

    SRINAGAR: A Leopard cub was captured in Tangchatter area of Kangan in central Kashmir’s Gandarbal district by the Wildlife Department on Monday morning, officials said here.

    Quoting an official the news agency KNO reported that the cub was captured after the department received information about it’s presence in the area.

    He said it was roaming in the residential areas, thereby posing a danger to people and their livestock.

    The official said soon after getting the information, it was captured and was subsequently released in Dachigam zoo.
