Responding to BRS leader Jagan Patimeedi’s post claiming the same, Telangana minister KT Rama Rao said that just to malign the state government, the BJP seems to have hatched a ‘conspiracy’. He asked the state DGP to investigate this matter thoroughly.

“Even by the very low standards of BJP, this is vulgarity at its worst Just to malign Telangana Govt, BJP seems to have hatched a conspiracy to destroy the lives of innocent youth I request the @TelanganaDGP Garu to enquire this matter thoroughly and bring perpetrators to justice,” he tweeted.

Raja Sekhar worked as a network administrator at TSPSC.

Praveen, who works at TSPSC, contacted Raja Sekhar for the question paper of the Assistant Engineer (Civil) and both of them allegedly managed to get the paper from the confidential section of the TSPSC by hacking into a computer of the section officer in charge of custody of the question paper.

They allegedly transferred the 25 papers into a pen drive from the computer and later handed it over to Renuka and her husband Dhakya, who paid them Rs 5 lakh initially on March 2 and another Rs 5 lakh on March 6. Dhakya on getting the papers informed about it Rajeshwar Nayak, his relative who tried to make money, contacted Neelesh and Gopal, who were appearing for the exam, and discussed the possibility of striking a deal for the leaked exam question paper.

‘Time for Demoditisation’: BRS poster reminds people of demonetisation

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) in a continuation of its poster war against the BJP, has now put up a poster reminding the country of the Centre’s decision to demonetize currency in 2016.

“Government of India agreed that demonetisation is a failure. It’s now time for Demoditisation,” the poster read.

BRS working president and minister KT Rama Rao tweeted on Tuesday on the subject and called it the ‘most unwise decision’ of Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led central government.

The current poster comes in line of several posters that the BRS has put up criticising and mocking the BJP.

On November 8, 2016, the Government of India announced the demonetization of all Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 banknotes. In exchange for the demonetized banknotes, it also announced the issuance of new 500 and 2,000 banknotes. The Prime Minister claimed that the action will reduce the shadow economy, increase cashless transactions, and reduce the use of illicit and counterfeit cash to fund illegal activity and terrorism.

The announcement of demonetisation was followed by weeks of prolonged cash shortages, causing significant disruption throughout the economy. People who wanted to exchange their banknotes had to wait in long lines, and several deaths have been linked to the rush to exchange cash.

Except for those considered partisan, most economists across the ideological spectrum were broadly critical of demonetisation as an economic policy.

Cong, BRS, AAP move suspension of business notice in RS on Hindenburg-Adani row

    [ad_1]

New Delhi: Members of Congress, Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) and AAP on Tuesday moved suspension of business notice in the Rajya Sabha under rule 267 demanding a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) probe into the Hindenburg-Adani row.

Congress Deputy leader in the House Pramod Tiwari, AAP MP Sanjay Singh, and BRS MP K. Keshav Rao moved suspension notice on the issue.

On Monday, the Congress alleged that the government did not want Parliament to function.

“Parliament was adjourned for the day because the Government simply didn’t want it to function. It created a completely bogus diversion to keep the attention away from the combined Opposition demand for a JPC into the PM-linked Adani Maha Mega Scam,” Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh had said.

Earlier in the day, the Opposition members had staged a march towards Vijay Chowk and Congress president and Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge said that there is no rule of law under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

BRS, AAP demand JPC on ‘Adani scam’; stage protest outside Parliament

Hyderabad: Members of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) along with Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) staged protests outside the Parliament demanding discussion on the Hindenburg’s report on the Adani scam.

The Opposition parties demanded a joint parliamentary committee (JPC) on the Hindenburg report and staged a protest after receiving no response from the Chair in both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.

BRS moved a suspension motion in both Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha to discuss the misuse of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Enforcement Directorate (ED) by the BJP-led union government.

Both the houses were adjourned till 2 pm following the protest.

They held placards inside the House and later walked out and held a demonstration at the statue of Mahatma Gandhi inside the Parliament complex.

While AAP leader Manish Sisodia was arrested by the CBI and later by the ED in connection with the Delhi excise policy case, the ED had recently recorded the statement of BRS MLC K Kavitha in the same case and asked her to appear again on March 16.

  • ‘Should be put on hold’, SC on CBI probe into BRS MLAs poaching case

‘Should be put on hold’, SC on CBI probe into BRS MLAs poaching case

    [ad_1]

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Monday said the CBI should put on hold its investigation into the alleged criminal conspiracy behind an attempt to poach BRS MLAs allegedly by the BJP while hearing an appeal filed by the Telangana Police against the high court order in the matter.

A bench comprising Justices Sanjiv Khanna and M.M. Sundresh orally observed that the CBI should not proceed with the matter, while listing the case for further hearing in July.

Senior advocate Dushyant Dave, appearing for the Telangana Police, vehemently opposed the transfer of probe to the CBI. The top court was informed that the case materials have not been handed over to the central agency so far. The bench said it is making it very clear that the CBI probe should not be continued while the matter is sub-judice.

Earlier, Dave had argued that the consequences of transferring the case to CBI, which was allegedly under the Centre’s control, would be serious. He had submitted that it would go to the heart of democracy.

A division bench of the Telangana High Court on February 6 upheld the earlier order of a single judge on December 26, 2022 transferring the case to the CBI. The Telangana Police had moved the apex court challenging this order.

The plea argued that the high court did not appreciate that the CBI directly works under the Centre and is under the control of the office of the Prime Minister and the Home Ministry. The state government alleged the involvement of some top BJP leaders to poach its four MLAs, was an attempt to topple the government.

The plea said: “The Bharatiya Janata Party is in power in the Central Government and the allegations in the FIR are squarely and directly against the said party adopting illegal and criminal steps and methods to destabilize the Government of Telangana, the Hon’ble High Court therefore could not have entrusted the investigation to CBI in any case.”

The plea further added, “The High Court has unnecessarily drawn the conclusion that release of the CD by the Chief Minister on 03.11.2022 amounted to interference with the investigation and therefore concluded that investigation was not fair and violated the rights of accused for fair investigation.”

Three persons Ramachandra Bharati alias Satish Sharma, Nandu Kumar and Simhayaji Swamy, named as accused have already been granted bail.

According to the FIR, MLA Rohith Reddy alleged that the accused in October last year, offered him Rs 100 crore and in return the legislator had to leave the BRS.

It was also alleged that they asked Reddy to bring some more BRS MLAs by offering Rs 50 crore each to join the BJP.

In November last year, the state government had formed an SIT, comprising state police officers to investigate the matter.

Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president and state IT minister KT Rama Rao on Sunday directed the party members to ensure that the BRS flag is hoisted in all constituencies on the party’s foundation day.

“The party flags should be unveiled in all constituencies and meetings have to be held throughout the day on the party foundation day, on April 25,” KTR said at tele-conference with the party’s district presidents and general secretaries.

KTR instructed the BRS members to inaugurate the district party offices by April 25. “Aathmeeya Sammelan programs should be held in each town and all towns should be covered two months before the party foundation day,” said KT Rama Rao.
