BRS may deny ticket to tainted MLAs in Telangana

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad:  Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has hinted at denying tickets to MLAs who are facing serious allegations and cases. According to reliable sources, the chief minister reviewed various survey reports on the prospects of the BRS in the upcoming assembly elections.

Survey reports showed that several BRS MLAs are facing serious charges and cases. The party’s image has been badly affected due to issues like corruption and sexual harassment and people are not ready to re-elect them.

The survey report suggested that more than 30 MLAs who are facing allegations should be given four months to improve their performance and gain public popularity. Chief Minister KCR is learnt to have directed to prepare a list of all such MLAs.

In the Adilabad district alone, three BRS MLAs are facing serious charges. These members have been elected to the assembly more than once and are demanding inclusion in the cabinet. MLAs Ajmera Rekha Naik (Khanapur), Baburao Rathod (Booth) and DurgamChinnaiah of Bellampalliare facing charges of corruption, land grabbing and receiving funds from beneficiaries of government schemes.

Chief Minister KCR and Information Technology Minister KT Rama Rao have sought a report from the district ministers about them. Durgam Chinnaiah has been in the media recently for sexually harassing a female office-bearer. It is said that funds were received from the beneficiaries in connection with the allotment of double bedroom houses, besides Rs 2 lakh for the Dalit Bandhu Scheme.

In the 2018 assembly election, KCR manage to bag 88 of the 119 seats, however, this time it does not appear the BRS can manage an equally impressive performance in 2023. Apart from the pioneering Rythu Bandhu investment support scheme and Rythu Bima insurance cover for farmers, a large investments in agriculture and irrigation have helped transform the rural landscape.

BRS demands disqualification of Bandi Sanjay from Parliament

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) on Wednesday demanded disqualification of Karimnagar Lok Sabha MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar following his arrest in 10th class paper leak case.

State ministers and other BRS leaders said Lok Sabha Speaker should take immediate action and disqualify Sanjay for committing an offence of a grave nature.

Sanjay, who is also President of BJP’s Telangana unit, was arrested by the police in Karimnagar after midnight. He will be produced in a court in Warangal later in the day.

Sate finance minister T. Harish Rao said they were requesting Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla to disqualify Sanjay.

Harish Rao described Sanjay as the mastermind in leakage of Hindi question paper of Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and claimed that he has been caught red-handed.

He alleged that, unable to fight BRS politically, the BJP leader was playing with the future of children. “BJP’s politics has touched a new low. They can stoop to any level for political gains,” he said.

Harish Rao said that Prashanth who was arrested for question paper leak in Warangal on Tuesday is a BJP worker and he had sent the paper to Bandi Sanjay while the examination was still on. “This was a conspiracy to defame the government but he has been caught red-handed,” said the minister.

He pointed out that on Tuesday afternoon BJP leaders in Warangal staged a protest demanding arrests in the paper leak case but in the evening they demanded release of the accused in the case.

The minister said the accused called Bandi Sanjay several times on his mobile shared the leaked question paper widely on social media to defame the government.

The finance minister alleged that Bandi Sanjay was also behind the leakage of a Telugu question paper in Tandur on Monday. He said that the teacher who took a photo of the question paper at the exam centre and shared it on WhatsApp was a leader of the teachers’ union backed by the BJP.

Ministers Srinivas Goud, P. Ajay Kumar, several BRS MLAs and other leaders also addressed separate news conferences to demand disqualification of Sanjay from Parliament. They also demanded stringent action against him for the paper leak.

Minister K.T. Rama Rao alleged that BJP leaders were playing with the lives of innocent students and unemployed by leaking question papers for their selfish politics.

“If a madman has a stone in his hand, there is danger to passersby but if a party is in the hands of the same madman, it is a danger to democracy,” tweeted KTR, who is also working president of BRS.

  • BRS to resist privatisation of Vizag Steel Plant; KTR writes to Centre

BRS to resist privatisation of Vizag Steel Plant; KTR writes to Centre

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao on Sunday reiterated the party’s support to Vizag Steel Plant workers saying that the BRS would oppose the Central Government’s move to privatise the steel plant.

In an open letter to the Union Government, KTR said that the Narendra Modi government’s “evil plans” to sell off the VSP to private players, the reasons for the steel plant’s losses, and ways in which the plant could be revived.

“As part of the conspiracy to privatize the steel plant, VSP will be pushed into losses and the crisis will be shown as an excuse to hand it over to crony corporate companies. The central government did not allow the special iron ore mines to the steel plant. Due to this, the steel plant is forced to spend up to 60 per cent of its production cost on raw material,” he added.

    MS Education Academy

He further said that on the other hand, the cost of raw materials in private companies’ production is less than 40 per cent as iron ore, coal and other mines were allotted to them.

BRS’s working president further said that VSP, which is forced to spend huge amounts on raw materials, is facing challenges as it is competing with private corporate companies in the market in terms of production.
It is facing losses as the enterprise has to sell at the same price as them in the market.

Minister KTR said that the enterprise is in distress as coking coal has to be imported, and iron raw materials needed for steel production are being bought at the market rate from NMDC.

“Due to this, more than 50 per cent of production had to be stopped for a year. All of this is part of a conspiracy to push the Vizag Steel Plant into losses and use it as an excuse to privatize the steel plant. PM Modi has written off loans worth Rs 12.5 lakh crores for his corporate friends. Why is he not showing the same generosity on the Vizag steel plant?” KTR questioned.

Stating that an Expression of Interest (EoI) notification was issued in the garb of mobilizing funds for working capital and raw materials, KTR said that the Modi government was indirectly attempting to hand over the PSU to private entities through the notification. Minister demanded that the centre should immediately cancel the EoI notification.

The minister in his letter laid out a detailed plan to revive the PSU.
He said that Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) has already announced its expansion plans with a cost of around Rs 1 lakh crore.

He also said that the company can be merged with the Vizag Steel Plant, which has several advantages when compared to selling the steel plant to private companies at a low price.

“This will contribute towards SAIL’s expansion goals. If the company moves in this direction, then an ecosystem can be created to fulfil a long-standing demand for a steel factory in Bayyaram, Telangana and a steel plant in Kadapa,” KTR further said.

Stating that VSP is not able to operate at its full capacity of 7.3 MTPA as the central government is not providing raw materials and capital, BRS Working President said that the enterprise which is working at 50 per cent of the capacity is incurring the same production cost it incurs for working at 100 per cent capacity.

He also said that if the centre extends support, the enterprise can work at full capacity which will help it in generating profits.

Speaking at the Athmeeya Sammelan held at Adikmet in Musheerabad constituency on Sunday, Daosju said, “It is extremely unfortunate that we have a Prime Minister who lies in case of every important issue. PM Modi lies about his educational qualification, sheds fake tears before every election that his life is in danger. Never have we seen such a compulsive liar in the political history of India”.

“He has cheated people on Rs 15 lakh every home promise, brought in disastrous demonetisation, looting people by increasing petrol, diesel, LPG prices and protecting his friend Adani. People should put an end to the atrocious rule of PM Modi,” he alleged.

Dasoju further said, “No other state can come even remotely close to Telangana. In fact all BJP-ruled states are lagging behind the state in welfare, development, Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth, agriculture production and other areas”.

He said that it was the responsibility of every Telangana citizen to stop the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

He said that people of Musheerabad are politically aware and progressive. “It is heartening that Musheerabad people have stood by KCR during the Telangana movement. Telangana: Sharmila invites other parties to join hands against BRS

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: Yuvajana Sramika Rythu (YSR) Telangana party chief Y S Sharmila on Sunday said that there is a historic necessity to set aside political differences and demand justice from the insincere and insensitive KCR-led state government that failed to release job notifications in the last nine years.

Sharmila wrote to opposition party leaders of Telangana requesting for a joint fight against the government for the sake of the unemployed youth.

The letters were addressed to Revanth Reddy (Congress), Bandi Sanjay Kumar (BJP), Kasani Gnaneshwar (TDP), Kodandaram (Telangana Jana Samithi), Manda Krishna Madiga (Mahajana Socialist Party), Tammineni Veerabhadram (Communist Party of India (Marxist)), Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao (Communist Party of India), Shanker Goud (Janasena), and Asaduddin Owaisi (AIMIM).

    MS Education Academy

In her letter, she said, “Your party’s fight against KCR government’s attitude towards the unemployed is commendable. Added to his failures is the TSPSC paper leakage scam that has derailed the hopes of the youth who were waiting for the notification for ages.”

“Your fight in this direction has been crucial and we always extend our solidarity. While we do this, we also feel the time has come where we all join together and form a Joint Action Committee to wage an intense battle against the BRS rule,” said Sharmila.

She said that while the opposition parties were fighting individually so far, starting now the parties must join hands for the future of the state and its youth.

“From Biswal Committee’s recommendation to fill up 1.91 lakh vacancies, to ensuring fair investigation in the TSPSC paper leak, together we have to put pressure for the sake of the youth whose sacrifices had paved the way for the formation of Telangana,” she wrote in her letter.

BRS leaders continue to poke fun at PM over his degrees

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leaders continued to poke fun at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his degrees.

After BRS working President K.T. Rama Rao offered to furnish his degrees to take a dig at the PM, his sister and member of Telangana Legislative Council, K. Kavitha on Sunday remarked that in India people with real degrees get no job but a person with no degree has the top job.

Kavitha, daughter of BRS President and Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, made the remark while reacting to the high unemployment rate.

    MS Education Academy

“Unemployment rate is at 7.8 per cent, a 3-month high! But is there any concern or effort to utilise the potential of young people? The fact of the matter in today’s India is that – people with real degrees get no job and a person with no degree has the top job,” she tweeted.

Earlier, K.T. Rama Rao had mocked the Prime Minister by offering to show his degrees.

“I have a Masters Degree in Biotechnology from Pune University, also have a Masters Degree in Business Administration from City University of New York, can share both certificates publicly… just saying,” KTR had tweeted on Friday after Gujarat High Court ruled that the Prime Minister’s Office need not furnish the degree and postgraduate degree certificate of Prime Minister Modi.

The court had set aside the order of the Chief Information Commission (CIC) directing the Public Information Officer (PIO) of PMO and PIOs of Gujarat University and Delhi University to furnish details of Modi’s graduate and postgraduate degrees.

Meanwhile, Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra reacted to KTR’s tweet. “What? Just one MBA? Get one more please -Farzikant style!,” she wrote.

“Yeah, sadly No Masters Degree in Fakery or Phekugiri from Gujarat University,” replied the BRS leader.
