Mayawati asks Telangana’s people to oust BRS, declares BSP’s CM face

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader Mayawati on Sunday announced that party’s Telangana unit President and former IPS officer R.S. Praveen Kumar will be the chief ministerial candidate of the party.

Addressing a public meeting here, she declared that if the BSP is voted to power in Telangana, Praveen Kumar will be the Chief Minister.

She said after taking voluntary retirement from the Indian Police Service (IPS), he had been working with missionary zeal to strengthen the party in Telangana. She hoped that he would take very good care of people like the BSP did in Uttar Pradesh when it was in power.

Mayawati appealed to people to bring her party to power in Telangana in the elections scheduled in next few months and also give the most number of Lok Sabha seats from the state to the BSP in the elections to be held next year.

She said if SCs, STs, OBCs, Muslims and other minorities and other weaker sections want a life of dignity and want to liberate themselves from oppression, they should bring the BSP to power.

Taking a dig at Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao for his call for amending the Constitution, the BSP leader urged people to throw Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) out of power. She said the government which is talking of changing the Constitution drafted by Babasaheb Ambedkar, should be thrown out of power.

Mayawati did not agree that BSP is weakening in Uttar Pradesh. “You may be wondering why the BSP is weakening in Uttar Pradesh but it is not weakening. As long as elections were held with ballot paper, our party grew in popularity but when EVMs were introduced, we lost our votes due to manipulation in EVMs,” she claimed.

The BSP leader also alleged that in states where the BJP is growing strong, conspiracies are being hatched to split the votes of Dalits and weaker sections by floating smaller parties.

Mayawati also took potshots at Chief Minister KCR for trying to copy BSP to promise land for Dalits. “He promised 3 acres of free land but did not implement it,” she said.

She also alleged that for the sake of votes, KCR named the State Secretariat after Babasaheb Ambedkar government building and installed his tallest statue.

She recalled that when Telangana people were fighting for their own state, the BSP was the first party to raise its voice in Parliament in their support and it also supported the Bill brought in Parliament for creation of the state.

Mayawati said that the weaker sections, Dalits, tribals, backward, youth and unemployed in Telangana were hit by irregularities in recruitment. She alleged that the state government is trying to suppress the voice raised against these irregularities.

The BSP leader also questioned the silence of Chief Minister over the release of a convict in the murder of slain Dalit IAS officer G. Krishnaiah.

She was referring to the release ofAformer MP Anand Mohan Singh by the Bihar government.

The gangster-turned-politician, who had instigated the bureaucrat’s lynching in 1994 and was sentenced life imprisonment, was recently released from jail after Bihar government tweaked the rules.

Mayawati said BSP raised its voice against the release of the convict and demanded justice for the family of the slain officer.

  • Domes of new Secretariat modelled on the lines of temple: BRS government

Domes of new Secretariat modelled on the lines of temple: BRS government

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: Amid a row sparked by the comments of Telangana BJP chief Bandi Sanjay, the state government has said that the domes of Telangana State’s new Secretariat building have been modelled on the lines of various temples, including the Hanuman temple in Gujarat’s Sarangapur, officials said.

The domes have been designed and built in the style of Neelakanteswara Swamy Temple temple of the Kakatiya period in Nizamabad, Gopurams and designs of the Rajaprasads of the Wanaparthy Samsthanam (princely state) and the pattern of the Hanuman temple in Sarangapur, Gujarat.

This clarification is significant in the wake of an allegation by the opposition BJP that the new state Secretariat building reflects the culture of Nizams.

    MS Education Academy

State BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar has even threatened to demolish the domes if BJP was voted to power in the upcoming elections.

Sanjay, who is known for making controversial statements, alleged that Chief Minister KCR turned the secretariat into a tomb like the Taj Mahal to please AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi.

“If BJP comes to power, it will destroy the symbols of Nizam’s culture in the state. We will make changes in the state secretariat so that it reflects the Indian and Telangana culture,” he had said.

Sanjay also said on Saturday that if BJP comes to power in Telangana, the administration will not function from the new Secretariat as the building does not reflect Indian culture.

The new Secretariat, which was thrown open on Sunday, has 34 domes which stand out as a special attraction.

According to officials, four types of domes have been built. The ‘A’ type dome is 23.6 feet in diameter, ‘B’ type domes are 31 feet, ‘C’ type are 21.6 feet, and the ‘D’ type domes which are the largest are 54.8 feet in diameter. It is estimated that up to 90 tonnes of iron was used in the construction of these domes.

The main building has two ‘Bahubali’ domes constructed on the lines of Taj Mahal and Gulbarga Gumbaz.

Officials say 34 domes and figures of lions, the national symbol, on two big domes are the crown of the new secretariat. The main domes at a height of 165 feet, are built at the front and rear sides of the secretariat. This is the first time such huge domes have been built in modern structures mainly in government buildings.

Each of the main domes is 82-feet high (about eight stories) and 52-feet in diameter. These are the main attractions of the Secretariat and are located on the east and west sides of the building.

The interior of the main domes is designed in the style of a sky lounge. It offers a view of the surrounding city from its wide windows. The area of these domes is designed as a VIP zone where the chief minister holds important meetings.

BRS party fund touches Rs 1,250 crore, earns Rs 7 cr as monthly bank interest

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has a party fund of Rs 1,250 crore including Rs 767 crore bank deposits which are yielding Rs seven crore per month interest, the party supremo and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has said.

Speaking at the BRS’ Foundation Day on Thursday, Rao said expenses for running the party, construction of party offices in districts and campaigning are met from the interest income.

“The party fund has reached Rs 1,250 crore, out of which Rs 767 crore was deposited in banks. Expenses incurred for running the party, construction of party offices in the districts, campaigning and infrastructure creation are met from this,” he said.

    MS Education Academy

KCR on October 21, 2021 during the plenary had said the party (then TRS) had fixed deposits worth Rs 425 crore which were yielding an interest of Rs two crore per month.

The BRS in its meeting passed a resolution on the financial affairs of the party. As per the resolution, the party president will take care of the financial affairs of the party including opening of bank accounts in other states and setting up of systems for media coordination for the party’s campaign, among others.

The BRS party office in Delhi will be inaugurated on May 4, the party said.

Meanwhile, the party also decided to undertake TV advertisements and film production in future to take the party to the masses across the country and if necessary, the party will also run a TV channel.

KCR told his public representatives that transparency should be maintained in every aspect and advised them not to indulge in corruption under any circumstances.

KCR confident of BRS hat-trick in Telangana with over 100 seats

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) President and Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Thursday exuded confidence that the party will retain power in the state by winning more than 100 seats in 119-member Assembly.

Addressing the general body meeting to mark party’s formation day, he said the BRS would score a hat-trick in the Assembly elections scheduled later this year.

“BRS won 63 seats in the first assembly election and 88 seats in the second assembly election. The BRS party will win more than 100 in the next election,” he said.

    MS Education Academy

“Coming to power again in Telangana is not a big task. The priority is to win more seats than before,” he told the participants including ministers, MPs and state legislators.

KCR said two leaders should also take responsibility from the government in every assembly constituency. He called for connecting with people through programmes like Palle Nidra (Night halt in villages).

He said Zilla Parishad chairpersons, MPs and district in-charges should play the role of in-charges in the assembly constituencies where the BRS legislators are not available. The process should be completed within 3 to 4 months.

The BRS pulled up some MLAs over complaints against them. He warned them that if they didn’t mend their ways, they would be expelled from the party.

He asked the party leaders to take steps to reduce discontent among the cadre. He also wanted them to educate people about the government schemes, interact with them and mingle with them regularly.

The BRS chief said that the party will reach out to masses through producing TV ads and films. He said if necessary, the party will also run a TV channel.

Stating that in some villages, government lands are lying idle, he asked the party leaders to submit the details of such lands with survey numbers to his office. Suitable lands will be distributed to the poor to construct the houses immediately.

KCR recalled the formation of TRS to realise the dream of Telangana people and explained its evolution as a national party BRS to fulfil the aspiration of the people of the country.

“The achievement of Telangana state proved to the country that anything can be achieved in a parliamentary way. Now, we are moving ahead to keep the country on the path of progress with a slogan of Aab Ki Bar Kisan Sarkar,” he said.

Referring to losses suffered by farmers due to untimely reasons, he said the agriculture department should sensitise the farmers to complete harvesting before the unseasonal rains.

He announced that the government will purchase all crops including maize and sorghum like in the past.

KCR said that the state government is implementing an action plan to sustain agriculture and the welfare of farmers.

He listed out the achievements made by Telangana during the last nine years. The CM claimed that investments are flooding the state.

He pointed out that Andhra Pradesh’s per capita income of Rs 2,19,518 is Rs 1,00,000 less than Telangana’s per capita income. The per capita income of 16 to 17 states is much less than this.

The state registered surprising growth in every sector like electricity, roads, paddy procurement, agriculture, livestock, fisheries.

KCR said that Telangana also tops in per capita electricity consumption.

He slammed the Maharashtra government saying it has no vision.

“Maharashtra government says that it will go bankrupt if it implements Telangana schemes. The Telangana state implemented the schemes successfully without going bankrupt,” he said and claimed that people of Maharashtra are visiting Telangana to see the progress of the state.

Revanth slams BJP, BRS over Muslim quota in Telangana

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: Telangana Congress president A Revanth Reddy on Wednesday slammed both the BJP-led centre and the BRS-led state government.

His remarks come after union home minister Amit Shah’s recent remarks in Chevella vowing to scrap the Muslim reservation in Telangana just like how the BJP-led state government did in the state of Karnataka.

“BRS cheated in the name of increasing Muslim reservation to 12 per cent from 4, BJP says they will remove even the existing one. It is the Congress who delivered on the Muslim reservation. Muslim brothers have to decide which side they want to go to,” he said.

    MS Education Academy

Backward Muslims in Telangana enjoy 4 per cent reservation in education and jobs. This was introduced by the Congress government in undivided Andhra Pradesh about 15 years ago.

The state’s incumbent Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS)-led government has promised to increase the Muslim quota to 12 per cent. A resolution to this effect was passed in Telangana Assembly and sent to the Centre five years ago but the proposal has been rejected by the BJP-led government.

Aurangabad: Amid attempts by the Bharat Rashtra Samithi to expand its footprint in Maharashtra, AIMIM Lok Sabha member Imtiaz Jaleel said they are keeping a close watch on the BRS but it is too early to talk about an alliance with them.

Jaleel was speaking after the BRS, led by Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, held its third rally in Maharashtra in Aurangabad on Monday.

“It is too early to say anything about an alliance. One public meeting does not indicate how powerful they are. Let them work and show some results at the ground level. We have to see what response they get in Maharashtra. This question should be asked after a few months,” he said.

  • A vote for BRS is a vote for Congress: Bandi Sanjay

A vote for BRS is a vote for Congress: Bandi Sanjay

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: Amid ongoing efforts by Telangana Chief Minister Bandi Sanjay to rally Opposition forces around the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and against the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre ahead of next year’s Lok Sabha elections, BJP state president Bandi Sanjay on Sunday said “a vote for the BRS would amount to a vote in Congress’s kitty”.

The firebrand BJP state president made the remark at a press conference in state capital Hyderabad on Sunday.

Earlier on Sunday, Sanjay also lashed out at Asaduddin Owaisi-led All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) for speaking in favour of slain gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed.

    MS Education Academy

The jailed gangster and his brother Ashraf, who were accused in the murder of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader Raju Pal, and subsequently, in the killing of a key witness in that case, Umesh Pal, were shot dead in police custody while being brought for a medical in Prayagraj.

The chilling murder in full view of surrounding media crews drew censure from Opposition forces, who voiced concern over the prevailing law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh.

A day after the gangster siblings were sprayed with bullets by three gunmen posing as journalists, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi had said Atiq was the second former MP from the Muslim community to be “murdered with impunity”.

He even compared Atiq’s assailants with Nathuram Godse, the assassin of Mahatma Gandhi.

“People in police custody were killed. Those who killed them are terrorists and are part of a terror module. They might kill more people. Why did they not slam UAPA (Unlawful Activities Prevention Act) on the assailants? Who gave automatic weapons to the killers? Who gave firearms worth Rs 8 lakh to them?” Owaisi had said.

“They were radicalised people, following in the footsteps of Godse. They must be stopped or else they will kill more people,” Owaisi had said.

Coming down hard on the AIMIM chief over his remarks, Sanjay said it was shameful that the leader of the minority outfit spoke in favour of the slain gangster and his son Asad, who was killed earlier in an exchange of fire with a team from the UP STF in Jhansi.

Questioning the silence of the BRS and the Congress in the matter, Sanjay said, “Why haven’t the BRS or the Congress not condemned it (Owaisi’s statement)? Was Atiq Ahmed a patriot? He looted the poor and committed atrocities on them.”

He alleged further that Owaisi’s party nurtures “terrorists”.

Sanjay has stepped up his offensive against the ruling BRS government in Telangana since he was picked up past midnight hours from his residence and arrested on April 4 in connection with the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) paper leak case.

He was granted bail by a magistrate’s court in Warangal on April 6. The court allowed bail on the payment of Rs 20,000 as surety.

KTR’s sarcastic retort to Amit Shah’s ‘countdown’ attack on BRS

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi’s (BRS) working president and state IT minister KT Rama Rao on Sunday challenged Union Minister Home Minister Amit Shah to name one Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led-state government that has fared better than Telangana in the last 9 years.

Amit Shah on Sunday addressed a public meeting titled “Vijay Sankalp Sabha” at Chevella town in Rangareddy district. Shah asked people to “dismiss” the BRS government in the upcoming assembly election that is to be held later in the year.

Taking to Twitter KTR thanked Shah for laying the foundation for various infrastructure development projects and educational institutions and sarcastically remarked that it actually did not happen.

    MS Education Academy

“I thank Amit Shah Ji on laying the foundation for ITIR Hyderabad, National Project status for Palamuru – RR lift irrigation project, Hyderabad Metro Phase 2, IIM, IISER, IIIT, IIT, NID, Navodayas, Medical & Nursing Colleges. Oh Wait he did none of that,” said KTR in the tweet.

“It is countdown time for the BRS party because we (BJP) are confident of winning the elections. When we come to power, we will end the corrupt rule of KCR and his family. No one will be spared,” said Amit Shah at the public meeting.

In a seemingly indirect warning message, Shah told KCR to work for the development of the state rather than wasting time pointing guns at Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He charged that policing and administration in Telangana have been completely politicised and welfare measures which are being extended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi are not percolating down to the grassroots.

Telangana: BRS to propose 6 resolutions at constituency-level meets on April 25

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: The Bharat Rashtra Samithi’s (BRS) working president and state IT minister KT Rama Rao on Sunday informed the upcoming constituency-level meetings, held for the first time, will witness the proposal of six political resolutions on important issues.

Ahead of the BRS constituency-level meetings on April 25, KTR held a teleconference with party leaders to discuss the agenda and lay out detailed plans to make it a success.

Providing suggestions and instructions, KTR said the six political resolutions will discuss Agriculture, Welfare, Palle Pragathi-Pattana Pragathi, Education-Employment, BJP’s failures, and local issues.

    MS Education Academy

He directed the party cadre should involve different age groups to spread awareness by discussing the progress achieved in farming through various state government welfare programmes, and irrigation projects. “Along with Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bima schemes which became role models for the entire country, the Centre’s anti-farmer policies should also be discussed,” he said

“The resolution on Welfare will cover the impact of these schemes on different groups, including women, people with disabilities, and those receiving Aasara pension for the elderly,” he further added.

KTR said, “Had Prime Minister Modi fulfilled his promise of creating 2 crore jobs annually, there would be no need for BJP to hold an unemployment march.”

He said that detailed information on the state government’s programmes related to primary and higher education will also be provided.

Around 4 lakh leaders of the party from village to constituency level will participate in the meeting. It will be attended by 3,000 to 3,500 party activists in each constituency.

The upcoming constituency-level meetings will serve as a platform to sound the bugle for the upcoming assembly elections.
