    Hyderabad: A 9-year-old boy, Samhith Chithajallu penned a book on birds in Hyderabad’s Botanical Garden by the name ‘Winged Friends’.

    On the cover of his book, he said that he likes observing the birds in their natural habitat so as to understand how they behave in the wild. He said he loves exploring the woods and stated that the best part about it is that he gets to see all the wonderful and colorful birds.

    Telangana IT minister KT Rama Rao took to Twitter to share the images of the book and a hand-written letter by Samhith asking the minister to launch the first copy of his book.

    The minister responded and met him with his family and launched the first copy of the book. He also directed the state cultural department to support the young author and his future endeavors.

    In this letter to KTR, Samhith mentions that he loves birdwatching and said, “Now-a-days, I am seeing a lot of birds in Hyderabad. I go to Botanical Gardens every weekend. I saw a lot of birds and made a book on the birds of Botanical Gardens”.

    “Was pleasantly surprised when 9-year-old Samhith Chitajallu reached out to me to launch his Book! Met him today along with his parents & grandparents; requested Telangana Culture department to support the young man. Blessed him to do well in his future endeavours,” KTR tweeted after meeting the boy.

    Hyderabad: The Telangana State Forest Development Corporation Vice Chairman Dr G Chandrashekar Reddy inspected the Botanical Garden area from 8am each day and made various suggestions for the improvement of the same to turn it into a “Botanical Paradise”.

    The MD stressed on the need to keep the gardens neat and clean. He suggested perfect planting areas where visitors can spend much time in the lawns under the trees on the shade grass.

    He also inspected the nature learning class room area which is under construction in the visitor’s zone. He inspected the newly laying bund beside the boating pond and ordered variegated Canna plants. He ordered the improvement of the children’s play area and Open Gym for men and senior citizens. He also advised various varieties of species of native and exotic for planting of further species to increase the diversity of the Garden.

    He also visited the conservation zone theme parks (50 theme parks, 9 ecosystems and 18 types of Forests) planting and inspected its progress.

    He also suggested to take-up the implementation of vitamin garden in addition to the theme parks list and discussed the water facility to the plants and inspected borewells for the upcoming summer season. He further asked officials to work on an exclusive animal kingdom in the hillocks for the benefit of the children.

    Hyderabad: A mini golf course was inaugurated by the Telangana State Forest Development Corporation Limited (TSFDC) at Botanical Gardens in Kothaguda on Monday.

    Taking part in the event, TSFDC’s vice chairman and managing director Dr G Chandrashekar Reddy said the mini golf course is for fun and entertainment.

    Mini golf is played in groups of four or smaller with each mini hole in a unique position. “Studying the bumps, angles, and obstacles will help a person to identify the position of the ‘the cup’ (hole where the ball falls) to determine the course of action,” officials said.

    Talking about maintaining an enriched green environment in Botanical Gardens, Reddy said that more than 2,000 different species of plants were planted by the department. “This is the first time these plants will debut in Botanical Gardens,” he said.
