Will bulldoze homes of rapists, murderers in Telangana: BJP’s Bandi Sanjay

Hyderabad: Telangana Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Wednesday said that anyone who rapes or murders women would have their houses bulldozed if BJP wins the upcoming elections.
Speaking on Wednesday at the Mahila Morcha state executive committee meeting at the party headquarters, Bandi Sanjay said, “If the BJP comes to power in the state, it would pull down the houses of people who resort to murders and rapes of women using bulldozers on the lines of the Uttar Pradesh government.”
“Chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao had earlier warned of plucking the eyes of those who perpetrated atrocities against women. But it turned out to be just empty talk. There is no security for women and girls belonging to SCs and STs,” said Sanjay.
He claimed that under the BJP government, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was instrumental in making an ST woman the President of India and alleged that under the rule of KCR, a woman is lying on the funeral pyre, referring to the suicide case of the Warangal PG medico, Dr D Preethi.
“There are 12 women ministers in Modi cabinet. Similarly, there are eight women governors and four chief ministers during the Modi regime,” he added.
“I wish more representatives of BJP Mahila Morcha would make it to the state assembly in the next elections. Those who work hard in the party would definitely get the posts and positions,” he said.
Sanjay also questioned the chief minister on his lack of response in the Warangal medico suicide case. “Right from the Jubilee Hills rape case to the death of Dr Preethi, there have been several such incidents. Unfortunately, KCR doesn’t respond or react to even a single incident,” he said.
“For KCR, only his daughter Kavitha represents the entire womenfolk and her organisation has been garnering all the funds,” said the BJP state chief.

Echoing similar sentiments about BRS leader K Kavitha, the national president of Mahila Morcha Vanathi Srinivasan said, “For the chief minister of Telangana, the empowerment of women only means the empowerment of his daughter. But for BJP, the empowerment of each woman is the true empowerment.”
Speaking about YSR Telangana Party (YSRTP) leader Y S Sharmila, Bandi Sanjay said, “It is highly unfortunate that the BRS leaders are abusing women leaders like Y S Sharmila in a filthy language. This is against ancient Indian culture, which calls for respecting women like mothers and sisters. A true Indian never insults womenfolk.”
Bandi on Sunday remarked that in the case of Warangal Medico Preethi’s suicide, it is clearly visible that CM KCR is in support of ‘one community’.
Sanjay was indirectly referring to the deceased victim’s senior MA Saif, who belongs to the Muslim community and is the main accused in the case. Sanjay in the past had also referred to the case as a clear case of ‘love jihad’.

Delhi liquor scam: Watch Kejriwal, Sisodia in ‘BJP’s Baahubali’

New Delhi: The Delhi BJP has used a small clip from the blockbuster ‘Baahubali’ movie to mock Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his former deputy Manish Sisodia.
The party unit shared the clip on Twitter on Wednesday and captioned it: “Must watch this film of liquor scam mastermind Kejriwal.”
In the clip which runs over a minute, Sisodia’s face has been superimposed on a man serving liquor at a tavern.
Kejriwal then walks into the tavern and asks for alcohol. When served, he keeps asking for a bigger peg.
As Sisodia asks for money, Kejriwal is seen throwing a heap of gold coins, saying he has enough money to buy drinks for the whole tavern.
This comes days after Sisodia was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation in the Delhi excise police case.
He resigned as a Minister on Tuesday.

BJP’s ‘selfie with beneficiary’ campaign chance to bless PM, says Irani

Aurangabad: The Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday launched its ‘selfie with beneficiary’ campaign in Aurangabad in Maharashtra in the presence of Union Minister Smriti Irani.
It will see party activists reaching one crore beneficiaries of schemes of the BJP-led Union government and clicking selfies with them and uploading them on the NAMO app, the campaign’s national coordinator Medha Kulkarni said.
“This is not merely about selfies. It is a chance for the beneficiary to send their blessings to Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” said Irani.
Union Minister Bhagwat Karad, state minister Atul Save and BJP leader Chitra Wagh were present on the occasion.

Bommai flags off BJP’s Pragati Rath Yatra in Karnataka

Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said on Friday that the people have faith and belief in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as it has a strong leadership.
Speaking after flagging off the BJP Pragati Rath Yatra here on Friday, he said 130 raths (chariots) will tour all over the state to highlight the achievements of both the state and the Central governments.
This information will be disseminated to the women, poor, and the school-children. The BJP can alone build Nava Bharath through Nava Karnataka, he said, adding “once the vehicles of hope complete one round, there will be a BJP tsunami in Karnataka”.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi said determination is the key to success and the work done by the government would be taken to the doorsteps of people. The raths will visit every village in the state to take the achievements of the governments,” the Karnataka Chief Minister said.
He said after the BJP came to power, it ended the travails faced by the people caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
“The government renovated 75 schools in Bengaluru, developed tanks, started Namma Clinics in all wards, granted Rs 6,000 crore for the development of Bengaluru, got grants from the Union government for the sub-urban rail, got released money for the Smart City project. The Lok Sabha members from Karnataka have played an important role in bringing the funds from the Centre,” he said.
The Chief Minister said schemes such as Vidya Nidhi for the children of farmers, agriculture labourers, fishermen and weavers, Swanidhi, Swami Vivekananda Self-Employment, free buses for students and unorganised working men, and monthly financial assistance of Rs 1,000 per agricultural labourer have been implemented by the incumbent government.

Siddaramaiah charges Karnataka CM of presenting wrong info to hide BJP’s corruption

Bengaluru: Senior Congress leader Siddaramaiah on Friday accused Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai of using the Justice H S Kempanna Commission’s report to give wrong information in the Assembly regarding the Arkavathy Layout denotification.
The Leader of Opposition in the Karnataka Assembly said the Chief Minister was acting with an intention to “hide” the corruption charges against the BJP government.
He was reacting to Bommai, who on Thursday in the Assembly, reading out the excerpts from the Justice Kempanna Commission’s report which is not in public, had accused the previous Congress government of “redo” or denotifiation of Arkavathy Layout land.
“When I was not present in the Assembly, Bommai shouted and created an impression that there was a big scam worth Rs 8,000 crore. The Kempanna Commission has said that I did not denotify even one gunta of land. Bommai is speaking plain lies,” Siddaramaiah told reporters here. One gunta is equal to 1,089 square feet.
He noted that Arkavathy Layout was formed in 2003, and before his government came to power, 2,750 acres were notified.
“Later, final notification was done for 1,919.13 acres. This was challenged in High Court and went to the Supreme Court, which fixed some parameters and teams were formed to delete some lands when B S Yediyurappa was the chief minister,” Siddaramaiah added.
The file next went to Jagadish Shettar who subsequently became the Chief Minister, but by then the model code of conduct for the election was in place, so it was sent back, he said.
“When our (Congress) government came, there was a petition in the High Court because of which there was some pressure.”

“As our officers had stated that everything was done as per the Supreme Court’s parameters. I approved it. It was not a redo, but a remodified scheme,” Siddaramaiah further said.
Subsequently as Shettar, who was then Leader of Opposition, and others alleged that there was a scam, he had formed a judicial commission for an inquiry, the Congress leader contended.
Pointing out that in September 2021, the HC constituted another committee under retired Justice K N Keshavanarayana, Siddaramaiah said: “Hearing a PIL that sought for tabling of the Justice Kempanna Commission’s report, the High Court had said it can’t be considered in view of the Keshavanarayana committee that’s functioning. Hence, it was wrong to speak on a report that was not tabled.”
With the ruling BJP accusing him of weakening the Lokayukta by forming the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Siddaramaiah also sought to defend his government’s decision to constitute the new state agency.
“Gujarat, Goa, Assam, Madhya Pradesh and 12 other states have Lokayukta and ACB. Why isn’t the BJP abolishing ACB in these states?” he asked.

AAP slams EC ruling on Shiv Sena factions, calls it part of BJP’s ‘Operation Lotus’

Mumbai: The Aam Aadmi Party on Saturday condemned the decision of the Election Commission of India to recognise the faction led by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde as the real Shiv Sena and said it was an extension of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s “Operation Lotus”.
“Operation Lotus” is a term used by opposition parties alleging foul play on the part of the BJP to topple governments in states by poaching legislators and bringing about splits in ruling parties.
The Election Commission (EC) on Friday allotted the name ‘Shiv Sena’ and its poll symbol ‘bow and arrow’ to the group led by CM Shinde, in the process delivering a big blow to Uddhav Thackeray, whose father Bal Thackeray founded the outfit in 1966.
Institutions like the EC are acting as though choreographed to singularly benefit the BJP, whose culture is one of naked power grab through any means, AAP Mumbai president Preeti Sharma Menon said in a statement here.
“The conduct of EC will even put the proverbial ‘caged parrot’ to shame. Under BJP rule, institution after institution has been destroyed and have been reduced to mere ‘puppets’ and ‘rubberstamps’. The Election Commission is no exception. We have regressed as a democracy,” she alleged.
“The EC order is an extension of Operation Lotus,” she said, adding the Modi government at the Centre and the (state) governor were dubious in their conduct to give an illegal defection (rebellion by Shinde) the colour of a party takeover.
These dangerous acts strike at the very foundations of federalism of our Constitution, she said, adding the BJP’s undemocratic nature is reflective of the RSS’ anti-constitutional psyche.
Meanwhile, the party’s national joint secretary and working president Ruben Mascarenhas said the lotus blooms in dirt and Operation Lotus succeeded with the Congress and Shiv Sena “because there was dirt there”.

He said it did not succeed with the AAP as it is clean and has a playbook to defeat the BJP.

Nagaland polls: BJP’s ‘Vision Document’ talks of promoting Naga culture

Kohima: Preserving a rich Naga identity and culture including establishment of a dedicated Nagaland Cultural Research Fund with an investment of Rs 1,000 crore, inclusive development, agricultural and farmer and women’s welfare are some of the pre-poll commitments made in the BJP’s Nagaland ‘Vision Document’ ahead of the February 27 assembly polls.
Releasing the ‘Vision Document-2023’ in Kohima on Tuesday, BJP President J.P. Nadda said that if the BJP-Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) comes to power, Saramati Cultural University would be established in Kiphire with an investment of Rs 500 crore to promote Naga culture, Rs 100 crore to be spent to promote and expand the scope of all major tribal festivals, he said.
Nadda promised that the Eastern Nagaland Development Board would be set up for the holistic development of the region and a special package for the development of Eastern Nagaland would be given.
The BJP leader said that the Central government would expedite the construction of the Trans-Nagaland Highway to enable easy access across districts, especially from Eastern Nagaland.
The BJP in its ‘Vision Document’ promised that free rice and wheat per month and 5 kg black chickpeas and one litre of mustard oil per family quarterly, would be provided at a subsidised rate to all PDS beneficiaries monthly.
The rate of existing social pension would be increased to Rs 1,000 per month for senior citizens, specially-abled, and widows, health insurance cards would be provided for cashless medical facilities for all government employees, it said.
The BJP promised that in conjunction with the Central government, affordable housing would be provided to all under PM Awas Yojana by 2025.
The ‘Vision Document-2023’ also committed to increasing the financial assistance under the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme from the current Rs 6,000 to Rs 8,000 per annum.

An Agri-Infrastructure Mission would be launched with an investment of Rs 500 crore, the party assured.
It said that the Neidonuo Angami Women Welfare Scheme would be introduced under which a bond of Rs 50,000 would be provided on the birth of a girl child.
The BJP said that if it comes to power, it would provide free-of-cost, quality education to all female students from K-G to P-G, and 2 free-of-cost LPG cylinders would be provided for all Ujjwala beneficiaries every year, while a scooty would be provided to meritorious college-going female students.
For youth’s empowerment, the BJP government would provide 2 lakh self-employment opportunities in the next 5 years while Rs 500 crore would be invested to launch a Nagaland Skill Development University to train the youth and make them job-ready, the Vision Document said, adding that digital tablets would be provided to all the meritorious students of Classes 10 and 12.
The party also said that timely completion and commencement of the Kohima and Mon Medical Colleges would be ensured.
If the BJP comes to power, it would constitute the Nagaland Anti Narcotics Task Force under the Chief Medical Officers to curb the drugs menace in the state.

Hyderabad: Members of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) here on Sunday held protests against ‘Gautam Adani and his friend Modi’ and demanded a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) on the findings of the Hindenburg research report which has made a slew of allegations against the business conglomerate led by industrialist Gautam Adani.
The police arrived at the spot and detained the protestors.

SRINAGAR: Amid the ongoing anti-encroachment drive in Jammu and Kashmir, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has once again lashed out at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), saying that residents in the region have to face ‘Bhajpa ka bulldozer’.
Rahul alleged that the administration is snatching away land from people they have built through years of hard work.
Taking to social networking site Twitter, Rahul wrote: “Jammu and Kashmir needs employment, better business and love, but what did they get? Bulldozer of BJP! J-K wanted employment, love but got BJP’s bulldozer: Rahul

New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Sunday attacked the BJP over the ongoing anti-encroachment drive in Jammu and Kashmir, saying the Union Territory wanted employment, better business and love but instead got the “BJP’s bulldozer”.
Major political parties such as the Congress, the National Conference, and the PDP have voiced their concerns against the drive and demanded an immediate end to it.
The authorities have so far retrieved more than 10 lakh kanals (one kanal =605 sq yards) of land across Jammu and Kashmir after the Commissioner Secretary, Revenue department, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri directed all deputy commissioners to ensure 100 per cent removal of encroachments from the state land on January 7.
In a tweet in Hindi, Gandhi said, “Jammu and Kashmir wanted employment, better business and love, but what did they get? BJP’s Bulldozer!”

The land which the people nurtured with their hard work for many decades, is being snatched away from them, the former Congress chief said.
“Peace and Kashmiriyat will be protected by uniting, not dividing people,” he said.
Gandhi also tagged a media report which claimed that the eviction drive had caused panic in Jammu and Kashmir.
