Met Gala 2023: Did you know Alia Bhatt’s white gown was made using one lakh pearls?

New York: Be it fashion or acting, Alia Bhatt is nailing everything like a pro. On Tuesday, she represented India at Met Gala 2023 and she definitely won hearts with her look.
For her Met Gala debut, Alia opted for a pristine white gown with a billowing silhouette from the shelves of Prabal Gurung.
This time the Met Gala theme paid homage to the late designer Karl Lagerfeld and our Bollywood diva followed it in the most elegant way. The new mother of one perfectly delivered on the theme in the pure white princess gown that had a long train, with every inch of its bodice drenched in pearls.

Also, her white outfit channelled a 1992 bridal look created for Chanel by Karl Lagerfeld and modelled by Claudia Schiffer.
After walking the red carpet, Alia shared pictures of her Met Gala look on Instagram and revealed that her royal ensemble was made using one lakh pearls. Unbelievable, right?
“Met Gala — Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty…I have always been fascinated by the iconic Chanel brides. Season after season, the genius of Karl Lagerfeld shone through in the most innovative and awe-inspiring couture. My look tonight was inspired from this and in particular by supermodel Claudia Schiffer’s 1992 Chanel bridal look.. I wanted to do something that felt authentic (hello, pearls!) and proudly made in India. The embroidery, made with a 100,000 pearls is a labour of love by @prabalgurung. I’m so proud to wear you for my first Met,” she shared.
Alia teamed the gown with embellished gloves, matching diamond earrings and rings. For the glam, she opted for centre-parted half-tied ponytail, high heels, subtle smoky eye shadow, kohl-lined eyes, nude lip shade, and a dewy base.
“A girl can never have too many pearls… and the right accessories to complement the look which in our case translated to the bow of pearls on my hair. Oh, and it’s white, for my Choup-ED,” Alia added.

Alia’s Met Gala is now the talk of the town, garnering abundant love from the netizens.
“Princess,” a netizen wrote.
“Angel,” Alia’s sister Shaheen posted.
“Looking too pretty,” a fan commented.
Anaita Shroff, who styled Alia for Met Gala, also shared more details about her overall “princess” look.
“Let it reign pearls!! Alia zeroed in on a famous corseted couture ball gown look by Karl Lagerfeld worn by Claudia Schiffer as the final Bridal look for Fall 1992 Couture. We then added around 100,000 pearls as a fiting salute to the genius of Karl Lagerfeld by @prabalgurung ! ewelry designer Alice Cicolini x Malabar Gold and Diamonds worked with me closely to create the ring stack. Creating a modern, fresh interpretation, the knuckle duster is created around a large rose cut, surrounded by tapered, baguette and round diamonds, with a tassel of pearls. While the other hand has rings in our beautiful uncut diamond heritage all the same. Karl famously always liked looking ahead looking at what was next,” she wrote.
Anaita continued, “Cutoff custom made embellished gloves by Outhouse with mini motifs as Karl liked to show in his embroidery and statement earrings. We wanted to highlight Alia’s face by releasing the hair back with a straight and wavy messy look. As our Indian brides always wear flowers in their hair, delicate hand strung jasmine buds, so today we created these with pearls and a few spikes to add the right amount of danger and sweetness in a bow! Pearl encrusted hand embroidered shoes by ASAxSko add the finishing punch.So the objective with makeup was to keep the skin looking really romantic with flushed cheeks but also give it that modern twist with soft ethereal eyes and nude lips.”
This appearance of Alia will precede her Hollywood debut in Heart of Stone. Helmed by Tom Harper, Heart of Stone is intended to be the first installment in a series akin to Tom Cruise’s Mission Impossible.

Mumbai: Actress Alia Bhatt turned a year older on Wednesday. Marking her special day, her fans and her family members showered her with loads of love. Her step-sister Pooja Bhatt also dropped a heartfelt post for Alia on social media on her 30th birthday.
Taking to Instagram, Pooja shared a picture in which Alia is seen sharing smiles with her sister and their dad Mahesh Bhatt.
Pooja and Alia are seen twinning in white ensembles.
“Happy International Alia Bhatt day,” Pooja captioned the post.
She also dropped another picture in which Alia is seen grinning ear to ear while posing with her father.
The actress looks extremely beautiful as she paired with statement earrings and black hat. Seems like these pictures were captured at Alia’s late-night birthday celebrations.
30th birthday marks Alia’s first birthday as a mother. Alia welcomed baby girl Raha in November 2022 — a few months after tying the knot with actor Ranbir Kapoor.
Announcing the baby’s arrival, Alia via an Instagram post said, “And in the best news of our lives:- Our baby is here…and what a magical girl she is. We are officially bursting with love – Blessed and obsessed PARENTS!!!! Love love love Alia and Ranbir.”
Meanwhile, on the work front, Alia will be seen in Karan Johar’s upcoming romantic film ‘Rocky aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’ opposite Ranveer Singh, Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Shabana Azmi. The film is all set to hit the theatres on July 28. She also has director Farhan Akhtar’s next film ‘Jee Le Zara’ opposite Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra in her kitty.

B-town stars slam media for Alia Bhatt’s ‘invasion of privacy’

Mumbai: Karan Johar, Anushka Sharma, Neetu Kapoor and Janhvi Kapoor extended their solidarity to Alia Bhatt, who accused the paparazzi and the media of ‘invasion of privacy’ on her Instagram handle on Tuesday.
Alia posted a collage of pictures of herself, taken inside the house without her consent. She wrote in the long note, “Are you kidding me? I was at my house having a perfectly normal afternoon sitting in my living room when I felt something watching me…. I looked up and saw two men on the terrace of my neighbouring building with a camera right at me! In what world is this okay and allowed?”
Tagging the Mumbai police, she added, “This is a gross invasion of someone’s privacy and it’s safe to say all lines were crossed today! @mumbaipolice.”
In support of Alia, Anushka Sharma wrote on her Instagram story, “This is not the first time they are doing this. About two years ago we called them out for the same reason! You’d think it would have made them more respectful of people’s space and privacy. Absolutely shameful! They were also the only guys posting photos of our daughter despite repeated requests!”
Karan Johar was also furious at the incident. He took to Instagram to post, “There is no justification to this absolutely disgusting invasion of privacy!!!! Everyone from the entertainment industry is always for the media and the paparazzi and are accommodating… but there HAS to be a LIMIT… This is about anyone’s right to feel safe in their own homes! This is not about actors or celebrities it’s a basic human right!!!”
Re-sharing the post on social media, Alia’s mother-in-law Neetu Kapoor wrote, “This is not right!!!”
Sridevi’s daughter Janhvi Kapoor was too annoyed with the incident. In a long post, she wrote, “This is disgustingly intrusive. This publication has repeatedly done things like this. Including despite my continuous requests, photographed me unaware; inside the gym, I go to while working out through the glass door. In a space that is supposed to be private, where one does not anticipate to get photographed. I understand showing up to places, and in plain sight and doing your job.”
She further added, ”Where there is a mutual understanding of the job of the photographers, and the job and requirements of being a public figure. This stealthiness, zooming into someone’s private space without their consent or even awareness and calling it exclusive as if it’s a journalistic accomplishment is far from it.”

After Alia posted about her resentment in the evening, Arjun Kapoor and her sister Shaheen Bhatt were the first ones who showed support for the ‘Raazi’ actor.
This is an ongoing tussle between the celebs and the paparazzi about the intrusion of private space, which has hit the headlines in recent time.
