Telangana Secretariat’s look reflects Nizam culture, will bring its ‘domes’ down: Bandi

Hyderabad: If Bharatiya Janata Party is voted to power in Telangana, it would demolish the domes of newly-built state secretariat that reflect the culture of the Nizams, state party president Bandi Sanjay Kumar announced on Friday.

Addressing a street corner meeting of the party at Old Boinpally under Kukatpally assembly constituency limits as part of “Janam Gosa-BJP Bharosa” Programme, Sanjay said the forthcoming BJP government would wipe out all kinds of structures that are symbols of slavery of the Nizam regime.

“If we are voted to power, we shall destroy the cultural symbols of the Nizam in Telangana, including the domes of the newly-built Secretariat. We shall make suitable changes that reflect the Indian and Telangana culture,” he said, adding that chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had converted Tajmahal-like Secretariat into a graveyard only to appease the Owaisis.

Sanjay also announced that Pragati Bhavan, the official bungalow of the chief minister, would also be converted into a Praja Darbar.

Reacting to minister KT Rama Rao’s statement that the government would demolish places of worship that cause hurdles for the expansion of roads, the BJP president challenged KTR to demolish, if he could, the mosques that were built in the middle of the roads in the old city of Hyderabad.

He alleged that the ruling party leaders had encroached upon the poor people’s lands in Kukatpally and when the latter registered protests, they were being booked in false cases.

Stating that there was an overwhelming response to the BJP everywhere in the state, Sanjay said the street corner meetings were aimed at explaining to the people the anarchic rule of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi to the people and the success stories of the Narendra Modi government.

“The chief minister is confined to either farmhouse or Pragati Bhavan and is least bothered about the people. Till now, the government employees haven’t got their salaries and development has taken a back seat,” he said.

Stating that 60 percent of the income of the state comes from Hyderabad, the BJP leader demanded that the state government explain how much of it is spent on the development of Hyderabad. “The KCR government is caught in neck-deep corruption and it is time the people teach him a fitting lesson,” he added.

  • Telangana: KCR’s rally in Nanded a mega flop, says Bandi Sanjay

Telangana: KCR’s rally in Nanded a mega flop, says Bandi Sanjay

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: Telangana Bharatiya Janata Party president Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Sunday described the public meeting of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) at Maharashtra’s Nanded as a damp squib.

“The so-called national meeting of KCR was a mega flop. The people of Maharashtra cared a damn for the rally, though 30 MLAs, two ministers and two MPs had camped in Nanded for the last 25 days. Finally, they managed the show by mobilising people from the bordering Telangana districts by paying them Rs 500 each,” Sanjay said in a statement in the evening.

He said though the BRS had given a huge hype to the meeting saying that top leaders of Maharashtra would join the party, it turned out to be a flop show. Most of those who joined the party were outdated leaders who cannot poll even 10 votes in their respective villages. “That KCR himself appeared irritated for being made to wait holding the pink stoles itself was an indication to the fate of the BRS in Maharashtra,” he said.

Referring to KCR’s promises made at the meeting, Sanjay said they all were non-starters. “The chief minister promised to provide 33 percent quota for women in the legislatures. This is just a hollow promise. He did not have a woman cabinet minister for five years and has so far not nominated the chairperson of women’s commission. Not a single woman was given any nominated post. There is not a single woman Rajya Sabha member representing TRS. He should have mentioned all these points at the Nanded meeting,” he said.

On KCR’s reference to the farmers’ suicides in Maharashtra, the BJP leader said it was like devils quoting scriptures. Compared to Telangana, Maharashtra’s population is three times more. In terms of farmers’ suicides, Telangana stands fourth in the country.

“Despite being in power for two terms, KCR has failed to stop farmers’ suicides in the state and more so, in his own Gajwel constituency,” he criticised.

Sanjay reiterated that the state government had done away with all subsidies in the name of implementing Rythu Bandhu scheme for farmers. It has not been implementing the Central government’s Fasal Bima Yojana, he said.

He also described KCR’s tall claim of giving round-the-clock power supply to agriculture as a big joke. “In the Telangana districts bordering Nanded, farmers are agitating for at least eight hours power supply and protesting against collection of additional consumption deposits,” he pointed out.

Sanjay also found fault with KCR for making lofty statements on irrigation, drinking water supply, power and road infrastructure, as if he was a great intellectual. “It is just an empty rhetoric, as he has failed to implement them in his own state,” he said.

On KCR’s statement that he would nationalise all privatised enterprises if BRS was voted to power, the BJP president recalled that the chief minister had failed to revive the closed units like Nizam Sugar Factory and AP Rayons. “Who will believe his empty talk?” he asked.

Sanjay claimed that Maharashtra had been far ahead of Telangana in several aspects like construction of housing for the poor, implementation of Ayushman Bharat, payment of compensation to the farmers for the crop loss, industrial growth etc. “Telangana, however, is NO. 1 in liquor sales, high diesel and petrol rates,” he criticised.

Coming down heavily on KCR for invoking Shivaji’s name to promote the BRS, the BJP leader said while Shivaji had established a true Hindu rajya, KCR had mortgaged the state with the Nizam’s successors and Razakars. He alleged that KCR and his family members had shown more interest in making money through scams; yet, are giving call for a people’s movement on the lines of Jayaprakash Narayan.

“The people are laughing at your talk. It is certain that they will bury the BRS deep in the soil in the next elections,” he added.

KCR has no right to live in this country: Bandi Sanjay

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: Hoisting the tricolour at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) office in Hyderabad on Thursday, state BJP president Bandi Sanjay attacked the chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) by saying he has no ‘moral right’ to live in this country.

Addressing the party functionaries Sanjay said KCR had humiliated Dr B R Ambedkar by not arranging the Republic Day celebrations at the Parade Grounds in Secunderabad, despite directions from the state High Court.

He also accused the CM for repeatedly insulting the Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan.

“KCR has been inviting the chief ministers of other states to prop up his BRS, but does he have the guts to ask them not to invite the governors of their respective states to the Republic Day celebrations?” Sanjay asked.

Sanjay added the BJP would strive for a democratic Telangana with the spirit of Dr B R Ambedkar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

  • Praja Sangrama Yatra: Bandi Sanjay likely to cover 17 LS constituencies

Praja Sangrama Yatra: Bandi Sanjay likely to cover 17 LS constituencies

    [ad_1]

New Delhi: After successfully completing five phases of his ‘Praja Sangrama Yatra’, which started in August last year across 57 assembly constituencies, the BJP’s Telangana president Bandi Sanjay is all set to embark on another round of the yatra.

The latest leg of the yatra will be covered in a bus, in line with an idea floated by central leaders.

“We are in the process of finalising the schedule. However, as of now, the plan is to cover 17 Lok Sabha parliamentary constituencies in a space of 35-40 days. We will propose that this phase of yatra to gets underway by the end of February,” a party source said.

During the yatra, cenrtral leaders will join the BJP state chief at every Lok Sabha constituency that he covers.

Several Union ministers have been put in charge of various constituencies and assigned clusters as the party prepares for the year-end Assembly polls. Union Ministers, including Pralhad Joshi, Mahendra Nath Pandey, Jyotiraditya Scindia, BL Verma and Devu Sinh Chauhan, have been assigned several responsibilities in Telangana.

Another plan around the yatra is also being discussed. “If the padayatra rolls out for another phase, the state president will cover 11 Assembly constituencies from Kodangal to Nizamabad.” another source told ANI.

PM Narendra Modi had heaped praise on the party Telangana state president at the recently concluded two-day National Executive meeting.

PM Modi had said Bandi’s fighting spirit could be compared to that of stalwarts like Telegu legend NTR.

Bandi, who embarked on his Praja Sangrama Yatra in August 2021, has walked 1,393 kilometres in 120 days. The fifth phase of the yatra has covered 57 Assembly seats. Sanjay has held 112 public meetings, 72 gram sabhas and 90 cohort meetings so far.

Over the course of his Praja Sangrama Yatra, Sanjay has taken the attack to K Chandrasekhar Rao-led Telangana government and has highlighted the BJP’s core agenda.

Bandi launched a tirade against the Telangana government, calling it a dynastic regime that has put the interest of the people and the state’s development on the back burner.
