Hyderabad: Two men held for sexually assaulting a woman

Hyderabad: Two persons were arrested here for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman and later “stealing” her gold chain, police said on Sunday.
In a complaint lodged with police, the woman said she was walking from Peeramcheruvu to her residence after completing work at a house where she is employed as a maid on February 18.
At that time, two men approached her on the pretext of taking her for work but pushed her into their car to an isolated place and sexually assaulted her, it stated.
The duo also later took her gold chain weighing about 24 grams, the woman said in the complaint.
A case was registered and a probe based on CCTV footage along with other evidences collected by Narsingi police led them to the two accused. They were apprehended and the stolen gold chain was recovered intact from them, a release from Cyberabad police said.
Police also recovered the vehicle which was used in the commission of offence. The accused were sent to judicial remand.

Indian charged for allegedly assaulting security officer in Singapore

Singapore: An Indian man has been charged in Singapore for allegedly hitting, grabbing and pushing a security officer, and may face a jail-term of five years and fined up to S$10,000.
Ajitpal Singh, 45, was charged on Friday with an offence under the Private Security Industry Act for allegedly assaulting Afinde Mohamad at the Le Quest condominium in Bukit Batok Street in August 2022, The Straits Times reported.
The police said earlier that they were alerted to the case at around 12.45 a.m. on August 29, 2022, but did not disclose why the incident occurred.
Singh’s case has been adjourned to March 15, according to the report.
This was not the first case involving violence against security officers that made the headlines in recent months.
In October 2022, a Bentley driver who threatened to run down a 62-year-old security guard outside a school in Bedok was jailed for eight weeks and fined S$600.
In Singapore, penalties for those who harass, assault or hurt security officers were enhanced in May 2022.

Gujarat: Two arrested for assaulting Bank of India employee

Nadiad: The police have arrested two persons for assaulting an employee at Bank of India’s (BOI) Nadiad branch.
Manish Dhangar is serving as an officer with the Bank of India’s Nadiad-Kapadwanj branch, handling the loan desk.

In his complaint, Dhangar said, “On Friday afternoon, a customer named Samarth Brahmbhatt reached the branch and started beating me. He slapped me three to four times and even kicked me. When the other staff tried to intervene, Samarth’s friend Parth, who was accompanying him, kicked me.”
According to Dhangar, Samarth was angry with him and the bank because repeated calls were made to him to submit a copy of his house insurance policy.
Samarth had threatened over the phone that he will not submit the insurance policy.
Samarth had taken a home loan from the bank. During the audit, it was found that the customer had not submitted his house insurance policy, which was required since the house was not mortgaged with the bank.
The police have arrested both accused persons.

Teacher held for assaulting girl student in Rajkot school

Rajkot: Rajkot police on Saturday arrested a school teacher, Sagar Vadher, for assaulting a Class 7 girl student at the D.K. School. The incident occurred on Friday.
Inspector R.G. Barot told the media that Vadher has been under under the IPC sections related to assault or criminal force on women, criminal intimidation and various sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POSCO) Act.
School principal Jagruti Patadia told the media that it was an unfortunate incident, and the moment the student’s parents complained over phone, she checked the CCTV footage of the classroom, and on finding that Vadher had assaulted the girl, she immediately informed the police.
Vadher had joined the school just one-and-a-half months ago. The school’s timing is 12 noon to 6 p.m., and mostly the staff stayed back after school hours. But on Friday, Vadher had left the school early.
“The student described her ordeal to her parents on returning home. Had she told us, we would have acted faster,” Patadia said.
The victim’s mother alleged that after returning from school, her daughter looked tense. On inquiry, she said that her teacher had touched her inappropriately.
