UAE: Arab couple arrested for stealing Mercedes Benz worth Rs 11 lakh

An Arab couple in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has been sentenced to six months for stealing a Mercedes Benz car worth 50,000 Dirhams (Rs 11,16,971), local media reported.
According to the case filed by the victim, the woman resident of Ras Al Khaimah was considered the main defendant in the case because she posed as a car buyer.
In the details, the victim posted his car up for sale on social media, and the woman reached out to him expressing interest. He agreed to sell the car for 50,000 Dirhams.
As per a report by Khaleej Times, the victim drove from Dubai to Ras Al Khaimah at a coffee shop after the woman said she transferred the money and added that it takes about three hours for the money to reflect in his bank account.
Meanwhile, the woman took the car key on the table and left, saying she wanted to check the car.
As per media reports, the victim said that after a while, her husband also asked him for an excuse to go to the restroom, but he didn’t return. And when he went out to look for the couple, couldn’t find them and his car.
He tried calling them but the phones were switched off.
He then filed a complaint at the police station and the Public Prosecutor referred the case to the Ras Al Khaimah Day Court after examining the case.

It is reported that, that the couple did not appear before the court and a criminal sentence was issued against them for a period of six months.
The final verdict in the case has not yet been issued.

Woman passenger caught smoking on Kolkata-Bengaluru flight, arrested

Bengaluru: A 24-year-old woman passenger has been arrested after she was found smoking in a lavatory of a Kolkata-Bengaluru flight, officials said.
The incident took place on an Indigo flight on March 5.
Alerted by the smell of smoke emanating from the lavatory, the cabin crew forced open the door and found the woman smoking there. She then threw the cigarette in a dust bin, after which the cabin crew poured water on it.
The cabin crew brought the incident to to the captain’s notice. The captain filed a complaint about the “undisciplined” passenger.
On landing at Bengaluru airport, the passenger was handed over to the airport security who filed a complaint against her. She was arrested by the airport police and charged under Section 336 (act of rashly and negligently endangering human life or the personal safety of others) of the IPC.

2 OGW’s of Lashkar offshoot TRF arrested during CASO in Tangmarg, claims police

Baramulla, Mar 07: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested two TRF militant associates along with ammunition from Tangmarg village of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district. The case under the Arms and UA(P) Act has also been registered.
A police spokesperson told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that during the cordon and search operation (CASO) at Monchkhud Kunzer village of Tangmarg in Baramulla, two suspects were arrested who during interrogation revealed that they are working for Lashkar offshoot TRF.
“Two AK 47 Magazines, 15 AK 47 rounds were recovered from their possession, besides 20 blank posters of TRF were also seized”, he said.
The official identified the arrested overground workers (OGW’s) as Khurshid Ahmad Khan son of Mushtaq Ahmad Khan and Reyaz Ahmad Khan son of Ghulam Mohi ud Din Khan – both the residents of Zandpal area of Kunzer.
“The arrestees had obtained the ammunition in a bid to carry out the attacks in Tangmarg areas”, officials added.
Meanwhile, a case under sections of Arms and UA (P) Act stands registered in Police station Kunzer, while further investigation has been set into the motion—(KNO)

Two LeT Militant Associates Arrested In North Kashmir

SRINAGAR: Police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested two militant associates of Lashkar-i-Toiba oufit in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
In a handout, the police said that that Joint forces of Baramulla Police and 176 Bn CRPF on a specific information regarding presence of militants in Village Monchkhud Kunzer launched a joint CASO in the said village.
During CASO two suspect persons were apprehended, and they have been identified as Khurshid Ahmad Khan son of Mushtaq Ahmad Khan and Reyaz Ahmad Khan son of Gh Mohi ud Din Khan both residents of Zandpal Kunzer.
The spokesperson further stated that two AK 47 Magazines, 15 AK 47 rounds, 20 Blank posters of banned LeT (TRF) were recovered were recovered from their possession.
During questioning suspects revealed that they are working as militant associates with banned militant outfit LeT (TRF) and were taken into custody immediately, he said.
It is pertinent to mention here that the militant associate obtained these illegal ammunition with intent to carry out militant activities in Kunzer and adjacent areas, he said.
Case under sections of Arms and UA (P) Act stands registered in Police station Kunzer and investigation set in motion, the official said. (GNS)

Hyderabad: Two including girlfriend arrested in Abdullapurmet murder case

Hyderabad: Two more persons including Katta Niharika, the girlfriend of Hari Hara Krishna, who allegedly murdered an engineering student N Naveen for getting close to Niharika was arrested by the Abdullapurmet police.
“Krishna after murdering Naveen met Niharika and was in touch with her on phone. She gave him Rs. 1,500 for expenses. Both of them met and went to the murder spot and later had dinner,” said B Sai Sri, DCP L B Nagar.
The police also arrested Prabhaliti Hassain (21), a friend of Krishna. Police said that Krishna had dumped the body parts at different places and sought Hassain’s help to shift them to the spot where Naveen was killed.
The body parts were later set on fire to erase the evidence. Both Niharika and Hassain were well aware of the murder and helped Krishna to the maximum, the DCP said.
When Naveen’s family members called Hari Krishna on February 21 to check about the former’s whereabouts, Krishna panicked.
Fearing that his crime may get exposed, he left for Khammam. Later, he went to Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam and went to Warangal to meet his father on February 23.
His father informed him that the police are on the lookout for him and suggested that he surrender. Hari Krishna then went to his girlfriend’s house and took a bath. From here he went straight to Abdullapurmet police station and surrendered.

Hyderabad: Nine arrested for gambling in Moghalpura

Hyderabad: The South Zone Task Force police team raided a house at Moghalpura and arrested nine persons found gambling. Nine mobile phones and Rs. 47,200 cash were seized.
On credible information, the Task Force team raided the house. The organizer whose name the police did not wish to reveal was taking a commission to let the participants gamble.
The nine persons along with the property were handed over to the Moghalpura police station. A case has been registered and further investigations are on.

Hyderabad: Gold worth Rs 33 lakhs seized from airport; three arrested

Hyderabad: The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) team at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport apprehended three persons and seized 600 grams of gold in the early hours of Sunday.
The three persons are identified as M Ashfaque Ahmed, 37, Mohammed Shaikh Abdulla, 31, and Naina Mohammed, 49.
According to the CISF official, the three accused were arrested based on profiling and behaviour detection. They had arrived from Dubai on an Indigo and later an Air India flight.
“On inquiry, their WhatsApp chats and voice messages were checked. We checked their bags and found four iron spare parts of odd weight. Upon opening the spare parts, 596 grams of gold worth Rs. 33,73,360/- was found,” police said.
The three accused along with the seized gold were handed over to the Customs officials.

Duo Alleged of Stalking, Harassing & Intimidating Girl Arrested in Srinagar; Scooty Used for Offence Also Seized

Srinagar, Mar 5: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Sunday arrested two boys alleged of stalking, harassing and intimidating a girl in central Kashmir’s Srinagar district.
“On 4-03-2023, a girl was stalked and harassed by two boys, riding a scooty. The boys had made lewd gestures and comments against the girl. The girl had posted about the incident on her social media account and subsequently also approached police post Nehru Park with a written application”, reads a statement issued to GNS.
“On receipt of the complaint, an FIR was lodged under relevant sections of the law in Ram Munshi Bagh Police Station against the accused boys.”
The two boys, the statement reads, were arrested by a team led by SI Syed Khalil, DO Nehru Park, under supervision of SDPO Nehru Park Mansha Beigh and a scooty bearing registration number JK01AG 5814 on which they committed the offence has been seized as well.
The duo will be produced in Court for getting their police remand, reads the statement.
Meanwhile, DIG Sujeet Kumar of Central Kashmir Range and Deputy Commissioner of Srinagar City Ajaz Asad congratulated for taking quick action.
DC Srinagar in a tweet, as per GNS wrote; “Prompt action by @SrinagarPolice. Miscreants arrested. Two wheeler seized. Such elements will not be spared and shall face action under the law. We are here to keep Srinagar city absolutely safe for everybody.” (GNS)
