    Hyderabad: The Petbasheerabad police raided N S Wellness SPA centre at Qutbullapur and arrested an organizer, a customer and three women masseurs on Sunday.

    On specific information, a police team headed by the Inspector G Prashanth raided the massage parlour being run illegally by organizer Ashwini.

    The owner of the building, Rama Krishna had rented the building for the Spa centre knowing about it being illegal operated.

    The police booked a case and arrested the five persons.

    Four days after Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg being detained by German police during a protest against coal mine expansion in the west German village of Lützerath, the German Police has been nominated for Oscar in best supporting actor category.

    Greta Thunberg was part of the large group of activists who reportedly broke through a police barrier, while police waited for “Role Camera Action” shout. Greta Thunberg encroached on a coal pit which was not entirely secured by the officials, revealed a police spokesperson.

    Later the same day, Greta Thunberg posed with the German Police officials showing victory sign after the day shoot was over. The picture of Greta Thunberg with German Police Officials went viral on social media, and Oscar jury nominated the German Police officials for Oscars as a wild card entry.

    The Oscar nomination were already closed but jury didn’t want to miss the epic acting of German Police and hence, selected it under wild card entry. 95th Academy Awards ceremony, presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, will honor films released in 2022 and the nominations of the same will be announced on Jan 24th.

    Anantnag; A 38-year-old man suffered a cardiac arrest and passed away on Saturday early morning in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

    The 38 year old man fell unconscious at home.He was immediately rushed to District Hospital Anantnag for treatment where doctors decalred him dead on arrival.

    According to an Hospital official the person was brought dead to the hospital after having suffered cardiopulmonary arrest.

    “He has been identified as Nazir Ahmad Mir alias Nazir Ashiq (38), a resident of Palpora Dailgam,” he said.

    Pertinently to mention that due to Cardiac arrest 11 People dies in past 9 days so far.

    Two persons from Doda district in Jammu and Kashmir were apprehended by Jammu and Kashmir Police along with heroin-like substances from their possession, police said on Sunday.

    According to a statement issued to The News Caravan, police said that a police party of Police Post DH Doda laid a naka on Bharat Road and, while conducting checking and frisking of vehicles and pedestrians, intercepted one vehicle, a WagonR bearing Registration No. JK06A/3499, for checking purposes. On inquiry, the driver disclosed his name as Shadab Ishaq, son of Mohd Ishaq Wani, a resident of Ghat Doda. During his personal search, a heroin-like substance (chitta) was recovered from his possession. Similarly, his associate, who was also travelling in the said wagon-type vehicle, disclosed his name as Farooq Ahmed, son of Mohd Sabar, resident of Sekwan Doda, was also searched, and a heroin-like substance (chitta) was also recovered from his possession. 

    “Upon this, FIR No. 249/2022 under the relevant sections has been registered at Police Station Doda and the investigation of the case has started,” the statement further reads.

    Doda Police is appealing to the general public to extend cooperation to the police and provide inputs or information if any clue of drug smuggling is noticed so that the menace of drugs is eradicated from the society, according to the statement.

    The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport witnessed two separate operations by customs officials result in the seizure of 61 kg of gold valued at Rs 32 crore, an official said on Sunday, making it the department’s greatest value seizure at an airport in a single day, according to reports.

    An official who said that the seizures conducted on Friday resulted in the arrest of at least seven travellers, including five men and two women.

    He claimed that this was the largest single-day seizure in the history of the Mumbai airport customs.

    Four Indians returning from Tanzania were found carrying 1 kg gold bars in the first operation; the bars were hidden inside specially made belts with numerous pockets, the officer said according to the report.

    News agency PTI quoted an official who said that officials found 53 kg of UAE-made gold bars worth Rs 28.17 crore hidden within the passengers’ torso-hugging belts.

    According to the official, a Sudanese national at Doha Airport gave the travellers their belts during the transit period.

    He said a court had taken the four travellers into jail and remanded them to 14 days of judicial custody. Similarly, he added that three passengers who had come from Dubai had 8 kilogramme of gold worth Rs 3.88 crore seized from them by customs officials.

    He said that the trio, which included two ladies, was carrying waxy gold dust. The official said that the gold was cleverly hidden in the waistband of the travellers’ jeans.

    He added that the trio were detained and remanded to judicial custody, and that one of the women was in her late 60s and using a wheelchair.
