During the meeting, arrangements for the Hajj camp and the departure and return of the pilgrims were finalized. Speaking to media persons after the meeting, Chairman Haj Committee Mr. Mohammed Saleem, Chairman, Telangana Waqf Board Mr. Masihullah Khan, and Executive Officer Mr. B. Shafiullah informed that the convoys will leave for Jeddah from Hyderabad between June 7 and 22, according to the schedule prepared by the Haj Committee of India. Under the new rules, pilgrims will have to obtain a fitness certificate after an inspection in government hospitals, and the schedule of vaccination will be announced soon. The tent of the Hajj camp will be fully air-conditioned, and pilgrims will leave for the airport by air-conditioned buses. A separate terminal will be provided for the pilgrims at the airport, where immigration and other essential procedures will be carried out.

According to Mohammad Saleem, the pilgrims will be sent to the airport from Hajj House four hours in advance. He also stated that there is no shortage of budget for Hajj arrangements and the government will release the necessary funds.

Optional arrangements should be made for Tughlakabad residents: Delhi minister

    [ad_1]

New Delhi: Delhi Urban Development Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj on Monday said alternative arrangements should be made for the residents of Tughlakabad whose houses are being demolished.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader said the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has gone to the court for demolishing the houses of those living around Tughlakabad.

The Delhi government’s lawyers have told the court that the ASI failed to protect its land for a long time, Bharadwaj said.

    MS Education Academy

“All these oversights and carelessness are the fault of the ASI of the central government, which permitted the land mafia to sell the land by cutting it. Now, the ASI has woken up after years and is demolishing the houses and rendering thousands of people homeless.

“After hearing this, the Delhi government was given some time by the court. But a few days ago, the matter came up again in the Delhi High Court and the court, accepting the views of the Centre, ordered the demolition of these houses,” he said.

Bharadwaj said the matter was mentioned in the Supreme Court by the Mazdoor Awas Samiti. Delhi government’s lawyer Shadan Farasat told the bench of Justice Sanjeev Khanna that the elected government of the city believes that thousands of people started living in the area due to the Centre’s negligence and the connivance of its officers and now, if their houses are destroyed, thousands of people will be homeless.

“This is the land of the ASI. The court should pay attention to the fact that the ASI or the DDA (Delhi Development Authority) should provide the land to the state government so that the latter can come up with a rehabilitation plan and make alternative arrangements for these people,” Bharadwaj said.

On Monday, the Supreme Court refused to stay the demolition drive. The next hearing was on Tuesday.

“Let notices be served on the Central government, Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), and the Delhi Development Authority. We are not staying,” the bench said.

  • Pandits Perform Hawan After 32 Years In Budgam Temple,Thank Muslims For Arrangements

    [ad_1]

SRINAGAR: After a gap of 32 years, Kashmiri Pandits from different parts of the country on Friday thronged the Regenya Mata Asthapan temple at the Badipora area of Chadoora in central Kashmir’s Budgam district and performed Maha Yagye (Hawan).

They expressed joy over returning to their native village after a long time and celebrating the festival. They said the event was a “symbol of hope and reconciliation” for all the communities in the valley.

Setting an example of communal harmony and brotherhood, the local Muslims came together to extend best wishes to Pandits and helped the devotees in the smooth celebration of the religious event.

‘’This event was held after 32 years and we received a lot of love from the local residents,” a local devotee, Bhushan Lal Koul said, adding that the love and warmth they received from the muslim brethren made us all emotional.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam S F Hamid also paid a visit to the temple and participated in the Hawan.

“Seeing Muslims and Pandits attending each other’s functions after a 32-year break is a testament to our community’s brotherhood and solidarity,” the DC said, adding, “This event showcased the changing ground realities in the region where Kashmiri Pandits are gradually returning to their homes and rebuilding their lives.” (KNO)

  • Gyanvapi mosque case: SC records assurance for arrangements for wuzu on Eid

Gyanvapi mosque case: SC records assurance for arrangements for wuzu on Eid

    [ad_1]

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Friday recorded the assurance given by Solicitor General Tushar Mehta that Varanasi district administration will provide sufficient water facilities to the devotees performing ‘wuzu’ (ablution) in Gyanvapi mosque.

A bench, headed by Chief Justice of India D.Y. Chandrachud and comprising Justice P.S. Narasimha said: “We record the statement of the Solicitor General that in order to facilitate the performance of wuzu, the District Magistrate shall ensure that there are sufficient number of tubs and facilities of water made available in proximity so…..no inconvenience is caused to the devotees who come for performing namaz”.

During the hearing, Mehta submitted that toilets have been 70 metres away from the place, but they are asking for these facilities inside the premises of the mosque.

    MS Education Academy

Senior advocate Huzefa Ahmadi, appearing on behalf of the Committee of Management of the Anjuman Intezamia Masjid, submitted that the disputed area had been in use by Muslim worshippers for years for the purpose of wuzu. He stressed that this is the last Friday just before Eid.

The bench queried Mehta as why can there be no arrangements made for Friday and Saturday? Mehta responded that it is not possible because the entry to the bathroom is through the disputed area where the purported ‘Shiva Linga’ or according to them, a fountain is located and emphasised that the toilets are just 70 metres away.

Ahmadi questioned why should Muslim worshippers be forced to go outside the premises for the purposes of doing wuzu? Mehta replied that it is not wuzu, rather he was talking about the toilet facilities and assured that water will be provided to the Muslim worshippers for the performance of wuzu, and that there are six tubs.

The bench stressed that to facilitate the performance of ablution, long tubs should be provided. Mehta emphasised that authorities will provide sufficient water in order to ensure that everyone can perform wuzu.

In November last year, the apex court had extended the protection of the area inside Gyanvapi mosque where a “Shiv Linga” was found till further orders.

The top court had said the interim order, passed in May 2022, will remain in operation till further orders.

Committee of Management Anjuman Intezamia Masajid Varanasi, in its plea, contended the ablution area of the mosque where the “said object” has been found which, the petitioner maintains, is in fact a part of an old fountain. The plea further added that it was sealed by the district authorities and remains sealed till date, and the washroom alongside the same also remains sealed.

The plea contended that it has created inconvenience for the worshippers where they are deprived of the wuzukhana needed for offering namaz as well as the washroom. It pointed that the door to access the washroom was through the ablution area and the same remains sealed.

  • MHA, IB Team To Review Security Arrangements For G20 Meet

MHA, IB Team To Review Security Arrangements For G20 Meet

    [ad_1]

SRINAGAR: A team consisting of officials from the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and Intelligence Bureau (IB) arrived in Srinagar today to inspect the arrangements for the upcoming G20 meeting in Jammu and Kashmir, as well as the security situation in the region. This visit will be followed by a two-day meeting in New Delhi on April 15 and 16, where the Jammu and Kashmir security scenario, with specific reference to the G20 meeting scheduled for May in Srinagar, will be discussed.

According to official sources, the Ministries of External Affairs and Home, along with the Jammu and Kashmir Government, are working to ensure a peaceful G20 meeting in Srinagar. They have taken steps to make security arrangements well in advance to prevent any untoward incidents in the Valley.

“In light of the security concerns, a team of senior officers from the MHA and IB arrived in Srinagar today and immediately held discussions with top police and intelligence officials to assess the security situation,” sources said, as per media reports.

“The Intelligence agencies have received information that the militants and their handlers in Pakistan are frustrated due to the successful elimination of militants, particularly their top commanders, and are unable to carry out attacks in the Valley. However, there is a possibility that they may resort to attacking soft targets prior to the G20 meeting, which is a significant international event in the region,” they added.

The MHA and IB team, as per sources, will meet with senior civil and police officials to comprehensively finalize security arrangements ahead of and during the G20 meeting in the entire Jammu and Kashmir region, particularly in the Valley. The summit venue and the locations visited by G20 delegates will be placed under a 24×7 security net almost a week before the scheduled summit date. Along with the Jammu and Kashmir Police, the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) will provide security for the venue, places visited by delegates, and other vulnerable areas where militants could target. As per sources, all such areas will be fully secured.

According to sources, both the Central and Jammu and Kashmir Governments are committed to ensuring foolproof security arrangements for the upcoming G20 meeting. The visiting team, comprising officials from the MHA and IB, will also assess the general security situation in Jammu and Kashmir. Intelligence agencies have expressed concerns about the possibility of militants striking in the lead-up to the summit, particularly in districts with little militant presence. The team is working to prevent any such incidents from occurring.

After the team returns to New Delhi, the MHA is likely to review the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir on April 15 and 16,” sources said. “The meeting will cover topics such as the G20 summit and the upcoming annual pilgrimage to the Amarnath shrine.

Despite the fact that the SASB has yet to announce dates for the pilgrimage, rumors suggest that the Yatra may last around 60 days this year. As a result, additional paramilitary forces may need to be deployed by the Union Home Ministry. Top civil and police officials from the Jammu and Kashmir Government are regularly reviewing all aspects of the G20 summit, including security, accommodation, and places to visit.
