  • Aptech Controversy: Aspirants On Streets For Second Day

    [ad_1]

SRINAGAR: Protests against JKSSB gained momentum after a massive online campaign against JKSSB and Aptech trended for days all over social media.

Scores of job aspirants hit the streets for the second consecutive day on Thursday to protest against the hiring of the blacklisted Aptech by JKSSB for conducting written examinations for recruitment to various posts.

Job spirants assembled at the Press Enclave and raised slogans against Aptech and the JKSSB.

“Why is JKSSB adamant on giving contract to a tainted company.  We just want our future to be in safe hands and for that there should be a blanket ban on Aptech,” the protesting students said.

Meanwhile, hundreds of aspirants from Jammu on Wednesday assembled at Dogra Chowk and protested against the notification and issuance of admit cards even as the matter of JKSSB is still pending before the court.

The protesting students who were demanding a ban on Aptech were lathi-charged and some of them were detained.

Pertinently, the Jammu and Kashmir administration headed by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha last year cancelled the selected list of 1,200 police sub-inspectors, 1,300 junior engineers and 1,000 finance account assistants (FAA) following allegations of paper leak and malpractices.

After scrapping recruitment lists, Lt Governor Manoj Sinha announced fresh exams and promised a transparent and fair recruitment process, however, the contract with Aptech again brought the students on streets, halting the exam process.

Meanwhile, the protesting aspirants from all over the UT have drawn immense support from political class who continuously are posting in favour of the aspirants on their Twitter Handles.

The political class is demanding for an immediate action against Aptech and has strongly condemned the use of force against students in Jammu.

Former chief minister Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah took to Twitter and wrote, “I condemn, in the strongest possible terms, the use of force & lathi charge against students & JKSSB aspirants. These youngsters were exercising their democratic right to protest against the recent decision to engage a blacklisted firm #Aptech by JKSSB.”

Speaking to reporters in Shopian, PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti said, “Many job aspirants are on protest both in Srinagar and Jammu. They were lathi-charged and I condemn that in strongest possible terms,” she said.

“Strongly condemn the use of force against students protesting APTECH. Using force against students shows how alienated the administration is. Who would order use of force against young students. Have some shame. U would probably have children at home, of same age group,” People’s Conference chairperson Sajjad Lone wrote on his Twitter handle.

  • Outrage over hiring of APTECH by J&K Services Selection Board

    [ad_1]

Srinagar, Mar 06: The engagement of APTECH by the Services Selection Board (SSB) for conducting computer-based job tests in Jammu & Kashmir has come under severe criticism in Jammu & Kashmir.

Claiming that the firm has been blacklisted in several States, the job aspirants, civil society actors and politicians are up in arms over the SSB’s move to hire APTECH firm for conducting computer-based job tests in Jammu and Kashmir.

As per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), social media platforms were flooded with angry reactions over engagement of the APTECH by the SSB for conducting computer-based job tests in Jammu & Kashmir.

The hashtag#Aptech blacklisted is trending on the twitter, with netizens appealing J&K administration to scrap the contract with the firm to save future of youth of J&K.

“Students of J&K are crying due to mess created by JKSSB. What hardworking students will get when blacklisted company will conduct exams. Aptech is scam & JKSSB is destroying careers of youth. This company should be banned forever. #JKSSB #Aptech,” social media influencer and aspiring politician Guftar Choudhary tweeted.

Lawyer and former Congress spokesman Deepika Puskhar Nath said that hiring of APTECH firm is a sheer fraud with job aspirants.

“Hiring dubious #Aptech exam conducting agency for the state level recruitment is a sheer fraud with the aspirants. #AptechBlacklisted tampered with Central level exams and one can imagine the susceptibility of #JKSSB exams. Restore Merit system, save meritorious youth of J&K,” she wrote on twitter. Political leaders also assailed the move of hiring APTECH.

“I have received a lot of emails and messages about Aptech which has been blacklisted in other states. Given the shoddy track record of the past, SSRB better tread with caution. Students need to be heard. You can’t thrust a blacklisted company on our future,” PC chief Sajad Gani Lone tweeted.

National Conference chief spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar also lambasted the administration over awarding contract to the blacklisted firm, saying it is a move to “destroy” career of local youth. “JKSSB is the enfant terrible of the incumbent J&K administration. The board in spite of addressing the genuine concerns and fear of the educated, skilled local youth seems hell-bent to destroy their future by continuously persisting with a blacklisted company,” Dar said.

The J&K congress unit on its official Twitter handle said that it stands with aspirants who are suffering due to the illegitimate alliance of Aptech + JKSSB + corrupt officials + BJP leaders.

Chief Spokesperson of Democratic Azad Party (DAP) Salman Nizami termed the awarding of contract to Aptech Limited a “deep rooted conspiracy”. “Awarding a contract to blacklisted Aptech by JKSSB seems a deep rooted conspiracy to spoil the future of J&K’s youth. The contract should be withdrawn immediately and in future never to engage with such companies,” Nizami said—(KNO)

JKNC Condemns Govt’s Appointment Of Blacklisted APTECH For JKSSB Exams

    [ad_1]

SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference State Spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar on Monday slammed the government on selection and the award of contracts to ‘tainted’ and blacklisted APTECH Company for conducting the upcoming Jammu Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) exams.

Echoing the public rage over the decision, Imran, as per the news agency GNS, said “The Company has been penalized by the Supreme Court and is on the blocklists of various states including Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan. In J&K also the company was accused of blatant irregularities and violations of the law in altering the tender’s terms and conditions. Why is such a company being selected which has consistently failed to provide transparency and accountability in conducting such an exercise? This question begs to be answered. The board instead of addressing the genuine concerns and fear of the educated, skilled local youth seems hell-bent on destroying their future. Such an undue decision doesn’t inspire the confidence of aspirants in such public examinations.”

In the first place, the company shouldn’t have been allowed to compete in the tendering process. “Commercial interest should never outweigh the public interest. As is happening in this case. There is every likelihood of biases, favoritism, and unfairness in the said process. I hope the incumbent LG administration will refrain from letting the company conduct public examinations which require a high degree of secrecy/fairness as the future of aspirants would depend upon such examinations.”

There is a major scam at work, he said, “Despite J&K high court’s questioning the awarding of the contract to APTECH, the assigning of the contract to the same company doesn’t stand any reason. I also request the honorable high court to take Suo moto cognizance of the issues in the public interest.” (GNS)
