Indore: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat will be on a two-day visit to Burhanpur city in Madhya Pradesh beginning April 16 during which he will visit a Ram temple and a gurdwara, a Sangh office-bearer said on Tuesday.

Bhagwat will also participate in different programs.

Burhanpur, called the “gateway of southern India”, due to its geographical location, once used to be a major centre of the Mughal sultanate and culture.

However, according to the Sangh, “Brahmapur” is the ancient name of Burhanpur, a city with a huge population of Muslims.

Vinay Dixit, the publicity head of the Sangh’s Malwa prant unit, said in a release that Bhagwat will participate in a programme of renovation of Govindnath Maharaj’s samadhi at Mahajanapeth in Burhanpur on April 16. He will visit the newly-constructed Shri Ram temple and address devotees. Bhagwat will also pay obeisance at the historic “Badi Sangat Gurdwara” in the Lodhipura area.

Dixit said RSS founder K B Hedgewar had come to Burhanpur in 1937 and the first ‘shakha’ of the Sangh was started in Mahajanapeth.

On April 17, Bhagwat will attend the office inauguration ceremony at Dr Hedgewar Smarak Samiti of Burhanpur, a social organisation, and will address people.

Mumbai: The Mumbai police have tracked and detained a person who threatened “to kill Bollywood megastar Salman Khan on April 30”, top officials said here on Tuesday.

On Monday evening, the Mumbai police control room received a call from one unidentified person who conveyed a terse message: “On (April) 30, I shall kill Salman Khan. You can inform him,” and disconnected.

When the police control room staff called him back on the mobile number, he identified himself as ‘Rocky bhai’, a ‘gaushala rakshak’, speaking from Jodhpur in Rajasthan.

Swinging into action, several police teams fanned out to track and identify the caller, who was traced to Dolkhamb village in Thane, nearly 50 km north of Mumbai.

A police team reached there and attempted to catch him, but with the help of his friends, he managed to escape on a motorcycle.

  • SpaceX’s Starship spacecraft launch likely by April end: Elon Musk

SpaceX’s Starship spacecraft launch likely by April end: Elon Musk

    [ad_1]

San Francisco: SpaceX’s Starship is likely to launch on the first orbital flight by April end, CEO Elon Musk said.

“Starship launch trending towards near the end of third week of April,” Musk wrote in a tweet on Monday.

A day ago, he had said that the “Starship is ready for launch. Awaiting regulatory approval”.

    MS Education Academy

The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is yet to grant licence approval for the orbital test flight.

The agency on Monday issued a revised notice that said the launch could now happen on April 17.

Another hurdle is federal environmental compliance review.

Meanwhile, SpaceX has been long gearing up for the flight. The company has rolled its Ship 24 out to Starbase’s orbital launch pad.

It has also conducted fuelling tests with Booster 7 on the orbital launch mount, with Ship 24 on the ground nearby.

Starship is the world’s most powerful rocket and will be used to send humans to the Moon and then eventually to Mars.

It consists of a giant first-stage booster called Super Heavy and a 50 metres upper-stage spacecraft known as Starship.

Both stainless-steel vehicles are designed to be fully and rapidly reusable, and both are powered by SpaceX’s next-gen Raptor engine — 33 for Super Heavy and six for Starship.

Moreover, Musk recently said that there is only a 50 per cent chance that the first-ever orbital mission of SpaceX’s huge Starship vehicle will be a success.

But he also stressed that SpaceX is building multiple Starship vehicles at the South Texas site.

These will be launched in relatively quick succession over the coming months, and there’s about an 80 per cent chance one of them will reach orbit this year.

  • Will Hyderabad witness first solar eclipse of 2023 on April 20?

Will Hyderabad witness first solar eclipse of 2023 on April 20?

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: Are you an astrophile residing in Hyderabad and eagerly waiting for the first solar eclipse of 2023? If yes, you might be wondering if the eclipse will be visible from Hyderabad.

According to the data from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the first solar eclipse of 2023 will occur on April 20, 2023. The eclipse will be visible from South East Asia, East Indies, Australia, the Philippines, New Zealand, Indonesia, and Papua New Guinea. Unfortunately, Hyderabad is not on the list of places where the eclipse will be visible.

However, the eclipse is going to be a hybrid solar eclipse, which means that some places will witness a total solar eclipse, whereas others will see an annular eclipse. So, if you are an astrophile residing near the places where the eclipse will be visible, you can witness this celestial event.

    MS Education Academy

Hyderabad witnessed partial solar eclipse last year

Last year, Hyderabad witnessed a partial solar eclipse on October 25, 2022. Many astrophiles who were eagerly waiting for the event headed to the Birla Planetarium in Hyderabad to enjoy the celestial event.

At Birla Planetarium, a telescope projected an image of the partial solar eclipse on the screen. A telescope with solar filters was also arranged for those who wanted to watch directly.

Besides the partial solar eclipse, Hyderabad also witnessed a partial lunar eclipse recently.

    Solar vs Lunar Eclipse

Lunar eclipses, like solar eclipses, occur due to the rotation of the Earth around the Sun and the Moon around the Earth. Due to the rotation, at some point, Sun, Moon, and Earth come in a linear configuration. Because of it, either the Sun or the Moon becomes invisible from the Earth.

In a solar eclipse, the Sun becomes invisible because its rays will not reach the Earth as they will be blocked by the Moon. In contrast, in a lunar eclipse, Sun rays will not reach the Moon as they will be blocked by the Earth.

CPI to launch padayatra against PM Modi’s rule, across India from April 14

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: Communist Party of India (CPI) National Secretary K Narayana on Monday said the party would organise a
padayatra from April 14 to May 15 throughout India against PM Modi government’s rule.

“A call has been given by CPI from April 14 to May 15, to launch a padayatra to meet the people. We will go to every village, meet the people and explain the dangerous rule of the PM Modi government in all aspects including corporate, development and all common problems.

We are conducting this program throughout India,” CPI National Secretary K Narayana told ANI in Hyderabad.

    MS Education Academy

“We want to explain the dangers coming from the Prime Minister to the country, the Constitution, democracy and secularism. We also want to unite all anti-BJP forces,” he added.

Speaking on PM Modi’s degree he said, “I am unable to understand how he is lying being a Prime Minister. He is lying about everything including his graduation certificate.

This is not about the qualification or the Prime Minister, the question is why is he hiding his graduation certificate unethically and lying about it.”

He also appreciated KCR’s decision to participate in the bid for the Vishakhapatnam steel plant and said, “Telangana Chief Minister KCR is ready to participate in the bid for the Visakhapatnam steel plant.

Around 32 students died during the agitation ‘Visakha Ukku Andhrula Hakku’. It is a prestigious public sector undertaking.”
Telangana state government is ready to participate in the bid.

We welcome the decision and congratulate Telangana CM. CPI and our trade unions will support KCR to keep the public sector, he further said.

  • Telangana: T-SAVE to organise hunger strike on April 17

Telangana: T-SAVE to organise hunger strike on April 17

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: The Telangana Students’ Action for Vacancies and Employment (T-SAVE), that was proposed and floated by YSR Telangana Party (YSRTP) as an umbrella organisation, announced a daylong hunger strike by all opposition parties at Indira Park on April 17.

The hunger strike was announced at its inaugural roundtable meeting on Monday in Hyderabad.

Speaking at the event, Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Telangana Party (YSRTP) chief YS Sharmila blamed both the state and central governments for allegedly failing to meet the expectations of the students and the unemployed youth. “KCR has failed to generate a single job during this term, and despite carving new districts and mandals, there has been no effort made to fill vacancies and address the growing administrative needs,” she added.

    MS Education Academy

“This figure stands at close to 4 lakhs, while the Biswal Committee’s recommendation to fill up 1.91 lakh vacancies has fallen on deaf ears. Inside the Assembly, the CM puts the vacancies at 80,000, then the notification is issued for barely 40,000 jobs and finally exams are held for 8000 posts. The fate of these too are indefinite after the paper leakage,” said the YSRTP president.

Sharmila added that her party will stage a hunger strike for a day at Indira Park to “bring this government to task” and put pressure and force it to deliver justice to the youth.

She also demanded that the Biswal Committee recommendations be immediately implemented, and a CBI enquiry be called to look into the paper leakages. “If KCR fails, why doesn’t the BJP government launch the CBI probe?” she added.

Listing the demands of T-SAVE Sharmila said, “Skill development should be prioritised, Nirudyoga Bhruthi (pension for the unemployed youth) be immediately disbursed, fees reimbursement dues be cleared, and corporation loans be facilitated to turn youth into self-made entrepreneurs”.

T-SAVE also demanded that the Central government give clarity on its commitment to 2 crore jobs annually. “They have deceived Telangana on IIM, coach factory, steel factory, tribal university and many other bifurcation related promises. These would have generated employment for the state youth,” Sharmila said.

Speaking on the occasion, TPCC official spokesperson Addanki Dayakar lashed out at the KCR government for “concentrating” on liquor business rather than students’ future. “His failure and recklessness in paper leakage is unpardonable, while his son is a classic case of inefficiency. The vacancies stand at 2.20 lakhs in the state and KCR’s tall talk about Rs 4 lakh crore budget is a sham and ham,” alleged Dayakar.

“KCR’s rule is all about corruption, scandals, and scams. We support T-SAVE and stand by the side of the youth,” he said.

  • Varanasi: SC to hear plea for ‘Wuzu’ at Gyanvapi mosque on April 14

Varanasi: SC to hear plea for ‘Wuzu’ at Gyanvapi mosque on April 14

    [ad_1]

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Monday agreed to examine on April 14, a plea for alternative arrangement for ‘wuzu’ for worshippers at Gyanvapi mosque, Varanasi. The plea said that due to Ramazan, the number of worshippers have increased.

Senior advocate Huzefa Ahmadi mentioned the matter on behalf of Muslim side before a bench headed by Chief Justice of India D.Y. Chandrachud.

The bench told Ahmadi that this is a procedural issue. The counsel requested the court to hear the matter on Monday and said “the water for wuzu is being used for a drum. There are more worshippers due to Ramazan.”

    MS Education Academy

He further added that he is insisting because of Ramzan. However, the Chief Justice said it would be difficult for Justice Surya Kant, who was part of the earlier bench, to join for hearing. After hearing brief submissions, the bench said it will hear the matter on April 14.

In November last year, the apex court had extended the protection of the area inside Gyanvapi mosque, where a ‘Shivling’ was found, till further orders.

The top court had said the interim order passed in May 2022, in connection with the protection of the area inside Gyanvapi mosque where a ‘Shivling’ was found, during a survey, will remain in operation till further orders.

Committee of Management Anjuman Intezamia Masajid Varanasi, in its plea, contended the ablution area of the mosque where the “said object” has been found which, the petitioner maintains, is in fact a part of an old fountain. The plea further added that it was sealed by the district authorities and remains sealed till date, and the washroom alongside the same also remains sealed.

The plea contended that it has created inconvenience for the worshippers where they are deprived of the wuzukhana needed for offering namaz as well as the washroom. It pointed that the door to access the washroom was through the ablution area and the same remains sealed.
