    The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Tourism Ahmed Al-Khatib announced on Thursday, that all expatriate residents of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries will be allowed to obtain a tourist visa for the Kingdom, regardless of their profession, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

    The requirement of specific professions for granting a tourist visa to residents of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries was abolished.

    “Saudi Arabia’s visa application is now simpler, more convenient and straightforward for residents of GCC states, regardless of their profession,” Al-Khatib tweeted.

    Al-Khatib said that the tourist visa will allow holders to visit the various regions of the Kingdom and perform Umrah

    The ministry said that all residents of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries will be able to enter the Kingdom with an electronic tourist visa obtained by applying through the “Visit Saudi” platform, provided that their residence permit is valid for at least three months and a passport for six months at least. the least.

    Riyadh: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) has started issuing Umrah permits for the holy month of Ramzan 1444/2023 via an electronic platform aimed to facilitate services for rituals.

    The Ministry of Haj and Umrah stated that those who want to perform Umrah in the month of Ramzan can get permission through the Nusuk platform.

    The Eatmarna app previously used for Umrah bookings has been cancelled.

    “Issuing of permits for Ramzan Umrah is open now. For easy and smooth Umrah, make your reservation via the Nusuk app,” the ministry tweeted on Wednesday.

    Those who wish to perform Umrah during Ramzan this year should start booking their places as soon as possible. Time slots are limited so it is essential to remember that they may be taken quickly.

    The time map showed that there is severe crowding during the first three Thursdays of Ramzan, which corresponds to the second, ninth and sixteenth day of the month.

    While the remaining 20 days of Ramzan showed slight crowding. It is to be noted that the last ten days of Ramzan are still not available for booking in Nusuk.

    Ramzan is usually the peak of the Umrah season.

    Umrah is a pilgrimage to Islam’s two holiest sites in the cities of Makkah and Madinah and can be performed at any time of the year. It is distinct from the Haj, which takes place once annually.

    Ramzan is expected to start this year on March 23, although the exact date is likely to be announced on the night of March 22 by the country’s moon-sighting committee.

    Requirements for IGNOU Scholarship  Online Application

    While submitting the online application for the IGNOU scholarship, the following requirements must be fulfilled:

    • Along with the application form, a passport size photograph, attested income certificate, community certificate, address proof, and Aadhar card copy has to be submitted.
    • Personal and educational details are asked in the scholarship form, so the applicant needs to enter them carefully.
    • The application form with any discrepancy will be rejected by the exam board of IGNOU for the scholarship.
    • The IGNOU scholarship form will be issued online on the official website. But, the candidates are advised to keep their hard copies for their future references.
    •  The scholarship form must be submitted online before the last date. Besides this, the hard copy of the same must be submitted to the regional study center of IGNOU.

    IGNOU Scholarship and Reimbursement of Fees Rules

    • At the time of admission, all the students have to submit the full fee to the IGNOU including reserved category students who are Physically Handicapped.
    • Reserved category students viz. SC, ST, and Physically Handicapped enrolled in any of the IGNOU programs are eligible for GOI scholarships, but only at the PG level.
    • These scholarship forms can be obtained from the Directorate of Social Welfare or the Office of the Social Welfare Officer of the concerned State Government. This is followed by submitting the filled-in form to them via the concerned Regional Director of IGNOU.
    • Besides this, the scholarship program of the National Centre for Promotion of Employment of Disabled People (NCPEDP) is also applicable for PG-level students of IGNOU.

    Eligibility Criteria

    The applicant for the IGNOU scholarship must meet the academic eligibility criteria as given below:

    This scholarship by IGNOU will be available only for PG first-year students who are enrolled in a regular full-time Master’s Degree course.

    • Students of Ph.D. or SC or OC or ST categories can also apply for the IGNOU scholarship.
    • This scholarship is provided to support financially weak students so the yearly income of parents/guardians must not be more than 3 lakhs.
