The All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) has released the first list of candidates for upcoming assembly polls in Karnataka.

As per the announcement, Lateef Khan Amir Khan Pathan is going to contest from Belagavi North-11 whereas, Durgappa Kashappa Bijawad and Allabaksh Mehboob Sab Bijapur are candidates from Hubli-Dhadwad-East-72 and Basavana Bhagewadi-28 respectively.

AIMIM to contest in Rajasthan too

Earlier, AIMIM president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi announced that his party will contest the upcoming Assembly elections in Rajasthan and Karnataka.

Addressing the 65th formation day celebrations of AIMIM at its headquarters in Darussalam, he also exuded confidence that the party will increase its strength in Telangana in the elections scheduled later this year.

Owaisi asked his party cadres to gear up for the Telangana Assembly elections. “The poll bugle for the Telangana Assembly elections has been sounded,” he said.

Karnataka, Rajasthan and Telangana Assembly polls

While Karnataka is scheduled to go for assembly elections before May 2023, the polls in Rajasthan and Telangana will be held before the end of the current year.

In Telangana, TRS-friendly party AIMIM may also consider an option to increase their seat share in the upcoming polls in the state. Currently, it has seven MLAs in the state assembly.

  • Dubai firm announces paid menstrual, menopause leave; gets over 1K CVs in 24 hours

Dubai firm announces paid menstrual, menopause leave; gets over 1K CVs in 24 hours

    [ad_1]

The Dubai-based public relations agency, which announced a first-of-its-kind policy to support its female employees by offering paid leave for fertility-based treatments, menopause, and period-related leave, received more than 1,000 job applications in less than 24 hours.

On Tuesday, February 28, TishTash Communications, headquartered in Dubai, announced that its staff will receive paid leave for menstrual and menopause, in addition to a variety of other women’s health needs.

According to it, staff members can avail of up to six days of menopause (and menstrual) leave per year, which is not part of the employees’ personal or sick leave.

According to TishTash Communications, recent research shows menopausal symptoms are forcing women out of the workforce, with nearly a million women leaving their professions due to unmanageable symptoms.

The agency notes that more than 10 of its team members range in age from 35-45, and because of TishTash is an all-female workforce, the agency strives to create a culture that encourages open and safe conversations about both menopause and menstruation.

“I can’t reply fast enough,” said Natasha Hatherall, Founder and CEO of TishTash Communications told Khaleej Times.

The agency also received over 100 phone calls at the front desk asking if the company was hiring.

Natasha on Wednesday took to Linkedin and wrote,

“Less than 24 hours since we made this announcement at TishTash Communications and we have received over 1000 job applications and our office phone has not stopped ringing.”

“Some of the applications are so searingly honest from women describing how they are literally crippled with endometriosis at their desk but are working in companies where they fear calling in sick, especially with “women problems” for losing their jobs.”

“The need to work in a company where it is “ok” to be a woman and all that comes with that is massive and I thought I had insight before today, but the hundreds of applications and personal messages I’ve received across social media show me maybe we haven’t touched the half it it.”

“As ever, for us it is not just about creating headlines and driving awareness on topics close to our hearts, but it is about walking the walk and continuing to do so and this is what Polly Willams and I are committed to at TishTash.”

“We hope others may listen and take action to create change with us.”

Natasha has also received many notes praising the move on Linkedin.

  • UAE announces guidelines on ‘tax residency’

UAE announces guidelines on ‘tax residency’

    [ad_1]

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ministry of Finance has issued guidelines on determining tax residency for individual residing in the country, the Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.

The rules, which took effect on Wednesday, are designed to clarify local definitions of determining whether a person or legal entity can be considered a tax resident in the UAE.

According to the guidelines, an individual’s ‘usual place of residence’ will be in the UAE if this is where he/she normally or habitually resides and their centre of financial and personal interests will be in the UAE if this is where their work, personal, economic relationships or other connections are the strongest.

The guidelines also states that all days or parts of a day in which an individual is physically present in the UAE will be counted in determining whether the 183-day or 90-day thresholds are met.

In addition, the individual does not need to own his “place of permanent residence”, but that place must be constantly available to him.

“The ministerial decision on implementing domestic tax residency rules is important as it gives additional clarity to individuals in respect of when they are considered as tax residents under UAE taxation laws,” Younis Haji Al Khouri, Undersecretary in the Ministry of Finance, said.

  • Gehlot announces relief of Rs 5 lakh each for families of Junaid, Nasir

Gehlot announces relief of Rs 5 lakh each for families of Junaid, Nasir

    [ad_1]

Jaipur: Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Thursday announced a relief package of Rs 5 lakh each for families of Junaid and Nasir, whose charred bodies were found in Haryana’s Bhiwani district after they were abducted from Bharatpur.

“The state government will provide Rs 5 lakh compensation each to the wives and children of both the deceased. An amount of Rs 1 lakh each will be provided as cash whereas a fixed deposit of Rs 4 lakh each will be done so that the dependent families do not face any problem in the education and marriage of the kids,” he told reporters.

The chief minister had met the family members of Junaid and Nasir at a temporary arrangement made near a helipad in Ghatmeeka village.

He was accompanied by Tourism Minister Vishvendra Singh, Minister of State for Education and local MLA Zahida Khan, Congress state unit chief Govind Singh Dotasra, Chief Secretary Usha Sharma and DGP Umesh Mishra.

Nasir (25) and Junaid alias Juna (35), both residents of Ghatmeeka village in Bharatpur district of Rajasthan, were allegedly abducted by cow vigilantes on February 15 and their bodies were found inside a burnt car in Loharu in Bhiwani in Haryana on the morning of February 16.

Nasir is survived by his wife, while Junaid is survived by his wife, six children and a mentally challenged brother.

Gehlot also said that he will talk to his Haryana counterpart Manohar Lal Khattar to take the incident with utmost seriousness as it is of similar nature to the incident that happened in Udaipur where a tailor was hacked to death.

He said his government is committed to arresting the accused at the earliest and submit the charge sheet. Such a crime deserves nothing less than death penalty, he said.

A total of nine accused, including Bajrang Dal member Monu Manesar who runs a cow protection group, and Srikant Pandit, whose mother lodged a complaint against the Rajasthan Police, have been named in the case so far.

The accused have been booked under sections 143 (unlawful assembly), 365 (kidnapping), 367 (grievously hurt after kidnapping) and 368 (wrongfully keeping in confinement) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Two more IPC sections — 302 (murder) and 201 (causing disappearance of evidence) — were later added, police said.

Junaid had a criminal record of cattle smuggling and five cases were registered against him at different police stations, they said.
