Satellite’s successful launch shows ISRO’s prowess in space sector: Andhra CM

    [ad_1]

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Friday said that the placement of three satellites successfully into their intended orbits showed the prowess of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).

CM Jagan Reddy extended congratulations to the team of ISRO for the launch of SSLV-D2, propelling the nation’s space initiatives.

“The mission of placing three satellites into the intended orbits shows the prowess of Indian Space acumen,” Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy said and wished ISRO team and the youngsters associated with the project all success in future endeavours.

The Small Satellite Launch Vehicle – SSLV-D2 has been successfully launched from Satish Dhawan Space Centre at Sriharikota in the morning and successfully placed three satellites EOS-07, Janus-1 and AzaadiSAT-2 into their 450 km circular orbit.

“SLV-D2/EOS-07 Mission is accomplished successfully. SSLV-D2 placed EOS-07, Janus-1 and AzaadiSAT-2 into their intended orbits,” said ISRO.

The launch has put ISRO’s an earth observation satellite EOS-07 and two co-passenger satellites Janus-1 and AzaadiSAT-2 into a 450 km circular orbit around the Earth.

Soon after the launch, Mission Director, ISRO Vinoth said “Janus 1 satellite separated. SSLV D2 mission accomplished.”

The new vehicle was developed to capture the emerging small and microsatellite commercial market.
Speaking on the occasion, ISRO chief S Somanath said, “Congratulations to all three satellite teams for making the satellites as well as placing them in right orbit.

We analysed the problems faced in SSLV-D1, identified corrective actions and implemented them at a very fast pace to ensure the vehicle becomes successful this time.”

He said, “Today, after this launch, we are preparing to commence the launch campaign of PSLV-C55. This launch is for NSIL and will probably be launched by the end of March. So the launch campaign will commence today by placing the rocket at launch pedestal in a new facility.”

According to ISRO, the second developmental flight of SSLV-D2 was scheduled at 09:18 hours IST from the first launch pad at SDSC SHAR in Sriharikota. SSLV-D2 is intended to inject the EOS-07, Janus-1 and AzaadiSAT-2 satellites into a 450 km circular orbit, in its 15-minute flight.

EOS-07 is a 156.3 kg satellite designed, developed and realized by ISRO. New experiments include mm-Wave Humidity Sounder and Spectrum Monitoring Payload. Janus-1, a 10.2 kg satellite belongs to the US-based firm Antaris. It is configured with three solid propulsion stages and a velocity terminal module. It is a 34 m tall, 2 m diameter vehicle having a lift-off mass of 120 t.

Meanwhile, the 8.7 kg satellite AzaadiSAT-2 is a combined effort of about 750 girl students across India guided by Chennai-based Space Kidz India.

SSLV caters to the launch of up to 500 kg satellites to Low Earth Orbits on a ‘launch-on-demand’ basis.
The space research body said it provides low-cost access to Space, offers low turn-around time and flexibility in accommodating multiple satellites, and demands minimal launch infrastructure.
The first test flight of SSLV ended in partial failure on August 9, 2022.

  • Andhra Pradesh CM may shift to Vizag next month

Andhra Pradesh CM may shift to Vizag next month

    [ad_1]

Visakhapatnam: A week after Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy declared that Visakhapatnam will be the state capital, authorities have begun arrangements to shift the administrative capital to the port city from Amaravati.

Visakhapatnam district administration is busy identifying suitable buildings including a building for the Chief Minister’s official residence.

Though the district authorities are yet to receive formal orders about shifting of the state capital, the officials were doing the ground work to keep everything ready in advance. The orders are likely to be issued anytime.

A building for the Chief Minister’s official residence is likely to be finalised on Beach Road, a key landmark area in the city. The official circles are abuzz with the talk that if everything goes well, the Chief Minister may perform the house warming ceremony on March 22 or 23.

Officials were also busy identifying buildings for the government offices and residences of the minister and senior IAS and IPS officials.

Addressing a meeting in New Delhi on January 31, Jagan Mohan Reddy had announced that Visakhapatnam will soon become the state capital.

He was addressing a curtain raiser event for the global investors’ summit in Visakhapatnam on March 3 and 4.

“Here I am to invite you to Visakhapatnam, which is going to be our capital, in the days to come. I myself would also be shifting over to Visakhapatnam in the months to come as well,” said Jagan Mohan Reddy, who is currently running the government from Amaravati.

Though several ministers had been speaking about this, it was the first time that the Chief Minister made a categorical statement about shifting the administrative capital to Visakhapatnam.

It was in 2019 that the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government mooted the idea of three state capitals with Visakhapatnam as the administrative capital. However, protests by farmers of Amaravati over shifting of the capital and the High Court order directing the government to develop Amaravati as the state capital had delayed the process.

On December 17, 2019 Jagan Mohan Reddy had announced in the state Assembly that three state capitals will be developed reversing the decision of the previous TDP government to develop Amaravati as the state capital.

The YSRCP government mooted Visakhapatnam as administrative capital, Kurnool as judicial capital and Amaravati as legislative capital.

This triggered massive protests by farmers of Amaravati who had given 33,000 acres of land for the capital and the previous government had also undertaken the works on some components of the mega project.

On March 3, 2022, Andhra Pradesh High Court had directed the state government to develop Amaravati as the state capital in six months. A bench of three judges had pronounced the judgment on 75 petitions filed by Amaravati farmers and others challenging the government’s move on three capitals.

However, the state government filed an appeal in the Supreme Court. In November last year, the Supreme Court stayed the High Court order saying that the court cannot act like a town planner or an engineer.

  • Andhra youth migrating to other states for jobs: Lokesh

Andhra youth migrating to other states for jobs: Lokesh

    [ad_1]

Amaravati: Youth from Andhra Pradesh are migrating to various parts of the country in search of employment opportunities as there are no jobs in the state, TDP national General Secretary Nara Lokesh said on Sunday.

As part of his ongoing padayatra ‘Yuva Galam’, Lokesh, the son of TDP chief and former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, had a meeting with the local youth at Kanipakam in Puthalapattu Assembly segment in Chittoor district.

The youth informed Lokesh that they are migrating to other states in search of some employment and wanted him to initiate immediate steps for establishing companies in the state soon after coming back to power, thus saving the lives of the youth. “The state government should not threaten the companies and only then the investors will set up their units in the state,” a youth said.

The youth from Rayalaseema lost employment opportunities as the Amara Raja Batteries shifted its unit to Telangana. They told the TDP leader that they pursued their studies by raising loans and now there is no employment.

Lokesh assured the youth that all the companies that shifted their units from the state will be invited back once the TDP is again into the government and the youth will be provided employment opportunities.

Responding to the complaint that the RTC fares are revised following which there is a lot of financial burden on them, Lokesh promised to withdraw once the TDP is back in the government.

The TDP national General Secretary also demanded that the age limit be extended for government jobs since the employment notifications are issued very late.

“Why is the job calendar not released on January 1 as promised,” Lokesh asked and said that over 2.30 lakh posts have been lying vacant for the past four years.

“Chief Minister Mr Jagan (Mohan Reddy) who had said that he would make Delhi tremble if the voters from the State give him 25 MPs, is now getting shivers on seeing Delhi,” Lokesh said in a sarcastic manner.

Send DGP to Andhra Pradesh, demands Telangana BJP MLA

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: Telangana BJP MLA Raghunandan Rao on Sunday demanded Director General of Police Anjani Kumar be immediately sent to his cadre state, Andhra Pradesh.

He alleged that injustice was done to the Indian Police Service (IPS) officers from Telangana by the state government as it posted four IPS officers from Bihar in key positions.

The MLA told reporters that in the recent transfer of 93 IPS officers, Anjani Kumar, Sanjay Jain, Swati Lakra and Shahnawaz Qasim were given key posts.

He alleged that not even one IPS officer from Telangana was given an important post.

He said Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao appointed officials from Bihar to key posts like Chief Secretary and the DGP, which gives credence to the doubt that he hails from Bihar.

He alleged that CM KCR gave key posts to officials who were obeying the government’s orders by arresting leaders of opposition parties.

The BJP leader slammed AIMIM leader Akbaruddin Owaisi for his statement in the Assembly that AIMIM would win 15 Assembly seats but would work under Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) led by KCR.

Raghunandan Rao said this proved their allegation that AIMIM is ‘B’ team of BRS.
