Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Wednesday granted bail to former Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLC Adireddy Appa Rao and his son and TDP state executive secretary Adireddy Srinivasa Rao in a case relating to financial irregularities in a chit fund company.

They were arrested by the Crime Investigation Department (CID) of Andhra Pradesh on April 30. They had filed a petition for bail and the High Court had completed hearing on the same two days ago.

Appa Rao, the husband of TDP Rajahmundry MLA Adireddy Bhavani, and their son Srinivasa Rao, are directors in Jagajjanani Chit Funds Private Limited.

During the hearing on the bail petition, the counsel of the TDP leaders argued that the Depositors Act does not apply in the case. They also argued that a case was registered against them without any complaint lodged by depositors.

On behalf of the state government, Advocate General Sriram submitted to the court that the accused diverted money of the depositors for other purposes.

The main opposition TDP had condemned the arrests. TDP national president and former chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu spoke to Bhavani over phone and expressed solidarity with her.

Naidu said that the political harassment and vendetta by the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government is increasing by the day. He lamented that there is no change in the ruling party’s behaviour.

The TDP president had said the YSRCP government believed only in illegal cases and illegal arrests. He said the arrest of Appa Rao and Srinivasa Rao is another example of the YSRCP government’s politics of vendetta.

The TDP chief said despite courts reprimanding the government on many occasions, the Jagan government has not mended its ways.

Andhra Pradesh CM launches helpline to redress people’s grievances

    [ad_1]

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday launched a new programme, ‘Jaganannaku Chebudham’ aimed at redressing individual grievances pertaining to government services or schemes.

The Chief Minister launched a toll-free helpline number 1902 which allows citizens to directly call and raise their individual problems with the Chief Minister’s Office.

It is an upgraded version of ‘Spandana’ that aims to proactively reach out to citizens, gather their grievances in a focused manner, and address them in a mission mode. The Chief Minister launched this initiative in the presence of over 1 lakh government officials who were connected via a video call that was arranged in all village and ward secretariats across districts.

“Climbing the ladder brings with it great responsibility. I am not here to rule, but to serve. Starting with me, every government official from top to bottom will be at your service through Jaganannaku Chebudham,” Jagan Mohan Reddy said in his address.

Reiterating his government’s commitment to the public, he said: “The government is moving towards finding a solution to every problem that a citizen can have. This grievance redressal helpline under the Jaganannaku Chebudham program aims to resolve individual grievances relating to any government service or schemes in the most effective manner. Calling 1902 brings the grievance directly to my attention and I consider your problem as mine.”

With this toll-free number, individuals can quickly and easily raise governance-related grievances that are impacting them and their families. In addition to lodging grievances, citizens can also make inquiries about government services and welfare schemes from the comfort of their own homes.

The government claimed that through this initiative it has provided an effective option for individuals to simply call and share their concerns directly with the CM’s Office.

The government has also formed PMUs (Project Monitoring Units) to ensure timely and effective resolution of citizens’ issues. These special monitoring teams will work at various levels of government from the state-level to the mandal-level to regularly follow up and monitor the redressal process.

These teams are directly scrutinized by the Chief Minister’s Office, ensuring that every grievance receives the attention and action it deserves. With the support of PMUs, the government aims to address all citizen grievances raised on the helpline to be promptly taken up by the authorities concerned with the utmost care and attention. The citizens are also given a follow-up feedback call after their grievance has been resolved, officials said.

Furthermore, if a citizen feels that their issue needs to be revisited, the government will reopen the case and escalate it to a senior officer to ensure that every concern is addressed in the best possible manner, they added.

Andhra ministers slam Rajinikanth for praising Chandrababu Naidu

    [ad_1]

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh ministers and leaders of ruling YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) have come down heavily on Tamil superstar Rajinikanth after the latter praised former chief minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president N. Chandrababu Naidu.

Tourism minister R. K. Roja slammed Rajninkanth for the praise lavished on Naidu. Roja, a former actor, called the superstar’s comments ridiculous.

While addressing centenary celebrations of TDP founder and former chief minister N. T. Rama Rao at Vijayawada on Friday, Rajinikanth had heaped praise on Naidu for his vision and the progress achieved by Hyderabad when he was the chief minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh.

    MS Education Academy

Roja reminded Rajnikanth that Naidu was the chief minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh till 2004 and during the last 20 years, Hyderabad has seen development without Naidu.

Water Resources Minister Ambati Rambabu described Rajinikanth as a “coward”. He said the actor announced his entry into politics but later ran away. “Rajinikanth is not competent to speak about politics,” he said.

The minister recalled that Rajinikanth stood by Naidu even when the latter removed his father-in-law NTR from power.

YSRCP leader Kodali Nani remarked that Rajinikanth may be a hero in Tamil Nadu but he is a zero in Andhra Pradesh. “Do we need to hear from Rajinikanth about Chandrababu Naidu,” he asked.

Nani said the Tamil super star spoke a lot about the great qualities of NTR. “I want to ask him why he did not come to help NTR when he was attacked at Viceroy Hotel in Hyderabad,” he asked, referring to the Naidu-led revolt against NTR in 1995.

The YSRCP leader said that nobody is ready to believe what all Rajinikanth said about Naidu’s vision. He also remarked that the actor does shoots for films for three days and spends six days in hospital.

Calling Naidu a visionary, Rajinikanth has said that it was Naidu’s vision of developing Andhra Pradesh that would take the state to great heights in the country in the coming years.

The veteran actor said that Naidu is planning to develop Andhra Pradesh with a Vision 2047, and if that project gets implemented, Andhra will reach great heights in India. He prayed to the almighty to give Naidu the strength and power to implement it.

Rajinikanth claimed that Naidu had spoken about the Information Technology (IT) industry boom in the late 1990s when no one had even thought about it.

The actor said Naidu spoke about Vision 2020 in 1996 and how the IT industry would become a boom. Business tycoons like Bill Gates also appreciated Naidu and then set up their companies, he added.
