Modi Has Completed Integration Of J&K Into India: Amit Shah

    [ad_1]

SRINAGAR: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday said that by reading- down of Article 370, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made the “merger” of Jammu Kashmir forever with India.

Speaking at an election rally in Sandur, Karnataka, on Thursday, Shah praised the government’s move and highlighted the significant improvement in the situation in Jammu and Kashmir since the abrogation.

Shah refuted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s claims of a bloodbath in the region, stating that the abrogation has led to the lowest figures of terrorism-related incidents. The Home Minister also added that the move has led to a lot of positive changes in the region.

The abrogation of Article 370, which had caused harm to the country, was a significant move made by the BJP-led government in 2019, Shah said.

Despite opposition from various political parties, the government’s decision has ensured the integration of Jammu and Kashmir into India permanently. The improved situation in the region has been well-received and is a cause for celebration for the entire country, he added.

Bellary: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has directed the partymen in Hyderabad-Karnataka region to reach out to voters without bothering about mining baron Janardhana Reddy, who has launched a new party, sources stated on Friday.

Amit Shah had given this assurance in the core committee meeting of BJP leaders from four districts of Hyderabad-Karnataka region also known as Kalyan Karnataka on Thursday.

Janardhan Reddy, a former BJP leader, has now launched his own party Kalyan Karnataka Pragathi Paksha (KKJP). • Naga peace talks will be successful, says Amit Shah

Naga peace talks will be successful, says Amit Shah

    [ad_1]

Kohima: Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Tuesday that the Central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has continued the Naga peace talks, adding it will be a successful one.

Addressing an election rally in Tuensang Sadar in Nagaland, the Home Minister said that the Narendra Modi government has taken forward both peace and development in Nagaland.

“Naga peace talks are going on. What PM Modi has started will be successful, and Naga culture, language, attire, tradition and history would be protected and developed in the coming days,” he told the gathering.

The Home Minister, expressing his happiness about the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation’s (ENPO) withdrawal of the vote boycott (February 27), said that all the issues of ENPO had been discussed and an agreement would be signed after the assembly elections.

“Due to the model code of conduct of the assembly elections, an agreement could not be signed. After the February 27 assembly polls, an agreement would be signed by the Union Home Ministry ensuring the Naga people’s rights and development,” Shah said.

The influential Naga body, ENPO, after getting an assurance from the Home Minister on February 4, withdrew its call to boycott the February 27 Assembly polls in support of its demand for a separate ‘Frontier Nagaland’ state.

The Home Minister said that the Armed Forces (Special Power) Act (AFSPA) was withdrawn from 15 police station areas of seven Nagaland districts, and within three to four years, the AFSPA would be withdrawn from the entire Nagaland.

As the Modi government has done a lot of work, including peace accords with several militant outfits, incidents of extremist violence have been reduced by 70 percent in the entire northeast region during the past eight years, he said.

Shah said that the killing of civilians reduced by 83 percent and the killing of security personnel came down to 60 percent in eight years.

He also said that Narendra Modi is the only Prime Minister who has visited the northeast more than 50 times and took the development of the region to a new height.

Noting that for the first time in 75 years, a poor tribal woman became the President of India, the Union Minister said that the Central budget for the development of tribal areas and tribal people was Rs 21,000 crore before 2014, and now it has been increased to Rs 86,000 crore.

The Home Minister said that to develop the remote and far-flung areas of the northeast, satellite-based surveys and monitoring are being conducted for 130 infrastructure projects.

Since 2015, 53 large infrastructure projects have been completed and 142 such projects are now in the pipeline in Nagaland, he said, adding that 14 lakh people of Nagaland are getting 5 kg of rice per month free of cost.

The Home Minister also highlighted the Centre’s help in providing housing, water supply, cash transfer to farmers and health support.

The Home Minister addressed an election rally in Nagaland’s Mon town on Monday and spent the night in Mon town.

Shah also met representatives of ENPO and other organisations during his stay in Mon district, bordering Myanmar.

  • Stone Pelting, Protests Ended In Kashmir After Article 370’s Abrogation: Amit Shah

Stone Pelting, Protests Ended In Kashmir After Article 370’s Abrogation: Amit Shah

    [ad_1]

SRINAGAR: Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that stone pelting has stopped in Kashmir and now there are theaters running and tourists visiting the Valley.

“There used to be stone pelting and violence in Kashmir but now these things have stopped. There are theatres running and 1.8 crore tourists have visited the Valley in a year,” he said while speaking at an event in Nagpur, Maharashtra.

Shah said when Article 370 of the Constitution of India granting special status to Jammu and Kashmir was abrogated, speeches were made in Parliament that blood will flow in Kashmir. But no one even pelted a single stone, leave aside the pool of blood, he asserted.

The Home Minister said the country has seen an 80 per cent reduction in violence in Kashmir, insurgency in the Northeast and left-wing extremism under the Narendra Modi Government.

“Today, I can say that there has been an 80 per cent reduction in violence in Kashmir, insurgency in the Northeast and left-wing extremism under the Modi Government,” he said.

The Home Minister said visiting of 1.8 crore tourists in the Kashmir Valley in one year is a “big thing”.

There had been investments worth Rs 12,000 crore in Kashmir in 70 years but under the Modi Government, it has got Rs 12,000 crore in just three years, he said.

“Each home in Kashmir has been provided with tap water and electricity, which is a huge change,” Shah said.

Insurgency has significantly come down in the Northeast, he said, stressing that the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act (AFSPA), a controversial statute, has been withdrawn from about 60 per cent of the area in the Northeast.

PM Modi’s vision is to see India at the top in the world, said the Minister.
Explaining the three big aims of ‘Amrit Kaal’, the 25-year period culminating in the centenary of India’s independence, mooted by PM Modi, Shah said the first goal is to showcase the sacrifices of freedom fighters before the present generation.

The second aim is to bring before the people the progress made by the country in the past 75 years, while the third aim is to ensure that India reaches the top in all sectors in the next 25 years, said the Home Minister.

He said India is becoming “atmanirbhar” in defence production – with 70 per cent self-reliance – and asserted that the country is turning into a manufacturing hub in the world under Modi.

The Government has been taking decisions that are beneficial to the people, he said, adding that India will be leading the world in hydrogen production in two to three years.

“Similarly, India will be way ahead in the field of satellites in four to five years,” he said.
Indian start-ups are also proving their mettle to the world, he said.

  • Poll Body To Take Call On J&K Elections, Statehood After Assembly Polls: Amit Shah

Poll Body To Take Call On J&K Elections, Statehood After Assembly Polls: Amit Shah

    [ad_1]

SRINAGAR: Restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), as promised by the Centre, would be done after the Assembly poll in the Union Territory (UT) and a call to conduct elections would be taken by the Election Commission of India (ECI), Union Home Minister Amit Shah said today.

Talking to news agency ANI in a interview, Shah noted that there has been a marked improvement in the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir as the lowest militancy-related incidents were reported in the recent past.

He also insisted that Article 370, which was done away with by the Centre in August 2019, had actually harmed the country and the BJP had always been against it.

Noting that development in J&K was leading to gradual ending of militancy, Shah said, “See all the figures. There is a lot of change in Jammu and Kashmir.” Indicating that he could not comment on the timing of the poll in J&K, Shah said, “I had clearly stated that statehood will be restored in Jammu and Kashmir after elections. The process for preparation of voters’ list is nearing completion in the UT. Now, the Election Commission has to take a call on elections.”

On the issue of the emergence of new leadership in J&K, Shah said that new leadership would emerge from local bodies where poll had been held earlier. “The panches and sarpanches, who have been elected…new leadership will emerge from them…Since the time militancy started in J&K, the militancy-related figures are at their lowest today. Crores of tourists and ‘yatris’ are visiting J&K now. This is a huge change,” he noted.

Shah said removing Article 370 has been on the agenda of BJP and Jana Sangh. He also referred to India’s first PM Jawaharlal Nehru in the context of Article 370. “Since 1950, it was on our agenda to remove Article 370 from J&K. Today, the way J&K is witnessing development and decrease in militancy shows that change is coming,” he said. Shah said those slamming the BJP should answer in whose tenure militancy grew in J&K.

“As far as elections are concerned, do they not remember that local body polls were held under our rule? These did not take place for 70 years. Three families were holding sway in J&K and they are making noise…Farooq Abdullah had gone to England. In whose tenure, militancy grew…there should be an answer,” Shah said.

  • Congress, JD(S) supporters of Tipu, Karnataka safe only under BJP, says Amit Shah

Congress, JD(S) supporters of Tipu, Karnataka safe only under BJP, says Amit Shah

    [ad_1]

Dakshina Kannada: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday launched a scathing attack on the Congress and the JD(S), stating that both the opposition parties in Karnataka are supporters of Tipu Sultan (erstwhile ruler of Mysuru).

Shah, who is also the Union Co-operation Minister, was addressing a large gathering after inaugurating the golden jubilee celebrations of Central Arecanut and Cocoa Marketing and Processing Co-operative Limited (Campko) at Puttur in Dakshina Kannada district.

“You must decide whether you should vote for the JD(S) and the Congress which are supporters of Tipu Sultan, or your votes should go to the believers of Rani Abbakka (local queen who fought the Portuguese),” he said.

Shah said that only the BJP can work for the development of Karnataka, something the JD(S) or the Congress can never do.

“The Congress had released 1,700 workers of the Popular Front of India (PFI), while Prime Minister Narendra Modi has banned the outfit. Congress’ appeasement policies have damaged national integration and security,” Shah stated.

He added that only the BJP under the able leadership of Prime Minister Modi can keep the state safe.

“PM Modi has put an end to terrorism and Naxalism. The Congress and the JD(S) had claimed that there will be a bloodbath if Article 370 was withdrawn from Kashmir. But PM Modi’s government ensured that no one dared to carry out a single act of violence,” the Home Minister said.

Praising the culture of the region, Shah said that he has watched the film ‘Kantara’ and he also knows the director.

“The movie showcases the rich culture and tradition of the Mangaluru region,” he said.

  • Voting for Tipra Motha is like voting for Communists: Amit Shah

Voting for Tipra Motha is like voting for Communists: Amit Shah

    [ad_1]

Agartala: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday said that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ended the rule of ‘cadre’ and brought the rule of the ‘Constitution’ in the state of Tripura.

While addressing the ‘Vijay Sankalp Yatra’, here in Agartala, Amit Shah said, “The Congress, Communists and Motha are all together. While the first two are in coalition publicly, Motha is in alliance with them ‘under the table’. Tipra Motha wants to bring back Communist rule.”

“So, if the vote is given to Motha or Congress, it will be a vote to the Communists. So, if you want development and peace, press the ‘lotus’ button,” he added.

Shah said that the largest vaccination drive was carried out in the country under the leadership of PM Modi.

“Earlier, for every petty job, whether ration card or cheap grains, people had to go to the cadre of the Communist party. Our government has ended the rule of cadre and brought the rule of Constitution,” he said.

Further attacking the two parties, Amit Shah said that Congress and the Communist party ruled Tripura for 50 years but didn’t do development in the state.

“Once Tripura was famous for drugs, human trafficking, Bangladeshi infiltration, corruption and atrocities towards Adivasis. Under BJP rule, roads are being built, people are getting drinking water, organic farming and mainly Adivasis are enjoying their rights,” he said.

The Home Minister said that the state is progressing under the slogan of ‘HIRA’ – Highway, Internet, Railway, Airport, given by PM Modi.

“4,000 people were killed in Tripura during CPI(M) rule and violence was all over the state. BJP made the Bru-Reang agreement and brought development here. In these five years, BJP has brought peace, and in the next five years, BJP will work towards making Tripura the best state in the Northeast,” Amit Shah added.

Earlier in the day, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha also addressed the event, saying that the country can’t develop until there is development in North East.

“In 35 years of the Left government rule, 69 people were murdered in the south district only. Today, they are again trying to come to the government. We are doing the work at a fast pace. Until there is no development in North East, the country will not develop,” he said.

Meanwhile, BJP is preparing itself to register another win in Tripura and has struck an alliance with its former ally Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT) which has fielded its candidates at five assembly seats.

For the elections at 60 Assembly seats in the northeastern state, which are slated to be held on February 17, the BJP has fielded 55 candidates. The results will be declared on March 2.

Assembly Election: Amit Shah to address rallies in Tripura today

    [ad_1]

Agartala: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will address two election rallies in Tripura on Monday.

Shah will address two election rallies at Khowai in the Khowai district and Santirbazar in the South Tripura district. The Union Minister will also join a road show in Agartala city today.

Before Shah’s arrival in the state, Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Saturday inspected preparation for Amit Shah’s February 6 rally in the state ahead of the state assembly election.

The Chief Minister visited both the rally spots at Santirbazar in South Tripura and Khowai in the Khowai district in order to ensure that everything was conducted flawlessly.

BJP posted a stunning victory in Tripura in the 2018 Assembly elections, a Left bastion. After its poll victory, BJP appointed Biplab Deb as Tripura’s Chief Minister and in May 2022 appointed Manik Saha for the role.

This is the second visit by the Union Home Minister to the state this year.

Earlier on January 5, he attended two Rath Yatras – one from North Tripura’s Dharmanagar and another from South Tripura’s Sabroom.

Recently, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President Jagat Prakash Nadda was on his visit to the state where he also addressed the public rally in Amarpur in the Gomati district.

The party is preparing itself to register another win in Tripura and has struck an alliance with its former ally Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT) which has fielded its candidates at five assembly seats.

For the elections at 60 Assembly seats in the northeastern state, which are slated to be held on February 17, the BJP has fielded 55 candidates.

Former CM Manik Sarkar, hailing from the Communist Party of India (Marxist), would also contest the upcoming Assembly polls to the state.

According to party officials, several other BJP leaders will also campaign in the northeastern state. For the first time, 11 women candidates have been given tickets in the state assembly election.

Amit Shah lays foundation stone of Rs 450-cr nano urea plant in Jharkhand

    [ad_1]

Deoghar: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday laid the foundation stone of a Rs 450-crore nano urea plant and township of the Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative (IFFCO) in Jharkhand’s Deoghar.

Shah said it will help in reducing the dependence on import of urea and usher in development of the eastern region, particularly the Santhal Paraganas.

“Nano urea will benefit farmers, and it is already being exported to five countries,” he said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had inaugurated the world’s first nano urea plant in Gujarat last year, according to IFFCO. This will be India’s fifth such plant.

“PM Modi has given priority to all works related to land conservation across the country… Many urea factories were revived by Modi, and this small liquid urea factory built on 30 acres will manufacture about six crore bottles every year, which will make India self-sufficient by reducing imports in this sector,” Shah said.

The facility will prove to be useful in increasing production not only in Jharkhand but also in Bihar, Odisha and Bengal, he said.

Nano urea improves crop productivity, soil health and nutritional quality of the produce, IFFCO said.

The plant is scheduled to be commissioned in December next year, IFFCO Managing Director U S Awasthi said.

Awasthi said the unit will be constructed at a cost of Rs 300 crore and the township will entail an investment of Rs 150 crore.

The Jharkhand Industrial Area Development Authority (JIADA) has allotted 30 acres of land to IFFCO for the complex in Jasidih area in Deoghar district.

Shah said Primary Agriculture Credit Societies (PACS) would now function as Common Service Centres (CSC), and farmers can avail benefits of several services including no-dues certificates and birth and death registration certificates.
