Hyderabad: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be addressing a public rally at Chevella near here on April 23, BJP sources said on Saturday.

His visit is part of ‘Parliament Prabhas Yojana’ programme, they said.

Shah is likely to meet some of the key members of blockbuster ‘RRR’ movie team during his visit. The BJP leader is expected to felicitate the film crew for winning the coveted Oscar award.

The ‘Naatu Naatu’ song of ‘RRR’ won the Academy Award in the Best Original Song category at this year’s event.

A senior party leader said Shah always tries to meet with celebrities wherever he goes and as part of that the minister met actors Junior NTR and Nithin, among others during his earlier visits last year.

BJP sources said the saffron party will work with increased focus in Telangana and step up its campaign once the Assembly polls are over in neighbouring Karnataka on May 10.

The political one-upmanship between the ruling BRS and BJP has reached new heights during recent times with the war of words between the two parties becoming almost a daily affair.

The BJP has been making efforts to emerge as the alternative to BRS and the national party has had reasonable success in a couple of Assembly bypolls and the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) election during the last three years.

Mumbai: Union Minister Amit Shah has given the Bharatiya Janata Party a seven-point programme to implement in Mumbai, the party’s metropolis unit chief Ashish Shelar said on Sunday.

Shah, among the key strategists of the BJP, arrived in Mumbai late Saturday evening and had chaired a meeting with the core committee of the Mumbai BJP where he also reviewed organisational works, Shelar told reporters.

“Shah gave us a seven-point programme to implement to serve Mumbaikars better. The core committee meeting was convened in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, state unit president Chandrashekhar Bawankule and others,” Shelar said.

Civic polls in several cities in Maharashtra, including Mumbai, are due since early 2022 but were not held because of the COVID-19 pandemic. These civic bodies are under administrators at present.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation was ruled by the Shiv Sena, which split in June last year into factions led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, an ally of the BJP, and former CM Uddhav Thackeray.

Mood set in Telangana in favour of BJP: Amit Shah

    [ad_1]

Panaji: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday said the mood of people is in favour of BJP Telangana as well as in Odisha.

“The BJP will form a government again in Karnataka,” Shah said addressing a public meeting in south Goa where he kicked off the Bharatiya Janata Party’s campaign for 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

He referred to Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge’s remarks on BJP’s victory in “small states” of Goa and Uttarakhand earlier and said Kharge shouldn’t insult small states.

    MS Education Academy

Shah also said Congress was wiped out in recent polls in the Northeast after Rahul Gandhi campaigned for the party.

He said the Congress always considered Northeastern states as their stronghold due to a sizeable minority population in these states, but the outcome of recent polls favoured BJP.

“I saw the mood of people in favour of BJP in Odisha and Telangana. I want to tell Kharge ji and Rahul baba that the BJP will form a government in Karnataka again,” he added.

Shah said when BJP won elections in small states like Goa, Uttarakhand, and in the Northeast, Kharge said these are small states.

“They are small states but they are important states of the country. Khargeji should not insult small states,” Shah added.

He said small states are important parts of the country and it is the policy of the Modi government to have a “bigger responsibility towards small states”.

“Small states are the ‘dharohar’ of our country and they are as much important as big states. The smaller the state, the bigger the responsibility of the Centre to work for its development. This is the policy of the Modi government,” Shah said.

Taking a dig at Rahul Gandhi, Shah said after ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’, Rahul Gandhi undertook a full-fledged campaign in the Northeast elections, but the Congress party was wiped out from these states and people gave their mandate in favour of the BJP.

He said BJP has won a full majority in Tripura elections while 13 MLAs of the saffron party were elected in Nagaland. “The government in Meghalaya was formed with the support of BJP,” the home minister added.

Shah said the people of the Northeast have given a clear message that this country should be ruled by a party which can provide security, peace and development to the people.

Amit Shah advices Bengal BJP to be ‘Aatmanirbhar’ ahead of polls

    [ad_1]

Kolkata: Before leaving for Delhi after completion of his two-day visit to West Bengal, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday outlined the strategy to be adopted for the forthcoming panchayat elections and next year’s Lok Sabha polls by the state unit of the BJP.

According to party sources, of the many pieces of advice given by Shah, the main is that the party’s state leadership should be more self-reliant by bridging the organisational gaps and shed excessive dependence on the BJP high-command.

Party insiders said that the Home Minister has specifically asked the BJP to start the process of strengthening the booth-level committees and reactivating the defunct ones before the panchayat polls scheduled this year.

    MS Education Academy

“Amit Shah has clearly said that if the process starts from the panchayat polls, the goal of having a full-fledged and strong booth-level network will be completed before the 2024 Lok Sabha polls,” said a state committee member of the BJP.

While admitting that Shah has outlined the strategy to be adopted for the forthcoming polls, BJP’s state unit chief and Lok Sabha member Sukanta Majumdar, however, refused to reveal the details of the discussions held with the Home Minister.

“These are closed-door affairs and cannot be revealed to the media,” Majumdar said.

Meanwhile, party sources said that although Shah is not against roping in leaders and workers from other parties, he has clearly instructed that only individuals with an overall clean-image should be allowed entry into the BJP.

“Shah has also specifically said that the state BJP leadership should ensure that they get maximum mileage from the growing grievances of the people against the state government and the ruling Trinamool Congress, besides ensuring that the Left Front-Congress alliance does not get the advantage of the anti-incumbency factor,” the state committee member said.

As per party sources, Shah also said that clean image, loyalty to the party and acceptability among the people should be the primary considerations in selecting candidates for the forthcoming panchayat polls.

  • India strongly rejects China’s objection to Amit Shah’s visit to Arunachal Pradesh

India strongly rejects China’s objection to Amit Shah’s visit to Arunachal Pradesh

    [ad_1]

New Delhi: India on Tuesday firmly rejected China’s objection to Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to Arunachal Pradesh and asserted that the state “was, is and will” always remain an integral and inalienable part of India.

External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said objecting to such visits does not stand to reason and will not change the reality.

The home minister visited Arunachal Pradesh on Monday during which he launched the ambitious ‘Vibrant Villages Programme’ that is aimed at improving the standard of living of the people in villages in frontier areas.

“We completely reject the comments made by the Chinese official spokesperson. Indian leaders routinely travel to the state of Arunachal Pradesh as they do to any other state of India,” Bagchi said.

“Arunachal Pradesh was, is and will always remain an integral and inalienable part of India. Objecting to such visits does not stand to reason and will not change the above reality,” he said.

Bagchi was responding to media queries on the Chinese reaction to Shah’s visit to Arunachal Pradesh.

From a border village in Arunachal Pradesh, Shah, in a clear message to China, on Monday said that no one can dare cast an evil eye on India’s territorial integrity and encroach even an “inch of our land”.

He said the era when anyone could encroach the borderlands of India was over.

The home minister’s statement came days after Beijing announced Chinese names for 11 places in Arunachal Pradesh which the neighbouring country claims as the “southern part of Tibet.”

Responding to a question on Shah’s visit, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said, “Zangnan (the Chinese name for Arunachal Pradesh) is part of China’s territory”.

“The activity of the senior Indian official in Zangnan violates China’s territorial sovereignty and is not conducive to peace and tranquillity in the border areas. We are firmly against this,” he told a media briefing in Beijing.
